id argue atleast with Michael, they made up for it with Xscape where they had a more cohesive sound and the original tracks as bonus tracks to prove they real tracks
15:30 x and joyner was actually friends and talked alot , x respected him and they even talked about making music together , confirmed by John cunningham (X’s close friend)
Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon has to be one of the best posthumous hip hop albums ever. It has so many streams not only cause of his death but also cause of how good the songs are.
That pop smoke album is still being sold in my local Walmart till this day and their still collecting dust I never picked up a copy but yes the album is terrible
Very few posthumous albums work. The only recent hip/hop posthumous albums I can think of that were solid are Juice Wrld’e Legends Never Die and Mac Miller’s Circles, the Mac project especially. It's one of his best albums, and I think it's because Mac planned it before his death. A considerable amount of work was already done before his passing, so it was a legit album and not a compilation of unfinished demos.
If they are not like Prince, Mike Jackson, or Mac Miller meaning they have a discography worth of music in their then there is no reason why people should be releasing music because usually the work is too unpolished.
Ngl, this is a good video and I really liked what you said throughout it, my only criticism would be to maybe speak a little faster, like I’d say to about 1.25x speed
No for real like what the hell possessed them to do that. Mike has catalogs worth of unreleased music, what made them think doing that was a good idea, much less that people wouldnt figure out. As an mj fan i wouldnt mind another posthumous album done right considering Xscape released in 2014 was pretty good and still holds up but with the advent of ai I wouldnt hold it against them to do something shady like make up entirely new songs sung by an ai MJ.
Imo michaels latest major releases michael, Xscape, and thriller 40 (The new material) have all been solid to me. They did sound manufactured though, but you wait till A.i takes over 😂
Ngl as bad as a sour taste Michael (2010) left in a majoritiy of fan's mouths i still think MJ posthumous albums have the ability to do well if given to the right people. Xscape was pretty good and the remixed songs for Thriller 40 were solid too. MJ has thousands of unreleased songs that could easily just be polished up and sold to the market.
Okay I finished the video but needed it at 2X speed my advice to you is to not drag out your videos. You could have talked about six dogs and his post album and how his family and friends did him justice. This video was so long for three artists that everyone who likes music knows there dead albums were bad. I feel like if you talked in a manner you could have fitted five artists in this video and still had it Ben 20 minutes
I think the issue is some posthumous albums weren't as bad as the ones he highlighted, and it might've proved him wrong that "posthumous albums" aren't killing a legacy of a person who is deceased. It's the fact they are dead that their legacy died as well. Obviously. I'm not saying unfinished work doesn't paint the wrong narrative but I liked some posthumous music from artists I would never hear again. They were not in this video.
@@usagiwerd6664 The only bad thing about Juice's music was people leaking it, the music itself was still good. The label didn't wanna officially release it as well, but they put a decent amount out since 2018. It's hard to make more when the artist isn't alive anymore but Juice had so many songs made before he died, compared to other artists.
I wouldn't be surprised if labels start using AI to make posthumous albums. And mixing it with unfinished songs
They kind of have. Listen to the new dmx songs on his artist pages. Literally AI
I’ve thought the same thing
Well drake fans approve such things so idk it may come to be like that
Labers????
They do
skins grew on me over the years from being at first, a decent posthumous album to a really great one.
Bad vibes forever made it look like a masterpiece lmfao
@@neptunesanime4474 facts, but i always liked it. the album was so short which was the kicker, but that was his concept before passing.
Circles by Mac Miller is a great phostumous album, but it was already finished when mac was alive

michaels posthumously released albums are always great tho, that man had so much incredible music left
Aye i enjoy the vid bro much love eared a sub
Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon has to be one of the best posthumous hip hop albums ever. It has so many streams not only cause of his death but also cause of how good the songs are.
But then they released faith and it sucks like they shoulda left it at shoot for the stars aim for the moon
0:04 DAMN SHERLOCK I HAD NO IDEA POSTHUMOUS ALBUMS ARE RELEASED AFTER AN ARTIST DIES

This was a really entertaining vid and 100% true
I know its a nitpick but not some Posthumous albums are released after death, they all are lol. I agree with your point.

most definitely, he doesn’t know what the fuck he’s talking about😂 i still rmb when they announced that album

The fact that Sony released fake Michael Jackson songs is insane. 100% at least 3 of songs were not him.
Bruh i been saying that for years😭 that’s criminal literally

Always a fire video
14:05 Why u put Juice on blast like that?!
I have Pop Smoke first posthumous album in Vinyl, never even listened to the second one, can't name one song. There was no need for it.
i fell like they shouldnt drop a posthumous albums that switch up the artists style because they got no chance to build of it
If I ever have a posthumous album released I only want features if I knew the person on the project
more video essays 🔥
What mic you use the quality is tough 🔥🔥
Great video
im so glad they stopped making pop smoke posthumous albums because grace was shit
You mean faith?
Faith sucked ass only 2 good songs on their and it’s the one wit Quavo and Takeoff
