It's funny that Bachiko points out that Iruma's parents are messed up. Considering its said from a demon speaks volumes on the situation.
His parents are so awful that selling his soul to a demon is actually the BEST thing they did to him... that's saying something!!

Iruma is usually just an innocent boy but he has these single times every arc where he is full blown bad*ss that are always a treat to watch. Him literally shooting his fears down is great imagery for his development as well

I know he's a fictional character, but I just felt so proud of Iruma after this episode.
I have watched this scene so many times and only now just realized that when the arrow hits the creature, the image it shows is Iruma’s parents. I think that is supposed to symbolize him fully accepting his life as a “demon” or just good catharsis
This series has it all, cute moments, wholesome, loveable characters, funny, and sad moments and most importantly keeps you wanting more.
This scene is so well made! I also love the connection that Iruma and Bachiko have. They are so much closer than the other student and teacher pairs.

I must've watched well over 100 different anime series in my life, but there's something about Iruma that makes him one of my favorite characters. He's just a good boy who's easy to root for.

This anime is so visually appealing to me I’d say it’s one of my top 3 anime (mainly cause of Clara)

I expect by the time Iruma finishes school, he will be the Demon King but also someone who doesn't always say, OK to every request made of him, also, I think his two closest friends or prehaps the whole misfit class will know that he is human, yet respect him for who he is and as he is!
I'm genuinely hoping for something like that. It's the one thing that's holding Iruma back--the fact that he is (by necessity) lying to his friends. I really hope it's addressed in a thoughtful way at some point, not just permanently swept under the rug.

the lore and characters of this show really interest me, but after seeing more clips, i remembered why i stopped watching lol. there is zero subtlety, it almost seems like every time the chsracters feel something, they just _have_ to say it out loud. its like the writer is worried it would go over our heads lol

Meh, you may not like it but this anime does have it’s wholesome moments. In fact that Iruma character development Of wanting to be a hero is similar to another anime boy I know who also wants to be hero: Deku
@@dhavidangelodeguzmanmarian7965 I'd argue that Iruma doesn't want to be a hero, he just is one without trying. Iruma is learning to be selfish after 14 years of people-pleasing. It's just that one of the main things he wants is for the people he cares about to be safe and happy: yes, that includes random innocent people.
