Thank you for sharing this information, Nuria! Clear explanation of keyword research. I noticed when you started the search the category was on "'All (departments)''. In another one of your videos you mentioned to click on the category ""Books"" and then select ''paperback''. I noticed that gives different search results, so I'm a little confused what method to use. Can you enlighten me about that. Really appreciate you sharing your knowledge 👍🏾
May be Nuria got convinced by Paul Marles as I did. I used to do 'books' and even 'independently published', but not anymore after Paul's great explanations.

You can still make the same kind of books that I suggested last year for Christmas, the way to get ideas and finding the niches is still the same.
Thank you! Very useful video. You mentioned you have found tools that can figure out the search volume. What are those? Do those all require payment? (I'm assuming yes.)
There is no tool that gives Amazon search volume as Amazon doesn't give out that information. However, there are some tools like Publisher Rocket, Bookbolt or Helium10 to name a few, that use their own algorithm to work out search volume based on Google search volume. They do tend to be paid tools.

Hi Nuria do you use those keywords exactly us it is in your subtitle and 7 boxes or just you take individual word and combine them in a sentence
I will make another video on how I use them too, you can use your best keywords in your title and subtitle and then put other keywords in the 7 keyword slots. I usually use a mix of short tail and long tail keywords
Good explanation but the extensions do not work in incognito windows on my computers.
You have to enable them in the settings.
Does it matter if your keywords isn’t suggested by amz? There weren’t any suggestions for mine but there are still other books with nearly the same title plus there are only 460 results for it?
As for the bsr. Do we check bsr in books or the bsr in the category that they are listed in? There’s a few bsrs that ranked high but in all books were kind of low. What’s your advice?
If it isn't suggested that means not many people are looking for it. Did you see if the other books had any sales? You should check the BSR in main books category.
@@TheHomeBoss would I need to change the title? It’s a dream journal. But it’s a specific kind. People i don’t think will look for that specifically but they’ll still search dream journals which is still in my title. Should I just do my search starting with dream journal?

Hi - I tried this and get 1000 results like you did for "All" search, but get 8000 results when on reduced to a "Books" search only. How does that work? What do you think gives the best idea of the niche competition? Thanks I really find your videos useful.
You want to see the same results that your customers would see, so as most people search in 'all', you should do your research in 'all' too, to get the results they would see.

Great video! I'm having such a hard time with keywords. Is there a search amount that is too low under 1000?
My advice is don't get too hung up on keywords. If you like the idea of a book and you really want to create it, then do it. My best selling book was in a niche that I would never have published in if I had done the keyword research. I just really wanted to make that kind of book and I'm glad I did. Get a few books out there, pick a niche that you know and like and give it a try. Keywords are important but sometimes you just have to try something and see if it works.

I added both chrome extensions and neither one seems to work on my Amazon searches. And the icons don't show anywhere on my toolbar. It's frustrating because I was very excited to try this.
That's strange, they should work. Maybe uninstall them and try again? Also, are you searcing in incognito? Then you would have to enable them to do that.
Make sure you go into the settings for the extensions and make sure you enable the use in incognito switch
My Q is do we have to get all the keyword research tool. If you had to choose and can only budget for 1 which one would you choose. I don't see a video for Helium 10 but you have mentioned book bolt before.
This is a really difficult one to answer because they are all good in different ways and will appeal to different people. I can only say that from a purely personal opinion and because it is the one I use the most, it's probably Publisher Rocket. But they are all good in different ways and I will be reviewing them individually very soon. There is also a good free one, the Selfpublishing Titans chrome extension, I find that very helpful too and it's free. (I love bargains).

Incognito window does not work with the tools. Regular window does work. What am I doing wrong?
You can enable the tools to work in incognito by going to the settings in the chrome extension.
what is the difference between a notebook and a journal?
No real difference in the format, the difference is how you use it. A notebook is for notes and a journal is to journal about different topics. You can also have prompted journals that include prompts or some kind of explanation on how to use it.
