  • Add the right ingredients and a cake will be uniform every single time! this isn't how treating insomnia works.
Just because you do everything perfectly that does not mean that you will get the same results every single time.
There are so many variables that can and do affect your sleep and it is literally impossible to control all of them.
The only thing you can go is put the right behavioural changes in place to increase the likelihood of sleep happening and then just stay out of it's way!

This video was so important. Because I felt was making progress by following CBTi since last 6-7 days. Suddenly yesterday night I fell asleep very late even though I went to bed like I was doing since last week. And hence I was getting anxious. But now after your video I am thinking about the progress I have made in last week rather than one last bad night.

Thank you! Yes it's really important to set your expectations correctly as it will be very de motivating to progress and then have a small set back and think it's the end of the world.
However, it's not only normal but inevitable. Progress is never linear and nobody gets perfect sleep every night. As long as people realise this and stay the course it stops them giving up when they were so close!
      Glad your sleep is improving!

Hi, yes sounds like it, a feeling of dissociation. Michelle and I talk about this in a video called - insomnia - I now know what to do but it's too hard to do it! Check that one out. She calls it a wall, I like it to being sat on a train with everything flying past and greyed out, always separate.
