I sit around way too much! But a few days ago, I decided enough was enough. I have been researching how to harvest poppy seeds. I was waiting for the seed heads to dry out. And when I finally went outside to check on them, it was such a beautiful moment. I was in awe of God's perfect design. I had to call my family outside to share my excitement! I was absolutely amazed at the simplicity and enjoyment I was experiencing! There were thousands of seeds, just from the few plants I have. My next task is to prep the garden bed where the seeds will be scattered this fall. I can't wait to see my little field of poppies next spring! Thank you for all your videos!
I love how you speak about homeschooling. We homeschooled our three for eight years. It was hard, but it was so worth the time and effort I put in. Now, as they go to public school in 3rd, 6th, and 12th grade I can see all of the efforts I put in during the time they needed me the most. You put it so beautifully!
I honestly never thought I would be a homeschooler…but I will do anything for my kids! Thank you for the encouragement that the time and effort will be worth it! ❤️
I have reduced the number of dishes in the cupboard. This really helps with the washing up and keeps the sink free from clutter. An empty sink makes me feel pretty triumphant! In addition, most of my summer clothes are linen so ironing has become a centering ritual. Steaming out the wrinkles is a soothing meditation. Taking time reminds me that life is not an emergency.
Oh my goodness I so needed this video today! I spent 5 hours with my 96 year old Mother today on a doctor appointment with her complaining a large part of the time I totally understand where she is coming from but I can’t make her younger and neither can her doctor! I needed to have your calm voice and understanding of appreciation for how beautiful life is and finding joy in the beautiful world we have Thank you for bringing life back into prospective for me!
Oh that’s tough! It’s so easy to get weighed down in a circumstance that can’t be ‘fixed’ - in those moments all we can do is try to focus on the positive as much as possible! Hope you have a great day! ❤️
So enjoyed seeing your garden again. My mindfulness begins as soon as I get out of bed. I open the curtains and windows which I feel is symbolic of welcoming a new day. I do this even in winter although it depends on the weather and the window might only be open for ten minutes then! I realise that not all countries have the temperate climate that the UK has. I have recently started drinking green tea rather than coffee at breakfast and I find it helps with a gentler, slower start to the day. I would love to take a mindful approach to cooking but haven't mastered that yet. It's still too much of a chore!
Welcoming the day by opening the curtains- I love that! I agree with you on cooking…so far, it’s just something I tolerate. Sometimes I will listen to classical music while doing it - so that the process is more enjoyable ❤️

Inspired and inspiring video! I have a couple of chores today and I will absolutely slow down to do them. You have a good influence on me. Thank you so much!❤
What a great video ❤ I love your attitude and approach to simple living. One day I hope to be able to live a simpler life, and be able to slow down and enjoy it.
Thank you for including the idea that it's okay and sometimes best to stop a task and come back to it later. That's a tough one for a perfectionist who wants to get the job done but I've learned that rest should always be included as an important part of productivity.
This is why I Love to come here. You have long been following Your Wonderful Calling. You absolutely bring such Calm to countless people who are Blessed to have come to hear Your Heart for us. ❤😊 Thank you Dear Friend. Heart felt Love to You Forever. 🙂
So wonderful! Loved this! we all have the mundane parts of life...why not turn them around to be times of mindfulness and intentionality? Makes for a much better life!
Loved this video. Exactly what I needed this morning. Your sister was so thoughtful to create such a beautiful and practical garden apron. Really clever with the pull string! Also appreciated the emphasis on grounding through your senses, slowing down to the moment, and reveling in those spaces as you prioritize for maximum effect. May God bless this day! Oh, I loved the books My side of the mountain and Bringing the rain to Kapiti Plain. I used to teach that one 😊
Thank you! I love homeschooling with a specific theme / unit studies - and then searching for quality children’s literature. We have read through some amazing books - some of which I had never heard of or read myself as a child! I’m so thankful for my sister’s thoughtfulness. Her love language is definitely gift giving, but she recognizes that I am very careful about what I bring in and keep - so for her to hand make me something that will be useful for a passion of mine was really special! ❤️
Ha! Yes we do, I just try not to show their houses for privacy purposes …but we live in a subdivision where all the neighbors have large lots or acreage mostly. It’s kind of ok the outskirts of town. We have a 4 1/2 acre parcel ourselves and most of it is wooded. We feel very blessed to call this slice of earth home! ❤️
@@ArrowHillCottage i understand why... Lucky you. We have only 20 meters garden...one pomegranate tree ... And we are considered to be lucky. My parents for instance have none
I have the same question and glad I got the answer. I live in a Southern California suburb where my neighbors house is about ten feet away. I would be nervous to be so far away from my neighbors as there could be break ins and intruders. My neighbors are nice and we watch out for one another. I guess you may find it too crowded or packed. Interesting. I would love to experience the kind of land you have on your end. So natural and serene. Love your channel ❤
What mindfulness techniques have YOU found helpful?
Used to do gardening, but now, living in a flat, I still put water outside, in a casserole for the birds/animals that come "visit". 🙂

Great! I personally dislike ironing, but can definitely see how it can be a rewarding, soothing job! ❤️
Hey, Angela. You guys built that house from scratch and made it a lovely home surrounded by unique nature. Thanks for the inspiration. ❤️
We feel very fortunate and blessed to call this home and land ours. We will never take that for granted! Thanks for watching! ❤️

I love a beautifully made bed! For me, a house isn't tidy unless the beds are made.
I’ve always loved nice, neat beds- even as a child! ❤️
Thank you, that was wonderfully calming to watch 🎉

Absolutely! This is something I’ve definitely had to learn over the years! Burnout is a real road block! ❤️

Awe, thank you so much! Have a great day! ❤️
I love black squirrels! And birds :)
It’s funny because we hade a lot of squirrels around and NoNE of them every try to get on the bird feeder. Only the black one! ❤️

I just love your videos...
Do you have any neighbours? To me it seems like you live in the middle of a forest...
