    Hopefully the contrast/saturation can be tweaked in HDR mode - crushed blacks aren't good! Elden Ring is beautiful in HDR, but if you have crushed blacks then you lose a lot of atmosphere! There are pitch black areas (caves) that you do need a torch to light up, but there's lots of dark areas where you should still be able to see detail! The starting room is a good example, tweak your settings so you can make out the furniture etc. For Elden Ring I found the best result by far was to turn OFF in-game HDR and use SpecialK for HDR. I do this for most games. Actually for Elden Ring specifically I use SweetFX as it's required for a DLSS mod. Elden Ring looks stunning in HDR, but you need to put some time into tweaking it. Looked fantastic on my HDR400 monitor with no FALD. My G7 should come tomorrow - looking forward to see how it stacks up, hoping it's a big improvement :)

      @@jtothebone4151 It's a great monitor.
      I didn't notice any motion blur when gaming in 4k HDR on the PS5 and PC, it's very smooth!
      The contrast is outstanding because it has a VA panel and the great local dimming feature and HDR enhances it even further. It's obviously not as good as an Oled but it's pretty damn close. This is one of the main reasons I decided to buy the G7, I believe it has a 1 million-1 contrast ratio with local dimming enabled. IPS panels have bad contrast and that isn't my cup of tea, it's good for gaming but dark scenes in games/movies look really bad. The G7 in dark scenes looks great and you don't lose out on any detail, the blacks are very dark and don't look grey
      The colors look great, the quantum dot display combined with HDR 2000 and high contrast ratio really makes colors pop and it makes bright hilights really stand out. I'll admit that the colors don't look as good as my oled TV but it still looks fantastic. My panel withoit color calibration looked a bit too reddish but after calibration it looks perfect
      People over exaggerate the blooming issue on this monitor, it's barely noticable, the only people that moan about blooming have OCD or something, it really isn't that distracting, the only downside is the viewing angles aren't the greatest but I expected it to be a lot worse because of all the reviews I read, it's quite decent for such an aggressive curve.
      Overall it's a great monitor all around, perfect for gaming in 4k and multimedia but I obviously wouldn't recomenned it for editing and doing professional work because of the curve, this is strictly for gaming and consuming content. I would say it's a bit pricey for £860 and I got it on sale, it costs 1100 now, I'm not sure if it's worth it for that price, but I won't be sending it back because I'm very happy with it.
      Sorry for the late reply, I had RUclips notifications off for some reason haha.

    I finally managed to fine tune my Neo G7 settings just right and BTW holy crap HDR gaming looks as good as our guy here described it. However, my main problem is how to make productivity/work look good as well. Here are my settings, maybe they'll help someone. No fancy calibration gear, just my Apple M1 Pro XDR screen to compare it to, and my eyes.
    Color profile from RTINGS review of Neo G7.
    Adaptive Synch: On
    Black Equaliser: 10
    Brightness: 65
    Contrast: 75
    Sharpness: 60
    Contrast Enhancer: On
    Color: Normal, Gamma Mode 3, Saturation 60
    Local Dimming: Auto
    Adjust brightness according to your lighting, but this worked the best for my environment.
    For HDR gaming you turn it on in Windows first, and brightness on monitor shoots up to 100 by itself. Some games, like Mass Effect Legendary Edition, even turn on the Windows HDR themselves.

      @CellarDoorCS Год назад +1

      The rtings profile - that worked for that particular panel and whatever firmware it had. I would advise against using it. It is only making things worse.
      You want to select custom color profile within the Color menu. That is the factory calibrated profile. Which is uploaded into your monitor default. That is made for Mode 1.
      Rest of your settings are correct. Brightness being personal preference. Also STANDARD is the best setting for motion blur vs overshoot. Faster will show some overshoot.

      @Shailendra ....and if we're being honest, my entire pc setup is worth over 20K. You should know it's retarded to list how much your setup is worth online without being asked, it means nothing & you just come off as a jackass looking for attention & validity. There's always a bigger fish out there. That was the point of my post. Just saying...

    Hi
    Can someone drop the spec to build a mid range gaming cpu which is compatible with this monitor in the video?
    Newbie to building a gaming pc here ...so need a little help

    • @doa-rave
      @doa-rave Год назад

      Mid range, AM4 motherboard for AMD cpu (any that's in your price range) CPU Ryzen 7 5800x3d, PSU unit depends on what GPU you get get one that's at least 250 more watts then you need , GPU wouldn't go lower then a one with at least 12 gig vram , ramm 32-64 gigs 16 CL 3600mhz, SSD any 1-2tb Nvme m.2 get two of them . PC builder has a lot of good videos for PC builds just look up his 5800x3d budget builds for a good price onid range builds .

      Pretty sure he's on about the monitor itself shaking in it's stand - it's just due to the design of the stand. Very obvious at the start of the vid where arm movements 25cm+ away were causing very visible shaking lol. I tend to put the stands aside and use a monitor arm - even if the stand is good and solid they tend to annoy me when repositioning my keyboard or even monitor, just so much nicer using an arm, which should remove this shake too.
