What is the use of storage tank here
Water flow under pressure is low so when you open the valve or tap it will flow about fourth or fifth volume of the pump without a tank. Its about 200cc to 400 cc. So you would spend 1 minute to flow a glass.
So when you cutoff the water. Pump will fill the tank until it hits the required pressure. So it loads pressurized water in it. When you open the tap some amount of pressurized filtered water will be ready with a tank

Apart from the above, water comes out when the tap is rotated clock wise instead of anti clockwise. Kindly correct it in your video.

I really like the animation, however it would be great to have some text to explain what each filter is doing, I know it is filtering the water, but what is each filter doing differently. Why is 5 filters better than 1?
By the way i do know all these answers and do know how the Ro systems work, so the video is quite boring. I am sure other people watching this don't and for them some text would put it all in perspective.

yes I believe so
its actually pretty bad as it shows only one type (one which is actually pretty bad - tank aso type) and it also show the ways without detail. You get much better view, by simply looking up for "RO manuals". Some contain detailed schematics. I know 2-1 direct flow, low gpd tank with aso, low gpd tank permeat pump (and with aso), low gpd tank with booster pump, direct flow with aso, direct flow with pump aso and direct flow with pump with solenoid; all with manual and automated electric flushing.

Thanks a lot! But I don't get how RO membrane releases waste water.
From the tap(feed) water,there should be two streams,one being purified water and the other waste water. Water that gets into the system will be cleaned and other will be discarded. I've seen people recycling waste into the purifier but that clogs the filters way before time

you probably activated membrane with water and then left it without use - so bacterial infection built up. Soak the membrane in the H2O2 0.1% solution for a day or two, then insert it back and open the flow restrictor bypass for 15 minutes.

can anyone tell me what is the function of buffer stock and how the stocked water transfer to anywhere?
Buffer stock is under water pressure and water comes from this storage tank when you open the tap to get filtered water. RO system filters water in a slow rate. If this tank is not there you would wait a lot to get required volume of filtered water right away.
