USA: LOS ANGELES ZOO: ZOE THE CHIMP MAKES FRIENDS

A baby chimpanzee has found some new friends to play with at a Los Angeles Zoo in the United States.
Three month old Zoe was transferred from Florida to Los Angeles after her mother failed to care for her.
But now after a month of quarantine she has been introduced into the chimpanzee enclosure.
Zoe was transferred from Florida to Los Angeles' zoo after she was abandoned by her mother
After being released from quarantine on Wednesday, the three month old chimp met some new playmates to grow up with in the zoo.
Zoe will be living with six month old Jean and five month old Jake - both of whom were surprise births at the zoo.
The introduction went just fine - despite some playful bullying by Jake.

"I think that his older sister, you know, kind of rules the roost and I think that he is looking forward to having somebody that he can kind of push around a little bit, but he was all smiles and so was Zoe and I think it went really well. That's how they play, they play rough and they roll all over the place and Zoe was great, she thought it was great."

All three chimps will be hand raised in the Zoo's nursery until they are old enough to be assimilated into a Chimpanzee troop.
