Nice video. Gotta love the ground clearance! There is an oil prime function you can use on the first start after the change. Press down the brake and accelerator , press start and keep holding the pedals down. This will circulate oil after the change and prevent the engine from actually starting. Once it completes, you are good to go with a normal start.
Thanks for the video. They filled at factory with 7 (7.5 actually 1st fill) the dipstick used by Ford in the 2.7L shows it above the twist in the stick. Now Ford has changed the manuals/tech info to show 6 qt fill. (Which will match dipstick markings)They are also saying 7 won’t cause damage. The forums are in a frenzy as to what is correct. Fun stuff right?
So confusing for sure. I figure if it marked right on the stick they can't say shit if it breaks. But of course warranties are a complete scam so if you do the oil change yourself you're fucked. But hopefully this video helped you thanks for watching.
I used 6.5 qt on my first oil change refill! But, i believe that 6 qts is the correct amount and will probably adjust for the next oil fill! I wouldn’t place to much stock into the disgruntled ramblings of self-appointed forum oil change gurus (especially Bronco6G) when Ford has permanently put this matter to rest!
I have the Ronin oil drain plug on my Bronco, makes draining the oil much less stressful as you can control the flow. Plus it has a magnetic tip on the plug.
TIP: depress & hold the break & gas pedal at the same time, press the start button & the Bronco will run a cranking cycle to cycle the new oil in the engine with out starting up.
Great video ,but to know when i need to change my oil i need to know my oil life. While i can figure out hownto reset it,i cant figure out how to veiw it? Any ideas.
I agree. I’ve also found that putting the tiny gasket on the top of the oil filter is easier before lubing it up. Less chance of it slipping from my hand and slingshotting into the void xD
You can prime the motor before u start it up. Hold the brake and gas pedal down then push the start button and it will Crank the motor for a few seconds, priming the oil thru out the engine.
I don't know what the part number is but is a screw cap so it shouldn't have to be replaced unless it's broken. I would however check the o ring on the plug and make sure it's in good condition so you can replace that if needed.
is part number KX6Z-6730-B. The parts guy at Ford said no needed to change it each time, unless the o ring is damaged or the plug is broken in any way. Be sure to lub the o ring before re installing
Sounds like yours does the same thing mine does. I just brought it home this past Wednesday and (new to the 2.7 ford) I hear that knocking sound on startup every time. I was about to replace the oil filter thinking I had a faulty check valve but then I heard yours and I hear the same noise. It goes away after driving it but then after it sits for a few minutes and restart, I hear it again. I guess it’s normal? I hear that on yours think?? It knocks with the speed of the rpm.
Go to my channel, I just uploaded a video of it on there I took the other day to send to the dealer. I was so worried about that sound. Tot Tot Tot Tot Tot .. About the 13 second mark. I’m pretty sure I hear that same sound in yours. If so I’m absolutely relieved. Like I previously mentioned, once you driving down the road a minute it goes away, but then after you let it sit, it comes back when you start it. Test it out, see if you hear the same thing
I hope you don't have a half quart of old dirty oil left in the engine. My cars, all Fords, usually are right on what the manual says. That filter looks like a real bugger to mess with. Love your Bronco!

Wow. THANK YOU for got this tip.
Oh, nice tip.
Dude! I love the fact that you said that your wife yells at you all the time! I'm in the same boat!!!
Haha amen
My X wife did, hence X wife. My new wife never has an issue with anything that I do. LOL

Really helpful. Well done with clear video and smooth presentation.
Thank you for watching

That would be great upgrade! Thank you

Great video! Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us!
Thank you for watching
Good job but might recommend changing plug O ring and after you’re done reset oil life in dash computer.
Thanks man and yeah I forgot to film that part my bad.
You should also press both brake and gas to the floor and crank the motor. This is a feature that will allow you to prime the motor before you start.
Thank you for the information

Should be on the dash under vehicle settings I believe
Really good and entertaining video. You actually made looking changing the oil easy. :) Good job!
Thanks bud

@@shadow04cool yup! I did that once 😆
I have this same engine in my f-150 and that little o-ring for the filter still gets me sometimes lol. Thing will slip and fling across the garage.
Same brother!

What is the part number for the oil drain plug? Where do you buy it from? Do they have to be replaced every oil change? Thanks

I prefer Fram ultra synthetic oil filters. You can’t go wrong with Mobil 1. Get a torque wrench for the oil filter housing.
Amen
fram is junk
Check out Baxter Performance oil filter adapter
Have you used it?
@@mcmahansgarage nope, but it will be one of the first things I put on when I get mine

Idk I have never actually heard what you're talking about I'll have to watch the video and figure it out

Thanks for the tutorial. I have a quick question, if I change the oil myself does it void my factory warranty?
No
Just be sure to keep the receipt for the oil & filter and write the mileage on it for the service record.
Love it! Thanks
Thank you for watching
"We're gonna dump a whooooole....big ass jugginhere." 😂
Haha yuuuuup
What state are in brother

Thank you friend
ford says 6 qts. You should have measured what you took out for the first change.
Eh just check the dip stick
Lmfao not me watching the entire video then realizing wait is this for the 2.3? 😢 😂
Lol title says 2.7
🤣💀 bruh
It takes 6q for a 2.7 NOT 7!!!!
That’s what mine took. Check your dip stick though
Are you still putting 7quarts in?
Sure am
So it is just like the F-150.
Pretty much
Crazy plastic oil pan and drain plug
Yes a little scary for something that's made to go offroad
leave it to ford to make changing oil a Damm pain in the ass lol
Honestly nothing is easy anymore. They legit don't want people working on their own cars.
@@mcmahansgarage yep i agree but some of us are hardheaded and do it anyways lol
@@bryan70546 haha same
What was a pain in the ass about changing the oil?
@LOBSTERPwn just taking the two bolts out for the skid plate. That's really about it.
