Oh Jeez that was brilliant, a clear straightforward explanation of how to set this up. If I had any hair, it was all torn out trying to figure this out. You made it so simple. Thanks.
Thank you!! I have been trying to figure this out for ages. Every other video tells me to click the Automatic Replies box, which I don't have. Not crazy about leaving my computer on for two weeks while I'm away, but if that's what gets the job done...
the problem is I cant use the rules and alert because it says I need to go connect in Exchange which will never happen because my outlook in in IMAP/POP server
Here are the steps 1. Click on file 2. Click on Automatic Replies 3. Select Send Automatic replies at the top left 4. Click on the tab Outside my Organization 5. Select check box Auto reply to people outside my organization 6. In the box type in the message for people outside of your organization
@@FindEasySolution thank you for replying, but it switches on autoreply for both internal and external senders. It doesn't allow to choose external only :(
Unfortunately NO. The simple fact is, there should be something running when the email arrives to send the automatic reply. Either you have an Microsoft exchange server like all the companies have to send the auto replies or have your computer active as explained in the video.
Mate I forgot in the step "specify name for this rule" to rename it and I leave the c: drive location instead of rename it and still get autoresponse even after deleting rules. Could you help me?

Hi, thanks for making this video, so helpful! I wanted to ask when you say the computer needs to be on, can it be in sleep mode instead?
I didn't test it but I guess it may not work because the outlook app may not be active when the computer is in sleep mode.

Is there a way to do it without being the computer on all the time? (There’s no sense :))

I wonder if there is a way to ask for it to be supported.
Not sure if Microsoft has any forum where we can post suggestions.
Thank you so much.

Would you please also share how to turn off the auto reply afterward ? Thanks a lot !
You just need to turn off the rule whenever you don't want the auto replies to be sent. It's there in the video at the end.
@@FindEasySolution Thanks so much !!

How can I turn off the rule please? in step
In the video it shows how to go to email rules, once you go there clear the check box for the out of office rule. That's the only way to turn off.
