    Remember to slide that orange "keeper" back in the plug slot immediately after removing the old sensor or you will forget it and begin reattaching the intake and look down and say an obscenity when you see it lying there and your new sensor is in the hole and tightened in. I found it impossible to stick the keeper in the plug slot with the new sensor installed. I took the new sensor back out, removed the new sensor from the plug, easily snapped the keeper in and snapped the new sensor back in the plug. My old sensor was in the plug since 1999 and would not hand pull out. I tapped it a few times with the 13 mm wrench to break it free. You may need some needle nose pliers to get out the orange keeper. This job only required a medium size 10mm wrench, 13mm wrench, 10mm long socket and ratchet and something to pry up the upper intake manifold. Very good video.

    Major thanks, Cody the Car guy...my wife and I just change the sensor 2 hours ago. If I could add a few tips because its not clear in the video. There is one 13mm brackets on each side and they have to completely remove bc at the 2:24 mark he says loosen and then removed and there is a tube on the left side if you pause it at the 2:24 mark you need to pull it out the side that is closest to the engine or you will not have space to use your tool to loosen it. We do not see him take off those brackets in the video. Also the bracket in the front of the engine the lower bolt is 13mm and that needs to be completely removed to lift it slightly.The bolt on top of the engine needs to be completely loose not halfway. Just wanted to share things we learned why doing the job.

      It's somewhere in the transmission area, mine was replaced a few years ago and that's where it was. Also the tps can be loosely screwed in to correct position. Tightened tps the car wouldn't run, back it out started and ran fine for years.

    • @johnp7408
      @johnp7408 6 лет назад

      You dont have to mess with nothing on the.back. you gotta be missing something on the front or sides. Or put more pressure when prying it up. Might just need that little extra force. This things dont like to come apart after so many years of being together you know

      +John P hey john will this work on a 2005 Chrysler pacifica....car cut off while driving checked everything under the hood as far as alt and battery go but still no start I was told it could be fuel pump, water pump, but I have a check engine light that's blinking now...any suggestions

    • @johnp7408
      @johnp7408 6 лет назад

      @@jakiaunderwood1889 it could be a lot of things. And the check engine light could literally be on for over 300 reasons. But I know that if it blinks it means it's something more serious. Best thing to do is to go to your local auto parts store or Wal-Mart where they can read/scan your check engine light for free and go from there. That way at least you're not guessing and will have a code number and a short description to Why the light is on and later look it up on google and learn more about it. Hope this helps.

      I'm replacing mine because the engine started shutting off randomly, either while parked at a light or while driving. The car would also chug sometimes as if you were tapping on the brakes while driving. The accelleration was sluggish too.

    The car ran prior to me changing the senor, it took a while to turn over, i would have to turn the key and hold it for a few seconds then it would start.
    I checked code which was a po344 so I changed cam sensor with aftermarket sensor. I started the car and let it run for a few seconds and then I cut it off, I did this twice.
    I then torqued the upper intake bolts to spec and put the air box back on then I tried to start the car but would not start. it cranks but will not turn over. I put the old sensor back in (which was missing the paper gasket) but it still will not start with the old sensor either.
    Not sure whats wrong but I'm trying to get a mopar sensor now

    • @johnp7408
      @johnp7408 6 лет назад

      Same here. Same problem. Same scenario. I left the aftermarket part in. I thought that maybe it was wiring or god knows what else. But now I come to learn that OEM part is really necessary. So I'm looking into replacing it again here soon with OEM camshaft sensor

    • @teamodave

      Ericwonderlin42 , if you don't have a scanner to clear the codes, disconnect the negative battery terminal for at least 30 minutes, then reconnect. Th
      is should clear them.

  • @teamodave
    @teamodave 9 лет назад +2

    I would suggest using the Mopar part (#4609086AE) and not BW or any aftermarket parts for electrical sensors. Unless you like doing the job again in a couple months, lol.

When I want to put my foot on the pedal and want to give more gas, it hesitates , glitches , breaks up , shakes.. when I remove my foot from the gas, the engine is back at its normal level. It is the same thing that happens if I want to get started quickly...it hesitate, glitches.etc etc etc..Do you know what problem of my car...

    To clear a code I would just reboot The hole mother board by taking the neg off and while the neg is off I would turn the key in the ignition as if I was trying to start the car and hold the brake pedal for 10 seconds - then take my foot off the pedal and take out the key 🔑 and quickly put the neg back on and then put the key in the running poison and let the cars Computer boot up for 20 seconds just like an iPhone has to boot up. Sounds ridiculous but been doing it for years and then my car runs smooth. And my customers are very happy. Deno
