You Cannot Afford It (الدَّيْن - Debt) | Abu Mussab Wajdi Akkari

It was narrated from ‘Aa’ishah (radia’Allaahu ‘anha) that
the Prophet (salla’Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) used to say in his prayer:
( اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْمَأْثَمِ وَالْمَغْرَمِ . فَقَالَ لَهُ قَائِلٌ :
مَا أَكْثَرَ مَا تَسْتَعِيذُ مِنَ الْمَغْرَمِ ؟! فَقَالَ : إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ إِذَا غَرِمَ [أي : استدان] حَدَّثَ فَكَذَبَ ، وَوَعَدَ فَأَخْلَفَ )
“Allaahumma inni a’oodhi bika min al-ma’tham wa’l-maghram
(O Allaah, I seek refuge with You from sin and heavy debt).”

this video pushed me to pay back money I owed from over a year ago. I enjoyed abu mussab's story about how he came to jeddah, it gave me hope. this is an excellent channel mashallah. if i ever go to saudi arabia again im going to try to find abu mussab at the dawah center and personally thank him for helping me to get on a better path.

Literally hundreds of millions of people across the globe (if not billions) today are suffering on account of falling into the debt trap - stuck in riba loans, mortgages, bank loans, etc and also debt owed to family and friends which has no riba but which poisoned relationships etc on account of delays in repaying. It’s amazing how Islam emphasized empathically 1400 years ago to avoid debt or to be very vigilant about repaying it.
