A sublime concert worthy of the great composers of the romantic era; profoundly evocative, at times melancholic and sentimental with tragic overtones; and yet well-balanced. Thank you for this magnificent piece.
So much great and wonderful music on RUclips I've haphazardly discovered. It's amazing this music is never heard. I'm sure the problem is there is just too much of it, having accumulated over the centuries. I could have been content just re-listening to Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, etc. RUclips has unleashed a whole new category I never-before knew.
@@epicablaze Not sure what your point is. If you're saying we could use more music in the world, I'd say there's already quite a bit. We just can't listen to it all. And most of it would not be worth listening, even once.
@@BeniM Not sure it's my "journey of a lifetime," but recent experiences on RUclips have been unexpected journeys. I had thought I already heard what was worthy. How wrong I was.
Really beautiful concert. I love Chopin concerts, but I've listened to them so many times in my life that now I prefer discovering other romantic composers like this. Thank you!
Definitely seem to be similarities with the Chopin concertos---> and if i may give my own humble opinion, this Tellefsen seems better. (^^) At the very least, Tellefsen gives the orchestra more to do than the young Pole does, and the accompaniment is more substantial than the "almost completely useless" Chopin parts derided by Berlioz.~ Anyway, i think it is fair to call this Trllefsen work quite a discovery... Irrelevant personal aside--> Quite an intriguing evening of listening for me, as before this i had stumbled across the Henselt piano concerto. There is still plenty of great music to discover, to be sure.
actually a really nice concerto in my opinion. the third movement is a bit dull but especially the first one is really imaginative and excellently written. awesome piano entrance as well! definitely prefer this over thalberg, czerny etc.
Oh god - ANOTHER contriver? I never had heard of this one until now. It sounds just like spohr - an unglorified harmony exercise dressed up in orchestral instrumentation. Everything is four-square, totally predictable, and there is not a single moment of ravishing beauty. Not one. Plodding and going nowhere.

Not enough music in the world my friend

You’re about to embark on the journey of a lifetime

How did this composer stay so obscure for so long? A wonderful concerto, some of the most charming music I’ve heard for some time.
Politics and boys club, the hidden hand you know ?
Predivna kompozicija,odlicno izvodjenje!👏👏💐

Esatto , ci sono un’infinità di grandi compositori che hanno scritto musiche meravigliose .
Listen to the Henselt Piano Concerto.
Unjustly forgotten
i can recommend both Moszkowski piano concerti
Just lovely. Very charming and gentle composition. Love it.
I adore this piece. I would pay to hear this live in concert. Just beautiful. So many hidden gems out there. Thank you
The section that starts at 8:40 is just, wow...
I love this
Beautiful!
well yeah, it's been composed by a friend of yours!
Indeed it reminds me to Chopin,… nevertheless it is very pleasant pianoconcert ,… it does not reach very high but good enough !🎼🎵
Very beautiful.

Recomiendo a kurt atterberg pianococerto sibmin.
Atterberg concerto is good, henselt concerto? Schellendorf concerto?
Well, really doesn't quite grab me. It's charming but rather shallow. The piano solo part is pretty unimaginative.
a bit superficial, pleasant enough. lots of Chopin in this.
minute 4:40 reminds me a lot of chopin
Very nice, but he runs out of ideas by the 3rd movement. Smoothly played.
The first two movements are great, but, the last movement is so... bleh

Boring and in the detailed description it says g minor, it’s obviously not in g minor but rather f minor
Sorry about that.
@@fruisen9436 it’s fine…I just wanted to point it out. Thanks for fixing it!
Never happy !!! ☹
Why is it boring? I thought there were really beautiful passages in it, look at 3:27, 8:40, 20:22
