  • Words to describe Hoi An: lanterns, tailors, and GOOD food! I enjoyed my time in Hoi An so much that I also extended my stay by 2 days (also partially due to Typhoon Yagi in Northern Vietnam). During my time here I got my very own tailor made dress from Sewing Bee tailor shop and custom ring, went on a coconut boat tour and caught a crab with a stick and string, biked around the rice fields, finally tried pottery at the pottery village, learned about the history of Hoi An and relationship with Japan and China and of course ate a lot of good food. Cau Lau which is a noodle dish only central to Hoi A may be one of my new favorite Vietnamese dishes. I also loved the Banh Mi from Banh Mi Queen and Banh Con from Co Thu BBQ. Can't forget all the different types of coffees offered and the view of the ancient city at night. It is so magical with all the lit up lanterns floating in the river. No wonder everyone says it is one of their favorite parts of Vietnam!
