Thanks for doing this video! just drove an hour to my local shop in PA and they had sold out of the sb dunk fcfs drop this morning and I got some Telefords instead and im super happy! I've been sleeping on these. @4:15 this resonates super hard!
Not sure how old you are, but my experience is a bit different. Where I grew up, Nike SB kept the shop open. Plain and simple. Everyone wanted Lakai during the Fully Flared era. We had a strong sense of the importance of skating and supporting the brands who cared about skateboarders. It wasn’t so strange for me to skate an SB Dunk or Blazer right after some Emerica or éS.
@@ianturnbow7011 I didn’t know anything about any other companies until maybe 2 years after skating lol. I skated JCPenny skate shoes for most of my beginning years cuz that’s what I could afford, then DC, then Nike SB. The dunk caught my eye because I had a friend who was a Dunk head and put me on - 7th grade was when I got my first Dunk
I bought some Telford lows the other day they should come tmr but so far your the only one that I found that reviewed these aye I'm glad thanks for the info on these it's much appreciated
Lovee the video! I actually got 2 pairs of Lakai's just this afternoon(Pacifico high, black/gold low). Ive been wearing/skating SB dunks since 2005 and they have always been my favorite shoes, basically worn exclusively since I started wearing them. However recently Ive been beginning to feel that they are crazy played out and have been on the hunt for an alternative. Looks like I found them! Would love to see more videos from you on the Telford's.
@David Bluetile man thats sad , es and lakai are shoes I hugely support, I spend so much on es because I love them but they do discount their shoes too , I usually buy two pairs if they sell at this price
yeah. its def a battle. sole tech too.... they have to discount so often that its not worth it to carry them in the shop. I try and try but they do not move at a regular price. even the Tom Penny that just dropped is lagging in the shop. which is such a surprise to me.
Nice shoes! (: They are so similar to the dunks and i am suprised that there is a Rob Welsh (OG DGK) colourway in 2022. (; Lakai was the shit back in the days. I had them in purple-yellow-white and it was a really good and stylish skateshoe.
@@DavidBluetile I bought a pair of Cambridge lakais that I got for like 60 bucks haven’t tried the Telford lows yet but if you got a discount code for me I’ll buy them right now haha
They did a high version of this color way years ago. I don’t think I had em but I had some crazy denim ones with like… foreign money printed on them or something T haha
The sole of the shoe needs work. I can squeeze and fold the heal of the shoe in half straight out of the box. If they were better constructed I would still be wearing lakais I had that shoe back in high school
@@DavidBluetile Oh yeah for sure, the XLK sole they are using For the Telford now it’s just way too thin For me personally. I had the Newport Telford hi back in grade school and the sole was a bit more sturdy. I also skated the Manchester and the sky high religiously before the Howard select came out. Or maybe I need some fancy insoles or something.
I skated a bunch of Telfords in the past months, love them but yeah outsole is very flexi. The XLK cupsole used for Fade and Trudger is less flexible which means a little less feel right away but more durability. Honestly prefer the Telford because of look and that extra board feel. Usually they last me some 2 and half months, it’s fine for me since I have a good job and salary but O guess kids will always go for thicker shoes.
You’d like to see me try them on? Like “on foot” video? I don’t do it often because technically this isn’t my shoe… I’m selling it in my shop. But… I dunno… maybe I can do that
True but they’re not 100% skater owned these days. They sold to a financing company called the altamont group. And this shoe was originally modeled off of a dunk or Jordan 1 strait out the gate. A lot of shoes took inspiration from those shoes because that’s what we skated before their were skate brands. There is a lot of history in all that worth appreciating. I love lakai but Nike sb does a lot better job of bringing customers into local shops. I wish lakai was better at that
@@DavidBluetile nike doesnt supply dunks for skaters, they make them for collectors limited etc. ES shoes example really care more about skaters opinions
@@kolphuir9971 This may be true but when your business model is selling shoes off price the value of your product goes down. skaters typically aren't buying these in skate shops. theyre buying them marked down online some where.... a shop cant afford to be a middle man for a footwear brand and if your brand doesn't compete at full price then the brand isn't going to be successful. As a skater I love the idea of skater owned footwear but as a business I cant afford to sell shoes for 50% off all the time. I struggle and struggle to keep these brands on the shelves and honestly the success of larger brands are the only reason ive been able to take a risk on skater owned footwear. I talk to someone (at truly the last remaining skater owned footwear brand) quite often and he jokes that skate shops buying skate brands is like doing charity work. bottom line is that if skaters aren't willing to pay full price for skater owned brands theyre going to go away. I just got the new Penny 2 in by eS so we will see how that goes but the entire inventory from last season from eS and Emerica is currently in the discount section of bluetilesc.com its kind of a bummer but if skate brands are going to survive skaters are going to have to step up to the plate and pay full price for the brands they (half heartedly) support.
Thanks for doing this video!

I’m so glad I rewatched that. Thanks for watching and taking me down that little journey on my own video.
Definitely gotta try some Lakai's, all the homies used to wear 'em back in the day, i was too much of a blazer / dunk head.
its good to mix it up now and then but dunks and blazers are reliable for sure. if you can get your hands on them.

Hey thanks for checkin it out. Lemme know what you think
love lakai; love the telfords. Greatest comeback!!!!
Definetly love cup souls. Love the style and more support.
man this video has been getting some action lately. I wonder what popped it bank into the algorithm
@@DavidBluetile I just ordered a pair of these, was looking up reviews on them 😂😂
Love the Newport look missed out on these when I was in high school back in 2009
the low might be sicker.

oh word? let me know how that transition goes! I think you'll miss some of the dunk support but the telford skates well.
All the best, We Love Bluetile. I watch all your videos no matter what. Keep them coming.
thanks Jason!

LAKAI!!! Let’s Get Some More Colorways For The Cambridge Mid & Telford Mid Please.!.
parade world has these for 39 $ in my size , and the drop has the white and blue ones i like too for 49$ torn between which ones to get might get both
Unfortunately that’s why we don’t carry very man lakai. It’s a battle to try to sell things at full price just to eventually mark them down

I had a few of the high tops back in the day as well. not sure I ever had a Telford Low.
I’m skating some lakais right now. Love the flick right away
sick! where did you scoop em? did you pay full price or were they discounted? I have a million questions! haha

I try to watch All the videos for support even if it’s not a shoe I’m hyped on. But both the Telford colorways are dope.
thank you so much for the views!
is it true to size? if anyone knows?
Yeah it’s true to size
what jacket was that??
It’s the adidas blondey jacket that came out a few months back. It’s a 3M fencing jacket.
@@DavidBluetile thanks
Quick question, are you guys getting the kcdc sb dunk high's on the 29th? Because I heard rumors that they're releasing around that time
We will have them on the release day. It’ll be most likely a raffle
@@DavidBluetile thank you
*Here representing for 🐔 & Ws*
hey hey!!! dope! that was a fun show.
Proper skate shoe
👍👍👍👍👍👍
More shoes of this 👍👍👍👍👍👍
🙌🏾🙏🏾
Sick shoe! Cupsole all the way.
same. although they have been putting some extra bells in vulc shoes in the last several years. I still need the comfort of a cup sole
Nice!
🙌
Skater owned shoes ftw
haha word. plus Rob Welsh is the G
Are Lakais true to size?
Yeah I’d say so. I can do a poll on the community page if you’d like. Not sure how people will respond to it. Lemme know if you want me to try that
Thank you for the fast response! I’ll give them a try, your video helped 🤝

do you think its different from the sole you had back in high school? it is definitely a flexible sole. some people really dig that.

hate how these always get compared to dunks based of silhouette, price wise these the way to go and Lakai been skate based since the day they hatched
