Baccarat 540 was the perfume I purchased for myself for my wedding. It is the fragrance I associate with such a lovely day surrounded by my family. It is stunning. Complex but not in a pretentious old lady way. More of a sitting in your bridal suite surrounded by fresh flowers way...it is timeless, day, night, formal and casual. It is delightful.
I am so excited for this because I also collect fragrance. It has become even more important during this period of isolation because even when not wearing makeup,perfume makes me feel beautiful and I make a point to wear it every day. Thanks for sharing 💕

Btw, Michele, I'm learning to make scented candles. The wax changes a lot the perfume/essence notes we add to it, it's very tricky. That's why the perfume is a bit different from the candle scent.

I love how I'm not the only one who associates scents with color. I'm definitely a pink/red (berries, red apple, rose, red currant) type of gal, but I definitely also love my orange scents in the summer

Since quarantine started, I’ve also gotten (overly) into fragrance. I’m talking going from 10 key perfumes to 35~ 🙈 I’m into fresh, citrusy, woodsy scents so 95% of my perfumes probably smell the same, haha. But goodness, as much as a I love fragrance, I never thought I’d go so crazy for it, especially with no where to go.
Byredo d’afrique is beautiful also. My mother and I have been into perfumes all our lives. We are also collectors as well. My mom has a room just for her thousands of perfume. (She prefers niche fragrances and does not like celebrity scents.) I have a couple hundred. My all time Faves are actually everything Mugler! I love that Angel Eau de Parfum is strong! And ones I have been really into lately Burberry Her Parfum & Toilette. The only Jo Malone I have is Silk Blossom.
Re: the Burberry Her, do you prefer the EDP or EDT? I can’t decide which I’d rather have.
I kinda prefer the Toilette, but if you want it stronger go for parfum. Even if you buy the parfum it is not overpowering! You will love it!
Omg its so interesting because I have gone from like 0 to 100 in terms of interest in fragrance since lockdown! I just want to try all the perfumes and learn all about the notes and compositions. I used to have about 5 perfumes in my collection at any given time and now I'm like 20 deep with no intentions of stopping 🙃

Haha!! I'm on the opposite side of the spectrum! I like my fragrances bold, dark and dramatic!😂😂😂I can't stand bright and citrusy scents! They smell sour on my skin! Beautiful collection nonetheless!
I had to make one more comment. I think you will just LOVE Creed Aventus for Her, its my favourite for spring and summer and honestly even fall. I also would highly recommend Byredo Bal D’ Afrique, amazing.
I absolutely think lockdown has pushed many of us who enjoyed fragrances before into frag head territory. Something about scent and its power to transport, maybe? Regardless, my collection has grown since March as has the number of fragrance channels I watch. Thoroughly enjoyed this video and love this lip color! 💋

The Baccarat 540 is nice, but I prefer the Extrait-the addition of the bitter almond really makes it extra special. With the Bois de Balincourt, I find that layering with other equally simple fragrances makes it more appealing and interesting to wear. Not sure if you’ve tried the Armani Privee line, or Frederic Malle, but several wonderful fragrances in those lines.
I’m surprised you don’t have any Tom Ford perfumes.

These are mostly perfumes she has received as gifts (such as the entire house of sillage collection) except the Jo Malone and the ones she goes hunting for like the Guerlain + La Violette.
Tom Ford doesn’t last on me. It I do have his lost cherry that I enjoy
@@mariac1437 I LOVE Lost cherry and I have a 30ml decant. It doesn't last long on me either, I spray like 20 sprays until my clothes are completely drenched.
I love layering it with the leather one.
I love love LOVE eau de soliel blanc but it doesn’t last long at all on my skin. But it’s SO AMAZING that I don’t care, lol

I’m fascinated you like Byredo Pulp. I love citrus based scents usually and When I smelled the tester I thought Pulp was so sweet I actually shuddered!!! Scents are so subjective 🤣🤣🤣

Interesting collection. There are more “typical” fragrances like Bond, Le Labo, Frederic Malle or Serge Lutens that I would have expected to see in your collection.
Michele I enjoy your Chanel so much. Thankyou for all your hard work. I have searched for a perfume that smells like Gardenia for years never found it. I bought Chanel gardenia and whilst it smells beautiful it does not last long as I like a strong expensive perfume.

I love this video so much. I love that you associate colors with the scents. I’ve been wearing Jo Malone Wild Fig & Cassis every day since 2002. I bought it at Barney’s after on my first big NYC gig. It’s so sentimental to me and I don’t feel complete without it! To me, it smells like a deep aubergine color with a green shift. 💕
I'm surprised that we have a similar taste on fragrances! I love citrus/bergamot notes, you should try Maison Margiela - Under the lemon tree, Penhaligon's - Empressa, and Le Labo - Bergmanote 22. They're my favourite perfumes that you definitely would enjoy.
Penhaligons does one of my all time favourite perfumes Halfeti but is more masculine but I love it. My sis in law loves Juniper Sling, that is lovely but sweet for me.

Great vid, Michele! I'm a huge fan of perfumes. One of my all time faves is Gardenia Passion by Annick Goutal. I have my eye on Tubereuse by Tom Ford.

I have been getting into fragrances since covid too I think it’s been uplifting and helps during times being in lockdown and not being able to get out and smell things like nature, flowers, etc. I think that’s why I started getting into it more and now it’s become another thing to start collecting. You should try a few houses of fragrance that I absolutely love: Juliet has a gun (my most fav from them are “not a perfume” and “uhmmm”) By Rosie Jane (my fav from them is Rosie) Altelier Cologne (my fav is Cafe Tuberosa) Tom Ford (my fav is Ombré Leather) and Clinique Calyx !

I feel like my scent taste is similar to yours. Have you ever tried diptyque L’Ombre dans l’Eau? It’s a fruity floral and very fresh/clean scent. One of my favorites! Also Atelier Clementine California is a beautiful fresh, sweet citrus scent that I love for summer. Both are worth checking out!

I was about to recommend Diptyque l'ombre dans l'eau too! My favorite fragrance at the moment. Definitely a fruity floral. Also recommend Armani Prive Orangerie Venise. Very citrusy which I love and you seem to love as well.

Thank you for this video, Michele. Perfumes are tricky for me. I like a nice a light scent, but not floral. I struggle with migraines, so I stay away from strong scents. This detailed informative video is extremely helpful for me.
Actually I did a tour in one of the perfume factories in Grasse, France. The tour guide told us that most of the perfume masters are men because women change their perception of scent (if that makes sense) due to periods🙀 The hormones they say play a big roll in that. I don’t know if it has any scientific bases but it was interesting! But yeah, I also have many perfumes that I loved or hated at first but got to change my opinion later.
This is really interesting! I've had several friends say that their tastes in fragrance either significantly or totally changed during and just after pregnancy, so much so that one friend had to get rid of all of her fragrances because she couldn't stand them any more 😱😢

JM English oak and redcurrant is my go to for winter, I ADORE orange blossom for its citrussy warmth. I agree english pear and freesia works very well as a candle, perfect for spring
Michelle, you did such a wonderful job of explaining the fragrances, not easy to do but I think you nailed it. May I suggest trying to layer the Jo Malone Orange Blossom which I am not a fan of on its own but layering it with other Jo Malone fragrances really changes it, play with it. I really love that we have the same nose for scents!! I usually hate other people recommendations Bc they are sooo powdery or floral, where as I like bright, citrus type, aquatic scents. Love you!!
Nice collection!! A little trick I learned when I want to wear a more potent fragrance, I just spray it a few inches in front of me and then walk through the mist, that way it is not as direct on my skin or clothes, it is more dispersed and light.

I don't know that I've encountered another content creator who describes fragrance as well as you do - this was such a pleasure to watch and I'm looking forward to digging deeper into some of the brands you mentioned that weren't as familiar to me.
Based on what you described liking, you may want to give Floraiku's First Dream of the Year a try - it is a citrusy fragrance that smells wonderful; when I wear it I feel like I smell like clean white sheets blowing on the line in the summer: fresh, crisp and lovely.

I admit, I tried Pulp and Hypnotizing Fire on your recommendation and they were so far out of my comfort zone that it took me months to wear them. They are next level grown and sexy and are not to be worn in general company. But you got me hooked on Boys (the only perfume I have a backup of), so I will finally pick up Baccarat 540 and the Louboutin discovery set at Neiman Marcus.

My best fragrance discoveries last year were almost all Maison Christian Dior scents (e.g. Ballade Sauvage, First Look) and Sundance from Byredo (a great summer scent that just makes happy)!

It’s weird because I became perfume obsessed during lockdown. I always loved perfumes more than your average person but I went way overboard last year lol and got my friend and husband into it 😂. I know a lot of other people who became fragrance addicts during lockdown 🤔
You look exceptionally beautiful in this video, I can't figure out what's so radically different to the other videos. I mean, you're YOU but...wow. I love people showcasing their fragrance collections. I watch these sorts of videos when painting my nails for work, so I can listen but there's no need for my eyes to be glued to the screen. Great fun.
If you are not a big fan of rose, I encourage you to try Gris Dior by Christian Dior- it’s main note is rose yet the amber and patchouli transform it into such a beautiful scent. And a sexy fragrance in my opinion is Oud Isphahan by Christian Dior, I believe it to be a little more masculine yet so seductive, woody and rich.

One of the things I love most about fragrance, is that it changes with your body chemistry. So my favorite perfume, Akkad by Lubin, changes on me, but always in interesting and good ways. Conversely, the fruity and/or white flower fragrances that smell so good on others, generally stink of cat pee on me, lol.. the mix of scent on skin is one of life’s great pleasures. When we get it right.

My all time favorite scent is the Miss Dior Originale eau de Toilette (not the pink one but the old one which has a golden color) it smells sophisticated and like one of the old times perfumes but in the best kind of way :D it absolutely has to be put on the skin and not on the clothes because it really develops with the warmth of the body :)

I tried the Harmonist Moon glory and something in it broke my skin out, almost like a burn. I do love Coco Noir, Dior fragrances, Coco, Hermes Amber Nargulie. Delina and Bacarat rouge 540 don't work well with my skin chemistry. Thanks for the video Frederick Malle, Lipstick Rose is another favorite
