The 1 million dollar question: any palpable difference towards the M550d B57S engine? Price for used. M550Ds are tempting but the LCI looks better (subjective). If there is no real world significant difference between the two (performance wise) I will get the 540d!
Fact we cant get the 540d Touring in the UK is just downright wrong. Nor can we get a M550i either which stinks but not quite as badly as the BMW customer service...
As cool as it was, 4 turbos are twice as much possible problems with leaks and wear then with a twin turbo engine. Probable why they went with a twin turbo engine. BMW is trying to establish a reliable image for their brand.
