The thirteen warriors were called the thirteen primes and were seen by future generations as sort of Jesus figures. There was the thirteenth prime who has no known name like the other twelve. The matrix of leadership was passed down by the thirteenth prime granting those who it chooses the title of prime. It is also known that the thirteenth prime sacrificed himself to create the well of sparks that gave birth to future generations of transformers. It is also implied that the thirteenth prime was reincarnated as Orion Pax, who later came to be known as Optimus Prime.

Transformers is actually worth covering as it is starting to come back into the limelight. The success of the Bumblebee movie, the forthcoming cinematic reboot, the Transformers Universe Online game is also very popular in the East and now the Netflix anime all show a revival is taking place.

OMG Yes, please! Long time fan of both, your channel and TransFormers, here and would love to see you covering more TF stuff. I don't know if to call this origin the most popular but it's definitely the first, and the one from pretty much all others derive from. And yeah, for a super short and concise breakdown, every time TransFormers puts out a new toy-line, comic or tv series/movie, the creative team is pretty much allowed to respect, retcon, or totally come up with a new continuity. Every new piece of media could be its own thing, but also coexist with any other thing before in a sort of modular type of continuity, that also expands to one of the craziest multiverse out there. IDW has published the best regarded stories in comic form for the last 15 years and those are beautifully collected in two phases of omnibuses, expensive and hard to come by in physical form, although totally worth it, but always available in digital by official means. Those comics you mentioned last in the video is what eventually might end up being phase 3, but also, in 2015 there was 'The Shroud', an editorial event that tried to put an end to the multiverse aspect of the franchise, so most media created since then is new universes and continuities [almost/supposedly] totally independent of everything that came before. Edit- I would love for Rob to do a video about Maximals and Predacons, the descendants of Autobots and Decepticons. I always was huge fan of Beast Wars growing up. Kinda dissapointing we don't see too much of that era in comics these days.

Beast wars is the culmination of the hour before I went to elementary school. My childhood summed up. The action figures, there was only like 5 that I didn’t have.

I was pretty sad when the multiplayer died in that game.
MrJellyton I know I contributed to killing lobbies on Xbox one but people were leaving because of how alpha stage everything was classes resetting weapons dealing way too much damage and peer to peer connection but I still hail that game as a gem same with wfc they both deserve proper remasters
@@voiceofprimus9474 Yeah the balance in both games was atrocious lmao destroyer does way too much damage. But they were a huge part of my childhood so a remaster would be delightful. It's never gonna happen though after Activision no longer having the licence and pulling every game from online stores.
I've been waiting for this for a year, and I'm excited to see how Netflix's Transformers series will turn out, I didn't even realize they released a trailer for it today. I personally prefer the origin from Transformers: Prime, which is the best show to watch in terms of Transformers Rob so I think you should watch it

@@tigerbread78 it's not out yet, but it's coming soon, there's a trailer out right now on Netflix's RUclips channel, it looks like it'll be good, but they chose not to have Peter Cullen and Frank Welker as Prime and Megatron which I felt took a lot away from it
The creation of the Transformers multiverse via the Big Bang was further explained by Vector Prime, the guardian of space-time, and one of the 13 Primes created by Primus. Vector explained that there once existed an eldrich entity known as Mogahn the Mass, a being who travelled between realities and merged all the stars, planets, life forms, and everything else with its own mass to increase its own size and power. Vector battled the Mass across infinite realities, eventually managing to steal its sword and reforge it into one that could cut through time itself. Vector freed the souls of those that were consumed by the Mass and then used his sword to send its remains back to the beginning of time. Mogahn the Mass's destruction at the beginning of time is the event which came to be known as the Big Bang.
What doesn’t make sense is that vector was created by Primus only after fighting Unicron which took place after the Big Bang so how would Vector have existed:

I recommend the channel Chris McFeely for those interested in lore and various incarnations of specific characters of Transformers. His "The basics of..." series have been ripped, subtitled and reuploaded in Chinese platforms, put it that way.

Enjoyed this gidto & subscribed as a result! This origin story in particular the battle between Primus & Unicron was one of my favourite stories from the comics!
I'd say you should cover idw's first transformers run since you already covered All Hail Megatron. There are a few things you missed before then, but most of it is explained in later stories. If you do finish AHM, I'd recommend reading Megatron: Origins, as it covers the basics as to why the war started, and Spotlight Shockwave, as it has plot elements that play into the rest of IDW's run. After that just cover them based on their release order to not spoil anything. It would then be the Last Stand of the Wreckers by Nick Roche, and then the Transformers ongoing by Mike Costa and later James Roberts. After that, it's the Death of Optimus Prime (not really) oneshot that splits into John Barbers Robots in Disguise and James Roberts More Than Meets The Eye, and if you love continuity you'll love these guys.
This is exactly what I was going to recommend in this order yes all of the above @Comics Explained yes this right here!!! Man, you really hit the nail on the head @Brandis! If someone wanted to know the history of Transformers this is it.

Chris McFeely knows a bunch of stuff. I believe he also controls the transformer wiki page, so he’s an amazing resource.
The IDW comics recently had a reboot, but it had a decent continuity from 06-19. All hail megatron, MTMTE, Wreckers, Drift. Its a bunch of mini series stuff all within the (eventually) 2 main titles. Then branching off again. There’s a lot, but the IDW comics collection lays it out for you.
Something fans who love the franchise but didnt read the comics might want to know why Megatron turned Autobot? Its an interesting story.
Nick Roche is an awesome story teller and world builder, and it invited a lot of new people into Transformers.
Or just go old skool and start with Marvel. Not as nuanced, but still fun, just make sure to slot the first 5 year's worth of UK stories in as you go, it blends in quite well.
All Hail Megatron was probably my favorite series! I can read that series over and over again!
except nick roche didn't write the story about megatron turning autobot, it was james roberts. I only know nick roche worked on all three parts of the wreckers saga

I always preferred this origin myself. I loved that when the events of the battle between the transformers and Unicron happened, Optimus came to realization that Primus did not create them to only fight in his place. He made them to continue on after the sacrifice Primus knew he would have to make. He did not create them to die... he created them to live.

Yo! I'm so glad you're doing this! I'm a huge fan of the Transformers, but I admit my fandom kinda stalls after G1. I went from knowing everything to taking some time off and coming back to transforming animals. Every time I tried to rekindle my love for Transformers, it always seemed like waaaaay more info than I was prepared for. Thank you for doing this series.
Transformers Comics fans right now : "Ohh Rob man, lemme tell ya somethin' man LEMME TELL YA SOMETHIN!" In all honesty though the previous IDW run was one of the strongest runs of Transformers comics I can remember there being. So many characters, both old and new that became favourites :D
You should do a story about the Ultraverse, especially on Prime!
Honestly I'm excited to see you branch out and do other companies besides the big two. Also just a tidbit about the primes as I find this interesting: when a new prime is annointed, they change similarly to the way whosoever is worthy of thors hammer changes. The only difference is the change is permanent. They also gain all the knowledge of all the past primes through the matrix of leadership. So excited to see where you go from here!

YUP. Ive had a very hard time taking to anything from marvel since hickmans "time runs out" saga finished up. even the recent x men relaunch went sour on me and ive been into that book since the 80s. its like everyone at marvel has forgotten how to do a superhero comic. :D

Transformers is one hell of a great series to get into, and you being a comic channel certainly have a lot of stuff to work with. We’ve got a gold mine of potential content and audience you’ll be able to tap into
Great show Rob. If you want some suggestions on comics other than Marvel/DC, I could go on forever. Here are some that I personally enjoy or might be relevant.
1. Warrior Nun Areala from Antarctic Press. It's got a Netflix series coming.
2. Michael Turner's first Fathom story arc while he was still with Top Cow.
3. For a Star Wars story with some humor, check out Kevin Rubio's Star Wars: Tag and Bink are Dead.
4. There's plenty of Manga out there, but if you want something short and humorous check out Azumanga Daioh.
5. Todd McFarlane and Clayton Crain did a series called Savior where the Messiah arrives in modern times.
Hellboy, Crossgen, Valiant, Red Star, Gen 13, the list goes on and on. Keep up the good work.

I would LOVE to see some IDW Transformers comics being shared via this channel. I haven't read a whole whole lot of them but I have loved every story I read from the very long series.
You really should go deep into the Transformers mythos. They're really cool and deep with all the stuffs around Primus, Nova Prime, Shockwave, etc. Especially IDW Transformers, that series is just amazing
