This is a 90s album, perhaps you're staring at some internet rights management whatever. 1996 I think. Imagine what this kind of brutal death metal did to more 'normal' types of death metal at the time.
Well done parsing all this, mate. You got a good sense of what made this band special. They're bouncy, catchy and (even) humorous once you get really used to them, this is why this album has never lost its luster, the songs are amazing. The playful starts and stops, the almost falling-apart-at-speed feeling though the band never falls apart. Kind off jazzy. The demented vocals, the outstandingly written lyrics (!) about really grotesque subject matter. The aesthetics of the cover carrying into the music in a fun way.
Correct in finding the bit of grind influence, in this kind of death metal it makes the difference, the injection of chaos and nonsense of grind. The drummer is Flo Mournier and he's kind of the star of the show. The first Cryptopsy is just as good (Blasphemy made Flesh) but then this band very quickly - sadly - drops off in quality. If you listen to more C for pleasure, try the debut. I think their main attribute is how catchy-heavy they are after 3-4 listens. Not a lot of death metal is just hooks hooks hooks hooks like this.
Always a pleasure to see another human being parse something you love in real time, and have interesting things to say to boot. Love to see you enjoy the bass, love to see you hunt for Lord Worm going 'AAAAAAAH' (he does that rather well, doesn't he?), love to see someone inspired and pumped up by good ol' None So Vile.
Kataklysm you mentioned were very very inspired by Cryptopsy and much like them Kataklysm manage a couple of good records and then fall off but even at there best nowhere near this. This kind of hyperblasting death metal can easily get gimmicky. Perhaps Cryptopsy used up every good riff that goes over all this Suffocation-inspired death metal style on this album, hah
And yeah as a metalhead in my 40s, all through the mid 90s to today, I have never met a lifer who doesn't credit this album if they're into the more extreme types of metal. A widely regarded classic.
You say Mortician and immediately my mind jumps to the infinitely superior Malignancy that's close to them, Either way, when you make your way back to Malignancy you'll think of this comment again.

If you liked Cryptopsy you would definitely liked Brutal Truth - Extreme conditions demand extreme responses.
