      Qimir is a Ren not a Sith, he refers to his pupil an Acolyte not an Apprentice coz he never consider himself as Sith, he said he has no name coz there's no terminology for a Ren at that time.

    The Jedi had thought the Sith were extinct for 1000 years, prior to The Phantom Menace. This show takes place 100 years before The Phantom Menace so 900 years after the Sith's supposed extinction, the Sith survived in hiding for that long by abiding by the Rule of Two, this as far as we know is the first time the Jedi have encountered a Sith for 900 years, so no Qimir is not the first Sith he's one in a long line of Sith.

    • @camdamelio4334
      @camdamelio4334 3 месяца назад +77

      That's why Qimir said that they all had to die, to keep the Sith's existence a secret from the Jedi Order, which we know will last for another 100 years. The Jedi master that you mentioned from the previous episode is Master Ki-Adi Mundi who is from the prequels. He said the line about the Sith being extinct for a millennium in The Phantom Menace but it's not really a retcon because they never mentioned the Sith during his scene.

    I dunno why everyone is missing the point of Mae..
    Mae was willing to go to Kelnacca and apologize for her sins and wait for the Jedi to pick her up.
    But he's dead. And the Jedi think she killed him
    So her only option is to let the master and Jedi duke it out, and try to escape.
    Meanwhile the reason why the master left the fights, he only wants Mae. The Jedi don't know he's a sith, so he's only focused on Mae.
    So when his mask comes off he immediately goes for the kill shot.
    Plus he's egotistical and prideful and 100% the apprentice, wanting his own pupil so he can become the master.
    I mean I understand the story isn't that well written but the character motive made perfect sense to me

    • @lockekappa500
      @lockekappa500 3 месяца назад +11

      So I'm confused. He wants a pupil but senses that Mae no longer will come with him because she found hope in her sister, right? So he now wants to kill her. Is he now hoping he can turn Osha, is that why he's keeping her alive? I assume Osha's memory of what happened is false, and Qimir will show her the true events of that night. ... But Mae’s already killed other Jedi before Kelnacca. Two of them. And was still intending to turn herself in before the Kelnacca moment. So why would them thinking she killed one more Jedi change anything? Mae’s motivations feel extremely bipolar and make zero sense to me.
      And then if the Jedi actually played a bigger role in killing the twins family (which they’re strongly hinting at) -- it makes even less sense why Mae would have that moment of wanting to turn herself in. She’s been seeking vengeance all this time. Kills two Jedi. Finds out her sisters alive. Suddenly is fine with the Jedi and down to turn herself in because Osha’s alive and being with her sister is her priority. And then proceeds to... secretly take Osha’s place and leave Osha behind with the Sith? I just cant see anyway for the rest of the story to explain away these decisions.

    You guys are so focused on finding faults, it's no wonder you can't enjoy watching any new Star Wars material. Imagine if someone was telling a great campfire story and everyone was capitavated by the tale and the flames and the orator's delivery and the stars above, breathlessly awaiting the next event... and then you showed up and chimed in, questioning the events and challenging the orator...
    Complete buzz-kill. And nothing says "insecure nerds looking for affirmation" more than video commentaries acting like they're smarter than the creators of the story and laughing about how silly it all is.
    Actual writers put time and energy and heart into creating this story. As did all the other actors, producers, and physical facilitators. There are young people at home, excitedly watching these episodes at home- maybe pointing out their name in the end credits to their kids.
    I personally thought ep.5 was pretty baddass. Sure, I noticed things... like I don't think those trees would've fallen backward against the angle of the cuts they received.
    But please shoot me if I ever become the guy pointing that out while everyone else is just trying to enjoy the movie.

    • @popinjayishuman
      @popinjayishuman 3 месяца назад

      Genuine question: If you don’t like commentary on media then why are you watching a RUclips channel that is about commentating and reacting to clips from the episodes instead of just watching the episodes yourself and taking it in? Why intentionally come here and make yourself angry then lash out at people when you knew ahead of time you didn’t want to hear other opinions? Most of us come here after watching the episode ourselves to hear other people’s thoughts and express ourselves own/discuss film because we enjoy it. If that doesn’t interest you that’s completely valid but I don’t understand why you felt the need to be a jerk to others and wind yourself up when you could have avoided the whole thing by just not clicking on the video in the first place. If you are not in a great place right now I know it’s hard, sometimes you just need to vent but there are other human beings on the other end of the comments section. Those people are affected by what you say. There are better ways to cope with emotional distress than taking it out on others. I hope you are able to find a more positive way to express yourself in the future. Wishing you all the best!

      As a diehard fan myself, even I am able to recognize that this franchise is filled with some of the same critiques that the acolyte has. Just the other day some supposed “fan” really tried to make the point that the Jedi not sensing Qimir showed how bad they are and how badly written the show is. That very “fan” for some reason failed to realize that that has already happened once before. In the prequels when the Jedi are all sat around Palpatine they are just not sensing him at all. So yeah, Star Wars has always had this kind of stuff.

    Ki-Adi-Mundi says that there hasn't been a Sith seen in 1000 years or something of that nature and, as of this episode, he still hasn't seen one. So, it really depends on what Sol reports or how the rest of the show goes down. We've already seen the Jedi covering things up, so even if Sol reports seeing a Sith, I can absolutely believe that it gets covered up. Especially since, dark side users with red lightsabers don't automatically mean Sith. I mean, they questioned whether Maul was a Sith after all.

      Yes, it has and this is something that I think even the most diehard of diehard Star Wars fans or at least fans that think their fans these days failed to forget. Star Wars has always been inundated with plot holes, silly stuff, and cheesy dialogue that doesn’t really come off that great. I think even when George was making those prequels, his major focus was really to tell a good story and have enjoyment to it. He didn’t really care that much about dialogue and directing actors which has been proven if you’ve listened to him in interviews. That’s why I always referred to the prequels as entertainingly bad movies.

    Best episode so far. I have to ask though with a budget so high, and a decent cast of people, wouldn’t the show have been way better if they took their time with each episode, given more time for character development, the deaths would have been way more heartfelt. Qimir in one episode, despite how poorly they tried to conceal his truth, was leagues more menacing than kylo ren. There’s moments of brilliance here kind of ruined by underwhelming storytelling. 6/10 for this one. Qimir is top character, Sol in second. Jecki was also my favorite, I didn’t like Yord but his death was so brutal I felt so bad.

The Jedi Killer. What happened on Brendok. Now the Stranger. These are all layers of the onion. Each reveal opens up new questions. This reveal of Qimir was NOT the twist. At all. We still have to reconcile POVs from the Brendok massacre. And even then - I STILL don't think that's going to be the huge reveal. Leslye said in an interview that she had fun putting so many clues in each episode that once you get the big reveal, you'd have to go back to each episode to realize it's been there the whole time. So, I don't think that anything before the final episode - is a consequential reveal to the larger mystery.

    Wait a damn min.... He kills like 7 Jedi but loses to moths. And how is he a Sith? The Sith are only 2, Master & Apprentice and they are in hiding. But it's a Sith running around killing Jedi 100 years before Mauls reveal? How? who taught him? Is this Tenebrous or Plagueis? How does Ki Adi think the Sith have been extinct for 1000 years, if a possible Maul level Sith was running around in his lifetime? And where the f*ck was Sol while all those garbage Jedi were being killed? This just make the Jedi look like weak fodder and incompetent. How is Sol not trying to contact the Jedi Council and warn of the return of the Sith?

    I’ve seen a lot of reactors care too much about “breaking lore”, and that’s just not really where the show falters. The problem with the show is the pacing. I think this story, the way they’re doing it, works a lot better in a movie format. Instead things are stretched out even though the episodes are short, and they’re just circling over and over around the mystery of what happened that night. You’re right, I just don’t really care about the characters. Even though it’s been 4 episodes, we hardly know any of them, in part because their entire identities revolve around that mystery and they aren’t willing to divulge what happened yet. The pay off needs to be HUGE to surmount what we haven’t gotten, but at this point it might be too late. “Not enough” is how I would summarize it.

    It's sad Qimir was a sith and he kills everyone including Jecki.
    I killed them. I killed the Jedi. Every single one of them, and not just the men, the women and the children too. They're like animals. So I slaughter them like animals. I hate them! I miss Anakin's quote on EP2 on the Attack of the Clones.

    The action choreography in this series has been extremely good. This episode in particular, reminds me SO MUCH of the cinematics for the video game Star Wars: The Old Republic. Darth Teeth had some Malgus level cold blooded ruthlessness as well as abilities. Favorite episode by far so far, but I think it's skewed by the incredible action sequences lol

    She was going to turn herself in when she thought her Master was nowhere near there and the Jedi would be the safest bet. But now that her Master is there, that means she believes he will defeat all the Jedi and if the Jedi arrest her and keep her there, she dies too for betraying him. Her mission now is just to get the hell out of there to avoid dying.

    I really enjoy the series and love what it is trying to tell...
    It's very fascinating to me in every way.
    The series is trying to explore very specific philosophical themes around this twisted "game of power" (the force) and who's got the right to wield it and why ; but also that it goes beyond "good and bad" ; and themes such as "the freedom of choice" and things like that... So yeah, I think we delve into the alternate paths that exist beyond the Jedi way, with at its core the seeds of a dramatic outcome for the galaxy in its entirety.
    This very episode clearly shows the extent of the damages caused by certain specific events (related to the force and questions about its wielders) and their ripples in time...
    [all the Jedi who die in this episode weren't present during the tragic events of Episode 3, but they pay the consequences of their elders, in a way]
    I think this series is powerful in many various and subtle ways [so much so that it's not appreciated by a share of the audience (but I also see many people like me who love it and what it's trying to do/say)].
    ...And this episode, of course I really loved, I found it Impactful on various layers and for episodes to come...
    *And I care about the story and characters, then of course this episode is a huge and devastating punch in the face, even if, again, I really love what the show is trying to tell regarding the consequences of the rules applied to the "force wielding"...
    **This being said :
    Fyi, you guys, Star Wars has ALWAYS BEEN a soap opera ("space opera", to be more precise). And yeah, even if more adult themes have been explored in recent years, it nonetheless ALWAYS HAS BEEN made for kids to begin with... But it's just that it has become a global phenomenon and tons of people have a feeling of ownership over it, therefore they make a huge deal out of any slightest detail/event that occurs (PS : I'm myself a huge fan of SW)... But it's mainly meant to be entertaining adventures that offer escapism and stuffs like this. It's not supposed to be The Godfather or Shawshank Redemption.

    I really enjoyed this episode. But I definitely felt like when the fight stopped and it went back to Mae and Osha being our primary focus it lost me a bit, their flashback story is not interesting enough to me, hopefully we get more of the Sith aspect next episode considering Osha is now with Qimir and that might make it feel a lot more interesting.
    Also that fight was just so intense, brutal and so well done, I hope they bring in the people who do the choreography for this show into Ahsoka S2, all the movement felt so smooth and like they were actually trying to kill each other. I liked the Ahsoka vs Baylan fight because it felt like a Samurai vs a Knight but whenever they fought other enemies in that show it felt so weak.

    I’m really enjoying the show tbh, but I think it has two fundamental flaws that a lot of the other Disney+ shows have,
    First, it’s so clear it was originally written as a movie. From the first episode I thought the abrupt ends of each episode were a weird choice, and that plus a few scenes that break the flow really give the impression that it was a movie first, and hastily padded out a bit to fit an 8-episode format
    Second, this show is releasing weekly. That may be the worst way to release a mystery show, especially one in the Star Wars ip. In the week between each episode, watchers are taken out of the mystery and takes away the mystique, meaning reveals like in this episode don’t have nearly as much impact as it would if you were binging it. Releasing it all at once might’ve even diminished just how extreme the review-bombing has been so far

    Manny jacinto as a sith was way too hot and the choreography in this episode was way too damn good. Plus all the kills was brutal as fuck. I do agree with Ur review. I think the show has some cool concepts but the execution in regards to dialogue and directing are not living upto the ideas the show has. It's a little disappointing but to me the show is just kinda mid. Though it did get me into the high republic books which has been a lot better for me.
