I spent weeks preparing before I attempted Crib Goch. I watched videos and planned my route meticulously. My son and I were happy to turn around at any point should we have felt out of our depth. I wasn’t concerned about the knife edge just the initial scramble and the pinnacles. On walking out on the knife edge I became very uneasy, conditions were perfect with no wind and just a few wisps of cloud, however I felt shit-scared. I don’t really think anything can prepare you for how exposed you can feel up there. I made it across like a crab and was happy when we made the pinnacles. What surprised me was the scrambling after crib goch up to crib y Ddysgl, quite difficult in places. A place not to be underestimated for sure.
Top man. Preparation is key. I personally find that it's a beautiful spot for conversing with the devi if you do it when it's damp and the ridge is absolutely buried in mist / cloud. He always makes me feel welcome and completely at home. We've hatched some sterling plans at that beautiful place.
I think I was at Nant Peris when those two climbers were brought down safely. If it wasn't them, then it was another two people. I have the ultimate respect for what you Coastguard Air Assistance rescuers do for us. Thank- you.
UK ARCC coordinate the UK’s rescue air assets - they would have tasked the nearest available aircraft. Quite possibly Rescue 936 (Caernarfon aircraft) was either tasked elsewhere or otherwise not available so R187 from St Athan would have been used. RAF Valley hasn’t been a SAR base for some years since HM Coastguard took over all UK civil air rescue.

Crag fast. The bane of the unprepared and inexperienced.
They froze and just couldn't move anymore, panic attack and you're done.
Why did the helicopter come all the way from St Athan (Cardiff) instead of RAF Valley on Anglesey?

@@ramseyboaterI see, I'll have to try harder not to trip when I go up the mountain then, or always take a tent with me!
I doubt very much that they are climbers
I don’t understand why non experienced climbers try this route!
It's the cost of the train fare up there, add that to travel and boarding expenses.......
My 10 year old cousin did this hike a few years ago and he was fine.
You do understand don't lie
@@brokenjet6134 What??…💁
@@user-markparker you literally do understand
Should of left them there.bet they wouldn't climb anymore
Nice🙄
Rescue services are paid for this exact thing. Smart people can make stupid mistakes believe it or not.
No way! That would be cruel.
