- This video will show you how to connect your DRL so when you switch to High Beam, they (DRL) turn on too. - The flicking at the end of the video on the position light is due to the 4K camera I used which has a bigger refresh rate than the LED itself. In real life, your eye can't see it.

Another tip for you XC90 owners, adjust the tilt of your Xeon beams. They come from the factory tilted down too much and there is an adjustment on the top to raise it up so that the beam is thrown further down the road as you drive.
Can you show on a video or picture where the adjustment is ?

Thank you! Been trying to work this out for over 2 years. We have a USA spec xc90 and the headlights were terrible.
Glade it was able to help. Remember though that doing this won't make it brighter at night. People will see you better, but that's about it. The brightness of a headlight beam depends on the inside reflectors. The DRL are meant to be seen, but not to lite the road in front of you..

@@nilssjoberg2522 As long as the headlight block is the same -I am pretty sure they are- it will work. You also have to check in Europe to make sure that your DRL is the headlight in the block and not the FogLight as some newer model had.
@@fgc-ol4jn so if the fog light is the DRL it won't work? I have a 2013 with the fog light DRL and it annoys me that inner light doesn't do anything
@@nilssjoberg2522 If your DRL is fog light, what is the relationship between the 2 bulbs in the headlight? Low and high beam?
Do you have to do both sides? And, after you make that jump between 1 & 6 terminals, will you DRL's still function as before, besides now coming on with brights?
You should use a relay for this mod.
Hello does the existing function work properly even if I remove the device connected to that connector?
You are not removing anything. Just unplugging, so you can hijack the wire, then plug it back.

Yes they do. Still on during the day.
Hi thanks for the handy video. One question. Do the DRLs come on as well during the day when the they normally would?
Hi ! - The DRL will stay on during the day, if you have your switch (North America) to 0.
At night, as usual, it automatically switches to BiXeon or whatever you have.
High beam will be regular high beam + DRL
But remember, DRL are not bright since they are not intended to illuminate the road again.
This is just a cool add-on.

In North America the headlights are programmed for the DRLS to be on in the daytime. When you turn the headlights on DRLS go out. This is when this mod takes effect. If you want your DRLS programmed to off at all times you will need a laptop to do so with the appropriate Volvo propriety software.
Great mod! I own a 2014 XC90 and live in the US. My DRL's in the headlights are always off, no way to turn them on, but the LED fog lights operate as DRL's. Do you know if I can connect the parking lights to come on with my fog lights as DRL accents?
You need to use VIDA software. Most likely your mechanic can help with this :)

No, it does not decrease the intensity. Each wire are connected to a different circuit board which gives the same amount of voltage.
