@newhinhin yea i guess the fact that the 6800 uses the same chip as the higher tiers makes a difference. Thats why im worried about the 7800xt using navi 32 instead of 31. It wont reach the 4080 like the 6800xt did with the 3080. The 6800xt was too good a deal and now amd are competing with themselves and the buyers are the ones who lose.
Dam I have a 3080 and i wish it had higher 1% lows @4k dam VRAM. The 6800 had higher 1% lows yet lower averages in most games with a tighter FPS spread( the 6800 would be a smoother experience as they say)
These games are old so they might not need more vram at 1080p or 1440p.. games coming out this year tell a completly different story.. last of us. re4 already talking more than 10 gb or close to 10 gb even at 1080p maxed.. by the end of the year all 8 gb cards will be obsolete on maxed 1080p ...offcourse on big tittles..
@@panterxbeats im on the same boat, got a new rog strix 3080 for 500 last week was about to cry about it when I found out that it might not be enough for future games but im usually playing at mist 1440 so it should be fine. I'm trying to find new GPU too, but my budget is for secondhand GPU, so my choice is 6800 or 3080, If have I want a new one I probably wait for other GPU to release before decided.
maybe 7800 prices will get more expensive at launch so I advice you to wait some times from now, as 7900 xt and xtx were kinda disappointing at performances compared to 6900 and 6950, I believe 7700 and 7800 series won't do much better (im talking about gap performance between newer and older gen), but the price is the most important thing, at the launch or those new gpu, no doubt 6000 series prices will drop, so you should wait a little more imo
@@jastproo yep maybe wait until 7700 and 7800 series to launch are see price dropping, also check the 6800xt prices, way better than the 6800 for a little gap price

Amazing driver nurture by AMD. 1 year i go i think even the 6800xt couldnt beat the 3080, but now with the 6800 here we are
I was surprised it's better than 3080, normally nvidia cards are better in the same tier,. but MUCH more expensive

The Power consumption on the rtx is higher, we need to look the efficiency too
Rx 6800 for future and games, 3080 for work. Amd is better for games because have 16 gb VRAM

Bought the Gigabyte Aorus Master 6800 for 399 euro. Think it’s a great deal.
To game 4k at 60fps just not worth it 1440p the sweet spot but 1080p still budget king.
I average around 80 fps with the 6800 on 1440p ultra settings in the last of us
hardly any difference go with the cheapest and better drivers
