Earlier today, I was watching a vlog from someone else of a PH waterfall and they were describing the Gatorade water. On their vlog, the water looked milky green (jade-like), not like Gatorade at all. So, when you talk about clear water and how blue it is AND it shows that way in your vlog, nicely done. Must go to Seitan Limania near Chania and Vai to the east. Agia Pelagia also recommemded. Some of the best beaches in Crete, coming from a Greek Australian who has travelled Greece extensively.
@@DeathByVlog That's great. My heritage is from Crete, so it feels great to know so many people love the place. Was my comment the inspiration or just coincidence hehe. If you are looking for the most beautiful scenery you will ever see, please do the walk through the famous Samaria Gorge National Park, also not far from Chania. It is absolutely breathtaking and a once in a lifetime opportunity. If you can't do the the full 16km hike, you can enter from the bottom at Agia Roumeli, as the last 5 kilometres has amazing scenery. This is a must do in Crete, but beware, you will be very sore in the days after. Balos beach and the Lagoon there is another incredible location, accessed by boat near Chania. So much to see, Good luck and enjoy. If you need more amazing spots, let me know, know plenty of amazing places.

I went to Elafonisi 2 years ago in summer and it was absolutely seathing with people. Beach going on an industrial scale. I also visited in September 1989 and it was very busy even back then. It's a lovely place but it has become a victim of its own success
I live near by and I prefer to go in other not so great beaches for this reason... You can never enjoy it with not so many people.. only December 🙄. I miss it 20 years ago
I went there in '91. The Mrs and I took the bus from Chania. It was an easy trip, and not so many tourists. You failed to go to the small chapel on the island. That is where you should have taken your picture of the sunset.

@@DeathByVlog I work a lot in Crete and for me is the most beautiful place in the island, either you can go with car but also is nice with the boat that stop in Gramvousa fortress with amazing view. And of course Chania old town, Preveli beach, Vai Palm Beach. Not mention that you can take a high speed boat from Heraclion and visit the amazing Santorini Island. Hope you have great time and waiting to see your nice videos. :)

I'm wondering whether you confused Elafonisi with Balos beach - I think Balos Beach further north is better know for its pink sand. BTW - if you want diversity in Greece try mountainous Epirus. It is off the well-worn tourist track but truly fantastic.
We definitely know Balos is the beach for the pink sand but no car rental service would allow us to drive there 🙁 This beach does have pink sand but a very small amount lol. Next time we are in Crete we are going to search for a car rental place that will allow us to visit Balos because it looks amazing!

Interesting that you were not allowed to use the drone. One of the best videos that I've seen of Elefonisi is with a drone, by a greek guy. In English his name is, I think, Fibos.I I can't write it in greek. He's has some stunning footage of Crete.

That’s what we have seen. But coming in November at the end of the season made it so much more relaxing.
Also Falassarna is a great beach in Crete ..nice video,i love Crete is mountain with sea and the best food.

Interesting that you were not allowed to use the drone. One of the best videos that I've seen of Elefonisi is with a drone, by a greek guy. In English his name is, I think, Fibos.I I can't write it in greek. He's has some stunning footage of Crete.
