@@dr.jamesdenton3051 It's an action movie, lol. The only reason anyone gives it credit is that the filmmakers put a liiittle more effort into verisimilitude than most filmmakers.
That was just Winston's personal stache, he's not actually trying to defeat the emissaries just trying to make enough of a fuss for the Adjudicator to parley. Also John literally kills more with his sidearm then the automatic because he could line up shots with the joints of their armor, he didn't switch to AP until he knew what specs they were using.
I just love John Wicks situational awareness when facing multiple adversaries. He prioritizes which guys are down and dead, which are down and not dead, which are actively engaging with him. Also he excels at what few other action movies do and that's shooting them in the head. So many other action movies where the bad guy are taken down only to come back later on and all I'm screaming is "Shoot them in the fricken head so they don't get up".
I love those moments when someone introduce 'problem solver' weapon or ammunitions on action movie. just like charon show john some armor piercing slugs.
realistically, the high table assassins would all have severe concussions or be permanently brain damaged from taking that many rounds to a head. their helmets may stop the bullets, but it would still be like getting smashed in the head with a fine point hammer.
Against anyone else that would at least give them a fighting chance after being shot in the head to survive instead of being lobotomized, especially if it doesn't land squarely. Of course John just puts enough rounds into them that their brains are mush anyway or jams it in the weak points.
Genuinely my favorite firefight in the trilogy, though it only works in contrast with previous firefights. Because before, the guns brought in could handle whatever came their way, but now most weapons can only stun who John is fighting, and the one truly effective weapon he has is very limited in how many shots he has before he has to reload. Even if he can reload it in a few short seconds, he still needs that break. And when he is not using it, it shows him quickly adapt to having very limited ways of dispatching enemy combatants, even if he has to fight like hell to get to where he can.
It's like a video game level where your normal weapons are not as effective and you either need to shoot your opp a whole lot to get them down or stun them, or upgrade your weapon. It's the first thing I thought about when watching this scene.
I love that at first, John was confused as to why they're not dead, then realized they're wearing an armor suit instead of a regular flak and helm(it was dark), so he tried to look and shoot at weakspots and inevitably found one behind the neck so he started shooting them there.
Love the way the filmmakers have built Charon’s character. One amazing thing about this franchise is that, no matter how small (Francis in JW1) or large the character- the filmmakers have always made them unique in the relatively short time they appear on screen. I wish more franchises would actually allow their smaller characters to make a decision (something that most side characters in JW get to do). Adds characterization. Shoutout to Kolstad, Hatten and the rest of the writer team + Chad, David and Basil and the legend Keanu. Rip Lance ❤
Although the John Wick saga (as a character) is over, the universe of mafias and assassins behind it is incredible, I feel that Marcus or Charon could star in a future spin-off in their younger versions, they already seem to be, together with Francis , from the generation of hitmen before Wick, and as you say, it is seen that Wick, despite being a legend, has a deep respect for both men despite the fact that they are not bosses or criminal leaders, so I'm sure that in their golden days as hitmen they were on almost the same level as Wick and served as his mentors.
One detail that I really liked about this scene was how the one guy grabbed an extra mag from the other guy's belt when his mag ran out. That's such a cool little detail and it just fits in with the world's aesthetic and some of what the military does in real life.
Another insane detail is when John and the bad guy are in the pool and John backs up so that the bullets can’t hit him since 9mm is subsonic and travels below the speed of sound. Such insane details in these movies
This scene is an absolute master-class example of execution, and is on par with anything else the other entries had. I especially like that Lance Reddick's character, whom you might assume is a badass, is proven to be one, almost on Wick's level (likely could have been but opted for a more straightforward life). It's gorgeously shot, the extras/stuntmen all perform their multi-faceted movements in perfect sync with one-another, and the techniques the heroes use are inventive and intense. The use of Vivaldi just adds a great extra layer. I also like how Wick, when he goes in with the shotgun, will fire individual shots and then reload the missing round, making sure his weapon is always at max ammo.

As much as I love these films, there's always 1 thing that annoys me and It's how people fall after a headshot. In real life if you take the brain out, mostly dead center the human body just flops lifeless. No flailing, no jumping or flipping. Yea It can be hard to mimic and can be unsettling when done right but these movies are well beyond that boundary.
It's kinda hard to totally ragdoll yourself like that and also people would say it looks unrealistic since they're used to seeing unrealistic Hollywood headshots all the time in movies
What's kind of funny is that Winston is just sitting there sipping on Brandy while John and Charon are just going to town on a bunch of guys. That just shows he's just too lazy to get anything done 😂
Don't forget the other part of the scene of the movie. That Winston is being so very nice to John Wick's Dog and he is taking good care of it. While there is a battle going on in the Hotel!
My only guess is that it's the difference, between 9mm major through the 2011 combat master vs just regular 9mm (1425 feet per second = serious business) . I see no other explanation.
Considering that most body armour loses its integrity after no more than a few shots and that the wearer is still going to be knocked down from the force of the shot, I have to wonder what the High Table soldiers were wearing during this scene. Whatever it was, it was almost as good at soaking up shots as beskar armour from The Mandalorian.

2:42 need more fire power!!! i love the reaction of Winston when he open arm look like well take what you want!!
When John shoots them they get all stunned, but when the guards shoot them they don't even flinch
0:15 that guy cough still makes me laugh everydamn time, IDK why XD
There's some magic bullets/shells but this is a good scene
And also rest in peace Lance Reddick you were the best hotel attendant/titan vanguard
0:42 I love how they all stagger everytime John shoots them but didn't even flinch here
My only guess is that it's the difference, between 9mm major through the 2011 combat master vs just regular 9mm (1425 feet per second = serious business) . I see no other explanation.
I just need a game like this man
Rip in pepperoni, Lance Reddick. Mainly remember him from The Wire, but he was a fun supporting character in this too!
First thing I ever saw him in was The Guest, before Id watched The Wire. Fantastic actor
Lance RIP your and always will be a legend
John Wick is not immoral, he is just really good at dropping his mag and reloading.
Si desde el principio le hubieran dando escopeta a todos los empleados de el continental, les hubieran ganando fácil.
Heartwarming scene! Perfect for family viewing...
Nikt mu nie dorównał brawo John jesteś niesamowity, obronił hotel Continental gość😊
John Wick: Need more fire power!
Basicly, Neo: Guns. Lots of it.
Blindaje modular de nivel 5.
Una especie de jugernaut en miniatura ya que pesan bastante.
Guy in the pool was personal
Oh Heck Yeah!
Д. Депп достоин уважения и восхищения, потому что даже для съемок нужно овладеть стрелковым искусством и рукопашным боем на крайне высоком практическом уровне. А здесь демонстрируется именно высокий уровень практической стрельбы.
Charon is given a chance to fight for his home and does so effectively. Even John pauses to admire his skills when they return to the armory.
I like the shock for a second when the others see the first guys head in the room turn to soup.
6:14 I think this is the only movie I've seen where they accurately show how bullets don't travel in water.
It's truly a Big Lip Alligator Moment!
@@BooBop1987 Not really. It doesn't make absolutely no sense and pop up outta nowhere.
2:47 The perfect visual of intelligence observing wisdom.
i know john is the "double tap" kind of guy, but he wasted quite a number of rounds on hostiles who would be dead with just one shot
