Just found you and I'm loving your videos! look forward to more!
This was so helpful and clear!
Love your video!
Can I ask why you use a small hook size is it to make less gaps ? Tighter stitches? Or just more comfortable for u I have noticed every time I watch a video if not USA everybody uses a smaller hook im just trying to find out if there is a important reason why or is it just more comfortable for u
Hi Mom, basically, The USA version of Double knitting yarn (also called worsted weight yarn) is a bit thicker than UK double knitting yarn. So the USA yarn is more like UK aran weight, and needs to be used with a 5mm hook.
So as our DK yarn here in the UK is finer, the standard crochet hook size mainly used for it is a 4mm Hook. Hope that helped explain it to you. All the best, Wendy
@@WendyPooleKnits thank you that makes so much sense to me now. I have some dk yarn that's what we call it here I just put it with a 4 ply yarn to use it .I dont think I can use a dk weight by itself because of my arthritis and hands sometimes lock up I have a pair of those copper fingerless gloves and they really do work
