I've actually already made two, check out the channel to watch them. I use firewall port forwarding, but I have friends that use nabu casa. Both ways work fine.

Backups have two weak links. First, you must remember to perform them, luckily there are several HACS integrations to automate backups. Second, backups are worthless if you can't restore them. Restoring from backup on HA is a scary process, sometimes running for 10's of hours without any indication of progress. I'd really like to see this issue addressed by the developers.

What was the recent Unifi issue ?

Something to do with a new version of firmware with unifi protect. I didn't actually run into it since it was very short lived and was fixed within a week or something like that. If you had the affected integration, you would have gotten a message under repairs.
