To see all the hidden (and not hidden) gems of Crete you need to stay here for a long time. Suprices never stop here. Despite I live in Crete and i love exploring, every summer i discover new gems, that are not touristy enough and definattelly underestimated, that suprices me! I won't speek for the rest of Greece and the 6000 islands of this small country (small but with huge length of coastline). Your work is great and you are a lovely couple. Happy to see you next year (you must come at hight season). People is also great at summer and the choices are more.
Just an outstanding video content, photography, drone shots, facts you guys just did a super job on taking your audience into the theater of life long dreams that we all long to do but never get the chance.
Love that lake. You two really hit this place at the perfect time, no crowds, nice weather, and I’m sure the prices are better now too. I really loved the drone footage and the music added.
Your videos are still so damn good! Happy to tune in for your visit to this wonderful place; it's been almost 15 years since I went to Greece. Great place. Very nice people. And that dog is def yours now... hahaha
Good, California, morning my friends. Lovely footage, and gorgeous places you are sharing with us. As a life long NYer, you should really consider Cali. The weather is awesome, folks are pretty friendly and the cost basis isn’t that bad. Quality of life is high. Keep the vids coming
DeathByVlog it’s different and you have to drive most places. But, it’s gorgeous here, and there is so much to do and so many places available within 2-4 hours drive.
You guys are awesome!! About it all being closed for the winter, I think that being a Catalan myself from the sea coast and living now the North East of the US. The way we looked at it, us "Mediterraneans" is that 50F is cold! Lol! Now that I live in CT I also think that between 50-70F is SO nice and warm! Haha! Keep them coming, please!! I love your videos :P
We first went to the lake by walking from Georgioupoli in 1986 and 1987. At that time there were about 2 tavernas and 3 pedalos for hire. When we went again in 2006 and the tourist village you saw had grown up. It was still nice but the growth in 20 years was surprising.
Our family visited Crete in 1991 just after the greek national higher education entry exams with 4 other close families that had kids my age and that was probably our last vacation with our parents as kids. Although it has been almost 30 years, it has been engraved in our souls. We stayed probably 10 or so days. We visited Chania, Agios Nikaloaos, Rethymno, Ierapetra, Matala, Samaria, Vai and probably more I forget. I remember meeting a lot of non-greek permanent residents that share the same story: "We just came as tourists for a week and decided to stay for the rest of our lives". That is what Crete does to you. It has done it for me and even before I immigrated to the US, I stated that I am going to retire to Crete. BTW, when Bendan Von San did his Greek videos (last year, I think) is when his videos popped up on my youtube recommended list and I subscibed to his channel. Same happened with I don't know if it's human nature to get drawn by people foreign to your country reviewing its places, especially when you miss it and you're so far away. It might probably be a greek thing. After all nostalgia, nostos is a greek word. You are going to love Paros, we were there last summer (3rd time for me) and it is where my Wife would like to retire to, but she hasn't been to Crete. Drink some Souma on my behalf.
Ryan - I know I am being a broken record but I continue to be in awe of your camera work and editing. Lake Kournas looks stunning, But your visit to Khao Sok National Park in Thailand still takes the cake. Both vlogs are top notch though!
Thanks man! Khao Sok was insane. I still remember first laying eyes on that scenery. This lake was amazing too but I agree, not as memorable as Thailand 😊
Crete is probably the paradise of Greece (or Hellas, as we use to call our country), even though there are many beautiful places in Greece, hope you enjoy your staying here, and visit us again soon!!!
Denver Colorado. Its cold in the winter but theres a lite rail so you dont have to drive, tons to do! I suggest a visit in winter but try the city of Parker its a suburb however it has one of my favorite malls Park Meadows Mall its still on the lite rail so its just a ride to downtown or any of the areas
We first discovered this place in 1987 when there were about 3 pedalos to rent. Last time we went in the summer of 2006 there were 3 companies renting out pedalos. It was also visited by English poet and artist Edward Lear in the 1860s
Love it in the med, and Greek islands winters are short plenty of rainfall etc slot of Greeks from the island head back to mainland Greece etc ...end of February its starts to get better December and January rough months
Totally! That would’ve been really cool. But there’s always so much to think about when trying to capture a photo and film at the same time. It can get pretty chaotic 🤣
Wow that Lake looks beautiful and clean but after Stacia said it's haunted I changed my mind about going there.lol Hey guys, check out Portugal (Lisbon or Porto) as a possible relocation place but just a suggestion. Be safe guys!
Hey manny!!! Hope you’re doing well 😊 Congrats on retirement! We’ve always wanted to go to Portugal.. I hear it is a little expensive, what are your thoughts?
DeathByVlog Well, you guys already know Thailand is a great base. But, I like Boquete, Panama and Lake Atitlan, Guatemala, too. My home the last few years has been Saigon. Can’t say enough good things about it. Bali seems to suit you two, as well... decisions, decisions.🤪
So many choices and you’re not helping things 🤣 We likes Vietnam but Thailand (Chiang Mai) would be high on our list. But it’s so damn hot there during the summer months haha
I am too sorry we missed you guys..We are located about 10' from Kournas Lake and we are still open! :). www.dourakiswinery.gr ;) See you next time! What a great video!! Beautiful content!
Hey there, Ryan & Stacia! I am from Bangladesh and I am a big big fan of yours. Specially Stacia, because I have had crush multiple times on her. 😂✌ You guys should definitely visit Bangladesh. We would be very glad if you come and visit Bangladesh and make some vlogs here. ♥ from Bangladesh.
I don't have any words to say about your video editing skills!!! They are just..... :)
Thank you so much! That really brightens my day 😊

Thank you! Actually, I don’t use a gimbal. The vlog camera, the one I talk to, doesn’t have IBIS so when walking and talking it can be a bit unstable.

Nice to see you two beautiful souls back at it. Enjoyed all three(so far) Greece vids.

Hi 👋🏻 Yes, we got super lucky with the fact there was no one else out on that lake. It was awesome! 😊
I'm from Rethymnon and you took the best video and shots of lake. Bravo!!!
Thanks and we’re glad you like the video! Such an amazing lake 😍 Hope you enjoy the other Greek videos as well!
Awesome video guys that lake looked amazing 😎loving your travels of Greece 😀
Thanks Tony! This place was amazing ❤️
Amazing footage! I was there maybe 10 years ago and the lake with paddling boats was indeed amazing experience. Definently a must see at Crete.

I love this lake, winter or summer has a different beauty.
Also, this lake is bottomless.
Bottomless??? Now I’m intrigued 😊
We were here last year in June and it wasn’t too busy. But a lovely spot. Loving seeing it again. And turtles everywhere.
It is such a great spot 😊 Although we didn’t see any turtles. Maybe because of the lower temperatures.
DeathByVlog when we were there they were cooking meat in the streets over a fire in glass cabinets which I didn’t see in your video.
Yes, we saw that! So cool 😎

They shut down because there’s not enough tourists but also they have the olives to take care of which is a lot of work. It’s always around November.
