just a great example of how some minor keys thrown in can alter the mood of a composition so greatly... but at the same time I can FEEL the melancholic playing
Great art doesn't necessarily require a backbreaking, mind numbing amount of labor. Sheer creativity can be just as brilliant. These pieces are as technical as necessary. It's a relief after playing etudes all day to hear this. I am rambling.
The greatness of a painting is rarely contingent upon the amount of paint spread. In composing music, i find it all too easy to get caught up in overtelling "the story." Nobuo Uematsu is a masters class in minimalism.
I stumbled across this years ago and it blew me away. How many sleepless nights this soothed my weary mind... So melancholy and so beautiful. A true masterpiece. Dare I say exceeding the depth of emotion of the original arrangements?
Yo for real the world owes you a big thanks for recording this. It's so much easier on the ears than the original recordings, but retains the original flavor. the melancholy fight music helped me a side of the composition I never noticed before. Thank you so much for this gift to all the ff7 fans.
If someone who is full of spirit, life and peace was to ask me hey what game can I learn the most from, I will give them a copy of Final Fantasy 7 and say here you go it teaches you about government, war, exploitation, humanity, love, never giving up in a way that wasn't done before, so pure. 1:10:06 is one of my favorite themes "On Our Way", it was played when I arrived in Kalm in FF7. Love the soundtrack both the originals and the remakes like this of the soundtrack.
I was just thinking about/listening to that exact track when I saw your comment. I know I would see "the comments" no matter what song I was listening to, but I was also thinking the same thing! FFVII is an amazing teacher and the music is perfect. This game is the greatest. I can't wait to play the new one, it's coming soon!
I have told everybody who would listen since I was 15 that FF7 had the greatest story ever told in a video game. It should be a giant novel, timeless movie, etc. and even more of a pop culture phenomenon than it already is. First RPG I ever played by the way which obviously set the bar higher than I have ever reached since.
The remake and a lot of fan art tries to turn FF7 into anime. A lot of people think the FF franchise is anime but it's a totally different aesthetic - Celtic/Iranic and was originally pixel art. Amano's art is in the Japanese woodblock style, far from anime.
@@bennyskimHuge fan of FFVII, but I have no interest inplaying a game with boy-band looking character models. I don't get why more people aren't annoyed by this. I liked my low poly, non-voiced party from FFVII, I could intepret them how I wanted.
Yes it’s overly maximalist normura would have no idea how to make cordial it’s not in his purview. He hasn’t got the concepts of pacing or balance right in anything he’s done. He can drop a trailer. Make something insanely cool but he has no chill. I think he thinks that quiet is boring
It's absolutely beautiful but sometimes so much so that it hurts a little to listen to it as it reminds me so much of simpler times long gone. Fantastic work
Words Drowned By Fireworks is probably my favorite in this list. It's so heartfelt. The original was so full of emotion. Especially if you know it in context to the original scene from the game. So many feels I feel like I nearly choke up when I hear it. The tiny melodies playing off each other and the way so much potential is there but it will not end good. There's an innocence to the whole thing, yet so much melancholy knowing that everything must come to an end. And yet, everything comes back in the end, we recycle and merge and clash and will one day be star dust again. All of us. Ahhh. I can't wait til the remake comes out. I just know it can't do justice to the original.
Just wanted to say, I've been listening to your FF covers for close to 7years now. I'm also a lifelong FF fan. Anytime I get sad and nostalgic for the time when final fantasy meant more than just being a money spinner franchise for SE, I come listen to you. Most songs from most games bring a nostalgic tear to the eye, but your renditions are just so emotionally driven, there are a number of your versions I prefer to the original, even if I have a decade plus attachment to the original. Please, continue to put out great cover albums, as wel as your own incredible music
I started getting into Final Fantasy when I was in high school. Final Fantasy VII was my introduction into the franchise so it holds a very, very special place in my heart. I'm 38 now and I cannot believe I only just now stumbled across this channel. This music is so stunningly beautiful and emotional and I am absolutely in love with it. +1 subs. 🐰💜🐰💜🐰💜
Thank you so much. The From The Edge Of Despair you made and put on ITunes really helped me. I listened to it when I was depressed- it cleared my mind of depressing thoughts. That song helped me- a lot- if it wasn't for that song, I bet I'd still self harm. You have my thanks- all of it- because without that song, I'm not sure if I'd even be typing this. It means a lot and you didn't even realize. Thank you xx
You understand what music is and why we love it, and have enhanced these pieces in such a way that benefits those things without ruining the feel that is so special about the original pieces themselves.
Remember all those awsome and epic sounding dragonball z songs?? Like the ones that would play while you sat there anticipating the fight or when things became dire? Would be pretty nice hearing those played in this fashion!!
As a cellist and lover of both music and video games, these arrangements really speak to me. I listen to this music every time I am working on a project. It makes grad school seem that much easier. Thank you!
damn im listening to this while im working at the entrance of a big institute and everyone who comes to me loves the music :D considering of using this in the ambiente music playlist ;D
21 years ago, I got PS1 and FF7 for Christmas, loaded it up for the first time in years, now I want to play it again, but time is a factor. listening to this mix, and watching clips, is a good replacement for now.
Not sure why I love the version of Wutai so much here. Very powerful once it gets past the intro, slow, sad, and as everyone else has noted, haunting. Very nice!
I listen to this (one of four TPR albums) pretty much nightly on my phone on a low volume just to relax and relive the memories on a low-vibe...without all the random encounters and grinding.
TPR - your music has gotten me through a LOT of research papers and term papers. Thank you so much for making college easier to handle! Gorgeous, I love it.
This rendition of "From the Edge of Despair" playing over the scene of the party finding Cloud in the clinic was superb. Well done, thanks for creating/sharing this.
My cousin just passed away from cancer, we waited over 20 years for a remake, and he didnt live to get to even play rebirth yet. So, as it falls, I will be playing it for both of us, hoping hes watching.
Dude, aka TPR. I think many people have said this 2 you. But thanks for making these compilations for us. I didn't read any information about you. So I do not know if you are the pianist or just put them together. but Amen brother Amen. Ever since I played FF7 I find myself searching for a similair experience. I thought I found it in FF9 and later on in 10and a bit in twelfe. But non have come close to my experience with FF7. It's personal for everybody and I don't want to start an argument on the beter FF, nor am I going to react on people saying four or six is beter. It's all cool with me. The soundtracks of any FF that you post makes me feel it right in my soul. Some tracks make me have some tears in my eyes and everytime that happens I laugh because it comes from the experience of several epic videogames, how sick is that. Man all the memories we all share with the characters and their storylines. Thank you for that my man and keep up the good work.

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! A huge thank you to the people who created this amazing piece of art. It shows how much you love this game. We all loved it bk then and still do. I cant say the same for the remake i prefer my FFVII the one i know from that time in the 90's. Some things are better left untouched.-
I have barely played FF7, but I absolutely love your album. Thanks for this great service for the community. And you make it available for free! Amazing!
I wish I had the money, I would buy all of your cds, this music is absolutely amazing. I already own and loved the original version of the FFVII Melancholy Tribute, but this one is even better @.@.. Thank you very much for these renditions. Thank you especially for your rendition of my favorite song of all time: Interrupted by FIreworks. I honestly found your version to be even better than the original... I guess that makes your version my favorite song of all time.. well sorry for the rambliness, it is almost midnight here and I am exhausted, was listening to your music while doing some work and figured I'd drop a comment.

Everything about this game is melancholy for me, as I love it with my whole heart but can never play it again for the first time. Beautiful beyond words. Thank you so much for creating this
46:32 “Farm Boy” Is magical and makes me think of my Father’s rough upbringing in the tropical Amazon rainforest doing his best as the eldest brother of 9 to provide for his mom (my grandmother RIP!) and his Alcohol distiller/farmer father and his brothers and sisters. We made it!!!
Launching a dream into space sounds like something that would be played during a hero's funeral. Truly amazing and along with Dear to the heart my most favourite of your amazing work. Thank you

Okay Cosmo Canyon made me cry, that is not fair.

I stumbled across this years ago and it blew me away. How many sleepless nights this soothed my weary mind... So melancholy and so beautiful. A true masterpiece. Dare I say exceeding the depth of emotion of the original arrangements?
oh yes!! Dare to say it because I agree with you completely!
