    years ago when i became a taxi driver, the first 3 months of doing it, i could tell my brain was adjusting. i could visualize all the streets in 3 dimensions and know where any place was relative to anywhere else. i even used to have dreams about it. this has even been proved on brain scans of taxi drivers where their hypocampus in brain expands when you do this job. not taxi driver anymore, and can't remember where anything is lol

    When I first heard of it I never thought how powerful this is... it is true! I've lived in a moldy apartment and that caused a injury/trauma in my limbic system, it is stuck in fight/flight mode... I noticed that these days because nothing helped me... Neuroplasticity can create new pathways and calm dawn the limbic system so that everything will be fine again... it is so powerful.

    I used to lead a rock band where I would as the lead guitarist and lead vocalist have to remember a couple of hours of songs, a sequence of notes and words that had to be performed correctly and timed exactly as well as keeping an eye on the audience reaction and my fellow band members.
    I am amazed that I can still play a complicated piano piece from memory at the age of 70. I am no different to all of you in this potential. I agree with Sten, if you don’t use it you lose it or perhaps if you do not entertain it you do not gain it!

    Yes, my brain had to grow a lot of new pathways after I was hit very hard in the head. I lost a lot of things and it slowed my motor functions as well. I haven’t recovered all I lost and it is harder to learn new things too but I have been rebuilding things. I write a lot of things down and how you do things and then I can go back to my notes and walk through the steps to do something. I do this with computer stuff all the time. I have had to learn several new programs over the past 18 months so we can use Zoom to broadcast. Diagrams help me lean things so I can learn them.

    From France with thanks, and great appreciation generally for all your videos, the more so since I have turned my back on mainstream medicine for the last 30 years.
    But THIS is VERY interesting, because it goes to the CORE of what each of us can do for oneself, even more central than diet and exercise.
    I am 78 and fighting haphazardly on different levels :
    * food, diet, T2D, and what it signals me about my own makeup ;
    * fight against negativity and despondency, after years of stress, shocks, losses;
    * observing advancing age effects, and trying to cope and maintain a balance;
    * beung overwhelmed in my daily efforts at ranging/simplifying/emptying an uninspiring little house filled with now useless things of the past or - worse - with mementoes of simple little dreams I had had, of doing this or that, dreams that I have had at one point to abandon, one after the other;
    *recovering after nine years of mourning the loss of a daughter, and reflecting on what had brought her death, which turned into a backward scrutiny of my whole life, my choices, events after events, back to my starting adult life, and then back into my teens - this has brought me to a better knowledge of God, which is my treasure, but it also left me in a great practical disorder, nine years of things undone… Wow!
    ** all this is daunting, and could finish me, except that I have entered a new paradigm that sustains me ..”the command to endure, and why…the command to take up one’s cross and go…the omnipresent feeling of how I am loved … and the realization, after a life given to loving and fighting for my children, of how incapable I am to love and fight for myself, in what is really a simple fight, considering what lots of people have to overcome in this world, way beyond just my huge disorder to tackle with little energy or money !!
    The funny thing is that I may now practice crawling like a baby - and that is odd, because of an odd unforgotten little memory : after a few months of having embarked in reading the respectable KJV bible, I had one day felt like I was a baby vivaciously crawling, when a hand seized me by my baby clothes, lifting me out of mischief…
    Thank you, Dr. Ekberg - you provide answers to lots of people. We are grateful.

My refractory epilepsy and the 6 different antiepileptic drugs destroy my constant practice for memory improvement. Anyone who wants their memory destroyed can give doctors a thumb up to do a temporal lobectomy. Please talk more about the effect of ketogenic diet and autophagy on the brain.

    Four months ago at age sixty I suffered a heart attack while out on my regular twice a week jog. I had often wondered after only ever having done unskilled labouring work all my life whether I could switch things up and become more cerebral and be the person I had always wanted to be. Literally half an hour before the heart attack I had successfully achieved proof of concept with a new type of flywheel mechanism I had invented. Before the angiogram to determine a course of action I asked the chief surgeon if I could opt for triple bypass over stents because i had heard it was more durable in the long term. As it happened the doctors decided on bypass. For some weeks after surgery i was too scared to eat because of an abundance of confusing information regarding cholesterol. Thanks to your excellent videos and thier presentation I enjoyed almost immediate psychological and physical health after ditching the bread and pasta and with this video my fear of the future after heart surgery is rapidly dissappearing.

But it’s very difficult to tell because I already have a SSLD ( severe specific learning difficulty) and a Dissociative Disorder from severe and early sexual abuse, that’s like complex OST traumatic stress. So my brain is not neurotypical How can I tell if it’s getting worse and what can I do. I am vegan, I meditate (12 years) and I exercise as much as possible but I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome so with all these things I have had decades of great fear, flashbacks , pain, inflammation and very poor sleep. This make good sense to me. I need to heed some advice! I had total amnesia in 1989 due to diesel exhaust. Have had seizures. ( took Lamotrigine mostly. Had to stop this when taking warfarin) Memory got better over years and with a "seed planted", some lost memories have come back! I do the same thing too much. I need to focus learning my guitar playing and such. Improved diet has greatly improved my general condition. I have severe coronary artery calcification. Docs want me on Lipitor. I dont want to take it. Warfarin does seem to destress my heart. Doc didn't buy that and says-"It doesn't work that way" Sure seems to. Pfizer Covid vaccine seems to have complicated things. Feel like I need the warfarin to destress my heart and brain? Seems to improve my general sense of wellbeing and I want to know why and how to safely keep feeling well.

    I’m curious of your thoughts on how this all works with Autism. If we can ‘re-train’ the brain for all of the things U mention… Y can’t we rewrite the brain of an autistic person.
