just to clarify, the actual tax rate is not 66 percent. The capital gains rate is that much. So, before it was fifty percent cap gains, and the other fifty percent was tax free. Now, only 33.34 percent is tax free, and 66.67 percent is taxed at the regular rate.

Just figured I’d share this thought. If Trudeau is so determined that the people get more back than they spend or put into the carbon rebate, where is this excess coming from? Does it come from the other 2 of 10 people? I highly doubt the government would run a deficit just to try and have “good” faith and if they have been, they need the boot. Just my two cents.

Here is some food for thought about how expensive food is today.
In 1970 it cost my Mom only $20 to buy a week's worth of groceries for a family of five, and we did not go without anything. We ate extremely well and healthy. Far more than families today .
Same here, but in the 90s. Family of 5 and my mom spent 150 a month and we had homecooked meals everyday.
15 years ago I used to spend about 150 every 6 weeks for myself - eating a lot of michelina's but nonetheless.
I know a guy currently with family of 6 - 4 growing teenage boys and he said he's spending 150 a day (4500/month) on food for his family.
From the 70s to 90s to 2010s very minimal increase. But since this buffoon regime took over things are beyond affordable anymore.

We spend a minimum of $1500 a year on carbon tax just for gas in our vehicles. I have no idea how to calculate the carbon tax on everything else that we purchase. So far this year we have gotten $200 in rebates. Nothing in April that Trudeau promised.
