Part 3 concludes our adventure of prospecting and dredging placer gold. Stick around until the end for my review of the Dream Mat, Dredge Mat and a sneak peak of our next trip. We're on a small creek up in the mountains in the Pacific Northwest looking for gold nuggets and pickers. This creek has no seasonal run of salmon, steelhead or trout and mostly dries up in the summer. Part 1 covers the first half of our trip. Day one we prospect for gold using metal detectors (equinox 800), crevicing and panning. Day 2 we dredge with my modified 4" dredge and find some amazing gold! We also start a test on the dredge Dream Mat. Part 2 we continue our search for the elusive shiny yellow rocks. Part 3 we locate a puddle of pickers and chunky gold! We end this conclusion with my thoughts on the dream mat. Follow along for the adventure and enjoy the show.

Very nice dredge outting, great job 👍 , I use dream mat for a clean up mat . But the best dredge mat in my opinion. Is gold hog. Riverhog mat talon mat motherlode in that order. Thanks for sharing 👍 PPO out 😎
I went back to my gold hog and riffle system. It'll be in my next dredge video. I'm hoping to get this mat out again before winter. Different stream.

Was a good video thanks for helping people see what it is to be a prospector I’m not dissing your channel when I said that’s a lot of gear I’m in British Columbia and we have to get special permits for water rights which is complicated for me so I pan a claim really well dig until bedrock last time I was out I found an old channel in the river going 130 degrees there was about a gram of gold some pickers microns and fatter course gold and a lead shotgun pellet that appeared as usual inside it was invaded by mercury about 140 pieces of lead that I’m not sure if it’s got gold in with them thanks for your videos hope you guys really have a lot of fun doing it your way which I’m really interested in learning more about angles of the box in relation to water pressure cheers and thankyou

I like the dream mat combo mat that I have but it’s hard to set up right. May save it for when I get a power sluice.
I think I’m going to build a popandson sluice next. I’m ok with catching all the heavies, I have a good cleanup sluice.
I have exclusively small flat gold on my claim
Flat thin gold is why I bought the mat. I don't like pushing that type of gold up over riffles. It likes to sail out.

Good video series! And thanks for the DM review. I need to do a bunch of testing with some in my dredge at some point. But since VA is all sharp jagged bedrock it will be interesting to see how it does.

I didnt realize you talked about loss's.
You need the GEO SLUICE. Its a drop sluice. Not mats.
It has 1.6% loss rate. Even capturing fine 50mesh 150 mesh.
I originally thought it was trash because of its size and material make up.
I would put the geo sluice at the bottom of your set up
It will catch 100% of your loss's esp if you let it run.
The geo was great in jts testing. It didnt let material feed breaks bother its catpure rate
I'll give that a try some time if I get one. I've borrowed a couple and they are impressive. Thank you for the advice.

I my self never use this mat but I just don’t like it I have a 3 stage 4” Keene dredge and ai love it
The dream mat or the gold well? I don't like the dream mat in those conditions. The angular bedrock fragments jam up the cells. I haven't used it in normal gravel. The gold well had a similar issue. I like half gold hog and half hungarian riffle with moss/carpet.
I wanna let you know you need to be capuring your tailings.
Theres a youtuber that tested every sluice set up
When sitting with no material' just water' going threw sluice.
He would loose 30%-50% of gold.
It washes away even with the best mats.
I'm going to pay more attention to that. I just haven't seen the losses that you are describing. I test pan my tailings as a precaution.
