    I bought a $700 digital piano and piano lessons at 38 years old because of you and this soundtrack. Hearing and seeing this video changed me from always wanting to learn an instrument as a life long dream that was never acted on, to my soul finally NEEDING to play an instrument to bring that dream to reality. Your work is the catalyst to spark my journey. I just got through my first month of lessons and practices. I can only practice 30 minutes a day, but it means more to me than anything. I'll never be able to repay the gift you've given to me Mr. TPR. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. -Ron

      I totally agree, the pace and addictive nature was top grade. for 16 bit, but Sega had awesome 16 bit Disney Games, remember Aladdin n Duck Tales.
      RPGs of SnES were just master pieces ff6 and mana are no exception.

      Especially when you put it together with Crono Cross. Once you see the complete story and how it actually all revolves around Schala, it is truly something epic. I wish they would do a remake that combines the two games into one.

    • @ScarletEdge
      @ScarletEdge 7 лет назад +2

      I would like to see a 3rd part, one in which Schala reunites with Serge. Wouldn't that be a treat?

    • @prirush8800
      @prirush8800 7 лет назад +7

      Making both games into ONE would be impossible, plus the amount of time, it would take to edit, and rearrange timelines, I'd be happy to see a ANIME, that plays as the games did, to help bring all story lines together, third part, had a rumor taking it's heroes, beyond the end of time, with Janus/Magus, as they did in trigger, to finally finish off lavos outside all possible timelines after the detachment of Schala from Lavos from Trigger and Cross, and finally putting a end to Lavos/Time Devour. I would love this to become a Anime, as in ATTACK ON TITAN, keep it dark with light humor to keep it grounded.

    You can't tell me that Frog's Theme isn't one of the greatest pieces of music for any game ever. It contains both hurt and hope, both light and dark. It's triumphant in it's bravado but not without the caution that painful experience will bring.

    37:20 Who else tried to lie at the trial and was completely caught red-handed? I was so SHOCKED when this happened!! When the witnesses came out and testified about what I did... Damn! I had NEVER seen a game do that before and it was SO trippy! Where in Zelda 3 did you have anyone complain about the pots you broke? Where in FFVI do you get called out for taking things from people's treasure boxes? The whole trial scene in this game was so unconventional and creative!

    My father bought this game for me when I was just a boy, he told me if I were to be like crono I was bound to find my marle. One of the last things he said to me, when I reached 22 years old I completed it for the first time. I was always so scared to see this story end. I wished I never done that. I love this game from the bottom of my heart.

      Don't think that way at all... just like the Entity may have pulled Chrono and the others through time... so you... and all of us were compelled to complete the story, and the journey... and maybe even for all of us to meet here as well. Look at all the comments about people remembering the past and plans to share this journey with their children. Being apart of this isn't something to regret at all, in my opinion. Now, go out and live your life. Live YOUR story.

    Fact: when composing the music for this game, Yasunori Mitsuda's computer got fried and he lost the entirety of his work (-the soundtrack was mostly complete, too!). He had to recompose it again within a very short timeline, which led to much stress and him having to step down when he became really ill as a result. Uematsu stepped in to finish the rest of the soundtrack. I wonder how similar/different the original soundtrack was??? Hmm...

    • @kaukolsothy9919
      @kaukolsothy9919 5 лет назад +11

      I remember saving money from chores to buy it on release day. I was 14 when it came out. I still have the cartridge somewhere.
      The game is timeless not just for it's awesome music. It has a great story, a good art style, good graphics for it's time, and multiple endings.
      It's not just a good example of the beautiful music that came from the RPG's of the era, it's arguably the best example of a 90's RPG.
      FFVI and similar RPG's are good but too slow for some. Secret of Mana and Zelda are good but all action and relatively light on story. Chrono Trigger sits perfectly in the middle of their play styles while adding a colorful anime-like art style. The amazing music just cemented it's timelessness.

      Anyway, I ended up ordering a Japanese copy of the Xenogears soundtrack because I loved it so much. Took six weeks to get shipped, and it was like $40, weeks of chores. You're right. That's the power of Yasunori Mitsuda... and a good game in general!

    This wonderful arrangements reminds me of one of the beautiful facets of the game; the essential mood of dread and hopelessness that was captured - due in no small part to the music, the situation of "against all odds" that so many other works of fiction *say* is happening but never actually convey that feeling.
    And despite the sense of inevitable loss and isolation, having just a rag-tag team of oddball characters from all across time, they have the courage to face a horror beyond their comprehension, while their death or victory will go unnoticed by the world.

    Acho a trilha sonora do Chrono Trigger uma obra de arte. Não é a toa que muitas Filarmônicas, Orquestras e outros grupos musicais fazem interpretações até hoje dessas peças. Acabei de conhecer esse álbum End of Time agora e fico impressionado em ver que a chama desse jogo ainda se mantém viva. O game é da década de noventa e esse álbum é de 2015, ou seja, mais de vinte anos se passaram e ainda assim a magia desse jogo continua forte. Chega me emociono, é muita nostalgia.
    Belo álbum, gostei mesmo, estou escutando ele neste exato momento e escrevendo esse pequeno texto.

    not sure what it is about to far away times. One of the best songs written, yet so very depressing at times, maybe cause its the crew breaking up and going back to their own times. Maybe its just music evoking that emotion. Absolutely outstanding....it is almost a shame that games like this one will NEVER again exist....Square Soft was something very, very special....a special group of individuals who made RPGs that mean much to me because they were part of my childhood...these games made me feel like I was part of the adventure...like a fantastic book in which I could emerge....Final Fantasy 6, Chrono Trigger, Sectret of Mana, Seiken Densetsu 2, Star Ocean...incredible games with incredible characters, stories, music and in its time the graphics were top notch. Im glad I grew up with some of these games....and also the Computer RPGs from Europe which were darker but also fantastic. I remember playing Eye of the Beholder 2, Wizardry 7, Das Schwarze Auge ( Commodore Amiga, German RPG ) and other great games that I played in-between playing outside with my friends, exploring nature, playing soccer and just enjoying life...Im glad I was part of the 80ies and 90ies...and young enough to enjoy these years.
    PS= This is a fantastic interpretation and deserves praise of the highest kind. This could be a Soundtrack for a movie...

      Did you know, some people who worked on chrono trigger worked on Studio Ghibli movies too?
      Did you know, akira toriyama (Dragonball) drawed the characters of chrono trigger?
      Did you know, that Chrono Trigger is probably the best RPG of all time?

    I... I think I played this as a child... It's like a long forgotten dream reamerging in a blurry mist. I can't remember more than the feeling of wonder I got from playing this, and the music is tugging at my heart in such a strange and profound way. I wish I remembered. I feel like I lost something beautiful and precious.

    I just thought to listen to this masterpiece while I'm doing college essays. When I heard the sound of the clock in the beginning, I was already having goosebumps, and my mind was flooded with memories that I have with this game. I never regretted that I replayed Chrono Trigger a lot of times before when I was a kid when I still had a lot of spare time... I love Chrono Trigger and it will be my only favorite game no matter how much I played lots of different and amazing games in my life...

    Singing Mountain.... Ever since I first heard this song I have been obsessed with it.... Why did they not keep it in the game? Why? Can you imagine how the Mountain of Woe or the Overworld of 12,000 B.C. would have been like with this song playing?! Dear god, I could just die... Mental images... DAMMIT SQUARE!!! YOU NEED TO RE-MAKE THIS GAME AND STICK THIS SONG IN AT SOME POINT!!! You're already giving us FFVII...give us this too...

    Thank You for this, sincerely from the bottom of my heart. Chronos soundtrack is so pure I cannot stand most recorded piano work of this game. Its too close to my heart. But Yours... Yours is life itself and so true to the FEELING of Chrono Trigger and the essence of what it speaks to the player and fan alike. I have played this game thru more times than I care to count, as a child, teen and then adult. It grew with me, I grew with it. As a fellow player and skilled, life long musician/ composer/ music lover and aficionado, I feel Your understanding for the work and what it conveys, your approach completely encompasses the scope of the work of Yasunori Mitsuda and I dare say, expands on it, by its depth and profound solitude and magnitude, the longing and release into stardust and cosmic endlessness, moksha, the infinity, truth, humility, and scope it conveys... the emotive quality is accurate to a T, and THEN SOME!!! A truly mastered endeavor!!! 🎉BRAVO!!! Bravissimo!!! And a Standing ovation is in order!!! This rendition could be the culmination of so many peoples lifes work... 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊🎉🥹🥲👏🪄💫
