This was such a helpful video. Thank you! I can't exactly put my finger on why, but I preferred the Valentino side. I was glad to see the Valentino Foundation perform so well because I don't think there's a shade match for me in the Pat McGrath Foundation.
The Valentino looks like makeup while Pat McGrath looks like beautiful skin. At this point in my life I’m looking for a beautiful skin look. This was a great video! ❤
You can see in the video that when you apply the Valentino & Pat McGrath foundation that Valentino had way more pigment with one pump they both blend like a dream but I absolutely love Mother Pat foundation it just feels & where’s so natural
The Guerlain is more blurring which is why it’s my fav foundation right now. It’s actually the most favorite foundation I’ve tried since dior discontinued the original dior forever formula in 2018. This foundation is very similar to that one. Haven’t found anything close to it until now
I bought the Guerlain foundation and I absolutely loved it!! And then I dropped it.... I only had it for a few weeks and it was completely shattered, leaving my bathroom floor covered with this expensive gorgeous foundation..! I have to admit, I cried a little.
I think the final choice between the PM and the Valentino can only be judged on cost - I mean, they looked identical!!!! This was fun and interesting, thank you Patty 😊 Love ya loads 💜🌟💜🌟💜
The Valentino is at .85 ml while the Pat Magrath is at 1.18ml. So it seems which ever one (out of the two brands) one should go with is which ever one has your preferred color. I can’t wait for the concealer round!!
I have oily skin and the Valentino has become my favorite foundation. I’ve noticed dry or oily it seems to melt into everyones skin and give a beautiful finish. It last on me all day. Love it
This is my favorite video that you have ever made. I have skin very similar to yours and am about to purchase a new foundation. This was so helpful and the two foundation finalists were stunning. ❤
Valentino is blurring but you can tell immediately you have foundation on whereas the PMG looks seamless like better even out skin. PmG hands down for me.
So glad that Pat was still tops for you! I can't use the others due to their perfumey scents. I picked up the Pat solely because of you. Thank you for taking the time to do this, I never see anyone doing side-by-side comparisons! That's what I do myself at home. Love it 🌸
Patty, I’d love to see you try the Givenchy prisme Libre glow foundation. I tried getting the Valentino during the sephora sale twice but I received expired foundations twice! I’ll have to try it on the next sale lol
I'm on my 3rd bottle of Pat Mcgrath too. Its my favorite out of all my foundations. I haven't tried the Valentino foundation but I have the concealer which doesn't give much coverage but the formula is nice. I've been thinking about getting the Valentino foundation it looks really good on you. I think Pat looks the best on you, something about the tone of it.
Based on my PARCHED skin's preferences, I'm voting the VV foundation. Our complexions DO differ N tone though & honesty, that helped me decide @ this point of the video - 21:48.
👑 📖 i was giving it to pat but Valentino was Like I'm here to i Like dior over pat powder foundation i Like Makeup Forever stick foundation huda over Hourglass ❤🕊
This was super helpful. I think you should make this a series. I have three of these four foundations and I think I’m gonna do the same thing with my makeup. 😊
I just got the Valentino and it is my ABSOLUTE favorite I have used so far! I have dry mature skin (but I use very good skincare and prep well) but the Valentino is so light weight yet such good coverage and so blurring! Also we are shade twins usually and surprisingly MA1 was better than the one you have on it is the perfect neutral w a hint of peachy yet more cool toned than I thought it would be
Helpful video! I have desert dry skin, but am 65. I prefer a matte or satin matte fuller coverage foundation. My current favorites are the KVD Good Apple Serum, Nars matte foundation, and Charlotte Tilbury’s Airbrush Flawless one. I also like both the I Am Magic foundations from Juvia’s place. I might want to try the Very Valentino one. Loved the video!
This is an Excellent video! Very Good to see these foundations side by side. Pat McGrath looks most Beautiful IMO. Valentino is very pretty as well. ❤😅😅
I wanted to remind you the Chanel No. 1 foundation just came out last year. When you say you’ve been loving it for sooo long I was like wait a minute… it just came to the market. Lol great video though. I love a good side by side showdown kind of video
I haven’t tried the Valentino or the guerlain but the PML and the new MUFE hd skin finish foundation is one of my favorites along with Dior air flash 😊loved the video Patty 💕
The PML foundation did indeed look flawless and more skin like. when you applied it next to the Valentino. I knew right Pat was my favorite. I’m going to try this test with my favorites. This was very helpful.
What a helpful video!! Pat McGrath has been my all time fav for the past two years. Always go back to it! So skin like and beautiful. I do have the new guerlain and love it too but feel it’s a little more “makeupy” compared to PML too!
I just love videos like this! You are the first to use same skincare products and same exact brush/tool! I love the two the same! Looking gorgeous 🥰🫶🏼 Stay blessed! Definitely gonna try these two! ♥️
Thank you Patti!! This video is amazing!! You’re an Angel & I can’t thank you enough for your epic videos! On my way to grab the PMG… Love&light from California ❤❤
Great video Patty! For some reason I like the very Valentino better on you. Close up I can’t tell a difference, but from farther away it appears smoother and more blurring maybe. You make both look beautiful though! ☺️
I just *had* to buy the PM in a darker shade to have as a mixing shade, for summer and also for a few that were already too light, it's been a great formula for mixing in my experience. A top fave.
Was scouting around for a new luminous foundation for mature skin. I found the Guerlain Terracota Le Teint Foundation looked so pretty right out of the bottle and would for mature dry if I never moved or talked. I felt so dried up by it yet always apply foundation pretty darn sparingly so it's a shame for mature/dry IMO. I'm so curious about the McGrath, but ????? I guess I need a sample!
I have very dry skin and love the Valentino but had to return the Guerlain because it looked too drying on my skin after a while around my upper cheeks. I have yet to try the Pat McGrath, but also know it has alcohol in the ingredients, like the Guerlain does, which isn’t great for me. Personally I’m an Armani Luminous silk lover and again I really enjoy the Valentino as well.
Agree, nothing beats Luminous silk 🤫 It glides over my not-so-fine lines and dry patches like nothing else. Pat is not as good on my chin but it has better coverage and no scent. I had to return the Chanel and returned the Guerlain as well.
Based on my PARCHED skin's preferences, I'm voting the VV foundation. Our complexions DO differ N tone though & honestly, that helped me decide @ this point of the video - 21:48.
I have none of the last 2 foundations which I think look stunning on you I now would like to try Valentino first I think colour wise we are the same , love what you did thank you . ❤
I love the PML foundation as well but I don't know if it's the shade but the Valentino looks a little better. I also have a first floor powder room mirror that shows everything...lol
I think PM is “safer” bet. I have heard ALOT of people say/post that the Valentino was expired when they got it. I think PM will last longer without expiring.
I feel like the guerlain inside, held your makeup on better fatter than the Pat McGrath Labs I’d blush looks fine more pigmented on the side that you used guerlain
My no. 1 has always been NARS for foundations, with the light reflecting one being my most favourite. I've not tried any of these, but if I were to pick one i would pick the Pat one as it is fragrance free and essential oil free, as these irritate my skin
I feel like the Valentino looked the best once the lights went down. But with the lights they both looked the same. But for me I think Valentino wins ❤❤
I like the VV better on you. For me, PMG never worked. The foundation sat on top of my skin the whole time and I was never able to sink it in. I tried a brush, a beauty sponge, and my fingers and nothing worked. Plus Pat doesn’t have a good shade for me so Nars, Chantecaille, and Lisa Eldridge have been the best foundations for me
I've tried all of these apart from the Chanel. I found the Valentino gave me many extra lines and sank into every single crease, and on me, was nothing like the others. Hated it. It also looked cracked after 30 minutes or so. The Pat MCgrath has a lovely finish, but has very sheer coverage that doesn't last, and sadly my shade has too yellow an undertone. I loved the Guerlain, but it oxidised something awful on me. I am the lightest shade and using white pigment didn't help. I was gutted. I am 47 with normal skin
What moisturizer are you using underneath & how long do you let it sink in? This happens to me when I don’t let my skincare set in.. I have a terrible habit of wanting to get it done quickly.. lol😂
This was sooo helpful! Can anyone respond to my concern that alcohol is very high up in the ingredient deck of your 2 favs (like the 2nd or 3rd ingredient). I'm over 60 and have not just dry skin but desert skin. Alcohol is known to dry skin out. It didn't sound like it was a problem for you, Patti.
It’s never been a problem for me with Pat McGrath and I’ve had 3 bottles so it’s been with me through every season of the year in during winter when my skin is also a desert it works well. Valentino I’ve only had a couple of months but so far so good!
@@PattyAlonso Thanks, Patti. Next PMG sale, I'm on it! I'll let you know how it works on older skin. Thanks for consistently putting out great content!
Well she will always wear blush and /or bronzer on top of her foundation and those can affect the way the foundation looks beneath it. Maybe one foundation may or may not hide her pores even with bronzer for example. What if one foundation breaks apart sooner during the day with blush /bronzer over it. It's definitely better to do the whole make up routine to see how the foundation looks.
Why? Patty always wears her bronzer and blusher. Expecting her to go without any other products ALL DAY for a wear test is a bit harsh. I'm sure Patty knows what she's looking for during these vids.
I'm waiting for my pat McGrath to arrive , ordered today! I had to return the original shade I chose as it was too orange and too dark. I hope the shade I chose works because now seeing this I really want want this foundation. I'm also tempted to run and buy the Valentino one as well. I'm sorta a foundation whore 🫣🤭😎 But to your question about which one I thought looked best, honestly...Pat McGrath 💯
Patty please do more foundation comparison vids like this, it's so helpful seeing similar foundations side to side. You look lovely in all of them!
I say the very Valentino looks better. I feel it looks a lot smoother
The most honest mirror is always the rear vision mirror in the car 😂😂the mirror of truth!
I like the Very Valentino side more, your skin looks more flawless.
This was such a helpful video. Thank you! I can't exactly put my finger on why, but I preferred the Valentino side. I was glad to see the Valentino Foundation perform so well because I don't think there's a shade match for me in the Pat McGrath Foundation.
and the PM is always sold out in 7,8,9
The Valentino looks like makeup while Pat McGrath looks like beautiful skin.
I’m sticking with my pat, McGrath. I love her concealer and her foundation. I keep buying everybody else’s. Keep coming back to her
Upon first application thus far, I think the very Valentino foundation looks slightly better than the pat McGrath on camera.
The Guerlain is more blurring which is why it’s my fav foundation right now. It’s actually the most favorite foundation I’ve tried since dior discontinued the original dior forever formula in 2018. This foundation is very similar to that one. Haven’t found anything close to it until now

All look good on you, Patty! I liked the PMG better, but the color of the VV (I know it was not to be tested, but...) Great video idea!
Yes! I have been curious about the guerlain and Valentino compared to the Pat McGrath! Pat McGrath is my number 1 foundation too!
This was a great video. Thank you Patty 😊
Great video!!!! 👍 I have to say the very Valentino. It looks a bit more coherent and smooth on you ❤❤❤
Very Valentino is my absolute favorite ❤
I'm with you completely. I love them both as well.
I feel that Valentino looks better on camera...it makes your skin look filtered 😍

This was great!!!! My favorite on myself is Chanel. But I haven’t tried the other three. I am trying the Valentino and Pat McGrath next for sure!
I love the PML foundation as well but I don't know if it's the shade but the Valentino looks a little better. I also have a first floor powder room mirror that shows everything...lol
I agree with the Guerlain foundation
I may be biased because I love PMG foundation it’s my holy grail but I definitely want to try the Valentino now.
I think PM is “safer” bet. I have heard ALOT of people say/post that the Valentino was expired when they got it. I think PM will last longer without expiring.
At the end of the video I think the pat McGrath side kept the other makeup on top more vibrant if that makes sense.
I feel like the guerlain inside, held your makeup on better fatter than the Pat McGrath Labs I’d blush looks fine more pigmented on the side that you used guerlain
This was so helpful! Thank you.
i love your review very true and accurate
The PML foundation is a dream
My no. 1 has always been NARS for foundations, with the light reflecting one being my most favourite. I've not tried any of these, but if I were to pick one i would pick the Pat one as it is fragrance free and essential oil free, as these irritate my skin

The PM looks more natural! Both looks good though!!

Awesome review! ❤️👌💯 The Valentino looked better. 😘❤️🇨🇦
Pat McGrath looks good in studio lights on u . I think
@pattyalonso What are your thoughts on the Pat McGrath concealer? I've been interested in it since it is full coverage. Thanks for the video!
Very useful video ❤
Ok nevermind 😂 i love the valentino looks best ❤
Sam Schuerman has oily skin and she loves the Valentino, it’s her HG. So maybe it works for both dry and oily.
Hi Patty, I am wondering that these foundations don't dry out your skin bc they all have alcohol high in the ingredients list.
Excellent!!!❤
Patty, what is your favorite summer time foundation or skin tint ?
I've tried all of these apart from the Chanel. I found the Valentino gave me many extra lines and sank into every single crease, and on me, was nothing like the others. Hated it. @Sheri Morgan I've tried various ones. I leave it about 30 minutes. Before applying foundation or primer. I've also tried with nothing under

I tried the Valentino in Harrods in London, the alcohol smell was so strong, I did not buy it.
@@ChrissieSM Thanks!
In the video, I prefer the valentino. It seems a little bit more blurring to me.
I think the Valentino had more coverage!👍🏻
I think, if you were comparing your favorite foundations to one another, you should not wear bronzer or blush (my opinion only).
Well she will always wear blush and /or bronzer on top of her foundation and those can affect the way the foundation looks beneath it.

I just wish I could tolerate fragrance better! It really limits which luxury foundations I can use. 😢
That is why the Pat wins for me, out of these four.
