    If you keep going back there must be a reason and if the fishing if good, why not, especially with those views and great weather too. I hope there was no bears watching you eat their Autumn food and good to see the fish starting to bite too. Once they started they did lot want to stop lol! cheers Alan

      Thanks Alan. This area does have a lot of trails and lakes to explore. The fishing was great this trip too. I have yet to see any bears in all my years of coming to this mountain range. They are there but they stay hidden and away from people. This is a great off trail place to avoid people too if you wanted a remote camp. Lots of fun. Thanks for watching. Have a great day.

    Crystal Lake Trailhead was good to you this time! You found yourself a honey hole - catching on every cast sounds awesome! Pretty fish, great colors, and a pretty lake too! Fun to see Duck Lake again and a few of this other lakes that we explored last year. Really nice that you had the area to yourself, and a nice cozy camp spot. As it was getting dark I could see the reflection of the moon in the lake - I’d love to sit out by the campfire and watch the moon and stars… 👌👍👍 So what did you end up eating for dinner? I hope it was a meal you like, maybe you’ll have a fresh fish to eat tomorrow! 😄🎣🐟🐟🐟 Awesome catching! Have a great day, Jen and Steve

      Thanks Jennifer. This is the lake I need to bring you, Steve, and Kristy too. So many fish. Lets turn that fishing into catching! This lake was on fire! It was a nice area to get away from the crowds too. The moon reflection was pretty neat but I had a hard to capturing it in a picture but it still showed up in the video. Good eye! I ended up skipping my lasagna dinner this night and went to bed kind of hungry. LOL. Teaser, breakfast did not go as planned either! Have a great day.

    It's fun exploring off-trail. Too bad about the soaker - I did that on my last trip as well but just happened to be wearing water shoes at the time, which is probably why I took the risk as well, lol. The grouse berries sound tasty - I love trying wild berries but only when I'm sure of what I'm eating. Great spot to fish and camp. Have a great day, Steve!

      Thanks Donna. The rain was was going to come. Tried to explore as much as possible until it did. I'm glad I did not stumble into the lake. That would have sucked! LOL. I'm the same with wild foods of any kind. Know what you are ingesting and make sure it is edible. The fishing and camp spot were awesome. Thanks for watching. Have a wonderful day.

    Wow there’s actually quite a bit of trails there. Have you done them all? Hahah yeah kind of realized you were going solo. Oh man. Hate when my shoes get wet. Did that while running trails in Colorado. Was trying to get a good shot and had to cross a stream and stepped right in lol. Luckily I was wearing crocs. So no wet socks and dried quick. Mountain lakes are so pretty. We saw some red berries up on a Colorado mountain and wasn’t sure what they were. We didn’t eat them in case they were poisonous. Nice catch right away. Butt tree 😂 Good tip to let someone know where you are. We always let one of our kids know our basic itinerary before we head out even down to the camp spot we plan to be at. Another good catch. You picked a great time to do some fishing. Always like a nice active fishing trip. Nice campfire and lovely camp spot.

    • @Packsalot
      @Packsalot  Месяц назад +1

      Thanks. I have a goal to hike all the trails in the wilderness area there but that is going to be a retirement effort in a couple years. This specific area does have several trails through it which I have been on nearly all of them one time or another. It was just me and the camera this time! LOL. Stepping in that hole would have been a good blooper had someone been recording me. Stupid bog area dirtied my shoe! Glad I did not fall in. LOL. Gotta a love a good imagination and a butt tree. The Garmin satellite communicator goes with me everywhere. This turned out to be a great catching trip instead of one of those fishing trips. It was a lot of fun in this area. I'm sure I'll be back here again. Especially with the grandson. Can't wait. Have a great day.

      Thanks. Yes, good ear! There was someone on the far side of Weir Lake target shooting. The lakes up here sure do put on a great reflection. Glad the fishing was awesome too. I recognize that lake! It used to be one that we would visit when the crowds were really thick in that area. One year we went there, and there were no fish rising in there, and a lot of them were dead on the surface. Good to see it has become a good fishery again! There is a campsite in there that has stone furniture in it that we used to stay at. I was over the pass catching fish during that moon as well! That storm that came in the next day was no joke. Beat it to the exit vehicle by one hour! Look forward to see how you did with that on your exit! Fish on!

    • @davidbentley8092

      Thanks Christian. The area is still good or at least good again. I'd come back here for sure. I stayed at the camp spot you mention. It is a nice area and away from the crowds too. The storm was a mean one but after the lightning passed it went from scary to just wet! Glad you missed it and got off early. I got stuck because you know me, just one more cast........LOL. Have a great day.

    That is one of my favorite lakes in all of the uintas. I have been there at least 20 times and had the lake to myself all but once. You sure picked the hard way to get there though. You don't need to do all of that bushwhacking.

    • @Packsalot
      @Packsalot  Месяц назад

      The furthest lake in part 2 was a great lake with lots of potential. I did find what I believed to be the trail/route to get there while on the way out. I also saw some orange markings on the trees leading to the lake. It was decent all the way out. I did not want to give the location away too easily. It was definitely bushwhacking from the first lake to the last, but decent route/trail from the furthest one all the way back out to Duck. Great spot. I see why it is a favorite. I need to go back there and explore and fish some more. It seems there are a few more even farther to the South I need to check out too. Lots of fun. Thanks for watching. Have a great day.

    Couldn't ask for much nicer spot, both scenery and fishing. I see this year your using jigs more instead of Jake's, are they working better for you?

    • @Packsalot
      @Packsalot  Месяц назад +2

      Thank you! Yes, it depends on the lake. If the lake is primarily tiger trout, I found that the jigs have been working much better than the Jake. For brookies, most of the time they will go for the Jake but the stubborn ones want the jig. This year I have been using both and have had much better success than previously years. Having the option between both the jig and the jake is the way to go. Thanks for watching. Good luck on your fishing. Have a great day.

      @@alanmacnaughtan6505 I actually have not researched them or fished them. I have asked a couple others. I'll let you know what I find out.
