oh wow... he's got everyone very, very hot in the mics and with the big choral number you peak the system way out and it just sounds like loud white noise..... i don't think your sound guy knows what he's doing...

I don't suppose it's possible that the room sounds fine, and that the crummy mic on the camera had no limiter? I think you make a supposition that doesn't hold up.
