I married (second time) into my husband’s house in NJ. He’s 1/2 Italian, and his mom and the other Italians call it pasta fazool! So that’s what we call it. I’ve made it many times, we love it. I’ve always used ground beef and the ditalini, but it all works! Thanks for recipe!

Panera has a lot of recipes done in these famous restaurants but is not 100% homemade and it’s filled with too much salt and fat and that’s what people are addicted to so that’s why we as AMERICANS go to these places, America has become super lazy when it comes to cooking at home and some people just don’t have the time they work 12 hr. shifts and it’s hard to work 12 hrs.and then have enough stamina to cook before or after a day that is so long, I appreciate you for what you share with us, to me YOU are an amazing cook and you seem to be so insecure about what you’re doing WHILE MAKING YOUR GREAT RECIPES but to me you’re amazing especially having a kids and A husband & two dogs

I might be the odd ball out here. But I love the zuppa Toscana at the olive garden as is. What I like is that it is more on the brothy side. Don't get me wrong, when I make my potato soup I do as you do, smashing the potatoes to make it creamy. I usually use russet and Yukon gold or red skinned potatoes together for the potato soup as the russet tend to break apart.
When I make the zuppa Toscana however I like the Yukon or red skinned potatoes. Cut into slices.
I will add the cream and kale (finely chopped) just at the end. With the heat turned off.
But that's just my preference, and I also like to make adjustment to different dishes to our liking.
I also love their chicken and gnocchi soup.

This is a delicious soup. May I make a suggestion cut the potato’s in small enough pieces to fit on the soup spoon before you cook them in the broth. I would not want to try and break up the potato’s while dealing with a hot liquid boiling on the stove you have a good chance of getting burned.

You can also use a potato masher to break the potatoes apart.

I wish you had the copycat recipe for Panera’s chicken gnocchi, my favorite.

Has anyone used spinach instead of kale? I’m not a kale fan. I tried it once raw and the texture was too much for me and the taste was bitter. Is kale better cooked?
One of your videos popped up on RUclips and I watched it and I love your channel! Now I get to do my favorite thing and binge watch your videos!! Oh and I did subscribe. Beautiful bread!! Girl! These soups look so delicious! Gotta try them! I have eaten the chicken gnocchi at Olive Garden too and it’s great.

@sherrywilliams409 I'm so happy to hear that. Thank you! Welcome to the channel 😊
I'm not a fan of raw kale for the same reason, but there is no bitterness noticeable with it cooked into the soup. I have tried spinach in the soup before, but we honestly think the kale tastes better for this recipe. Hope that helps!

@@rockymountainhomesteadangela I’m going to go ahead and try the kale cooked and see if I like it better that way. I just hope it cooks down as good as spinach does. And thank you.

My daughter loves the kale in this so much that I triple it in the initial batch and often add more when it's reheated! It absorbs the flavors from the broth, it's delicious!
