      My pleasure! It’s nice to stumble on these things. I’ve dealt with mouser electronics for years, but never thought I’d find the J3 plug!

    I have a 2006 93 aero manual and would like navigation. I found out by running the Vin my car was made for the Canadian market but I live in the USA. Does this make easier or is it still very difficult.

    Thanks for your great videos, do you know if I replace the oem VCIM to a Bluetooth one on my 2008 saab, then can I use bluetooth to call and play music? I've heard that nonnav ones with bluetooth can only be used for calls not playing music, same thing with navigation head unit?

    • @WeakestofWeeks
      @WeakestofWeeks  Год назад

      Thanks for the comment! So if you add in the bluetooth enabled VCIM you'll only get bluetooth. Sadly it won't enabled music streaming regardless of Nav or not. You'd have to get an aftermarket head unit or get a bluetooth adapter. I have one that plugs into the cigarette lighter and then you set to a certain radio statio. Surprisingly works well.

    What if your car doesn’t have onstar buttons? Mine is a facelifted 2007 93 convertible.

    Any chance of a hands-free video? I saw a channel with a guy claiming he swapped one of these with one that enabled hands-free calling unless it's the same?

    I live in New Jersey bro. I want the Bluetooth and pretty much have the exact same set up as you aero manual 2007. Could I pay you for the Bluetooth set up?

    • @WeakestofWeeks
      @WeakestofWeeks  5 лет назад +1

      I don't currently have a bluetooth module and even if I did, I would need to physically hook your car up with my tech 2. Sorry friend I would but NJ is too far away.

    Does Blue shoot work with the non-nav to?And do I only need that module for my 07?

    • @WeakestofWeeks
      @WeakestofWeeks  5 лет назад

      Yep, bluetooth will also work for non-nav units. Look for part # 20829984 or 20787107 for bluetooth VCIM. You still need to hook up the two wires from your radio to the VCIM. Two wires hookups will be different than whats shown in this vid though. Also, radio needs to be bluetooth capable which they weren't in 07. What's nice about the nav units is that both versions support bluetooth.

      Thx for the quick reply,dont know if my headunit is 07 i replaced it with the type with the 6 disc changer.

    • @WeakestofWeeks
      @WeakestofWeeks  5 лет назад +1

      Pretty sure the 9-3 had the bose 6 disk changer from 2007 to 2011 so I'm not sure which part numbers would work. You may be able to do a little research that could narrow it down.

    Can I do this mods in my 06 9-3 non Aero? Also have a 02 9-3 SE with OnStar....

    I have the nav in my 07 9-3 but the am/fm doesn’t work along with navigation could it be a vcim problem?

    • @WeakestofWeeks
      @WeakestofWeeks  5 лет назад +1

      I don't think those would be caused by a faulty VCIM. Radio reception may be related to the antenna, which is also the rear defroster. If there is a small break in it you will get poor reception. If nav doesn't work could be a map disk issue (normally comes up with a map disk error) or the actual navigation module inside the radio is bad. I actually have a vid coming out soon where I replace this module so I can use a more up to date/cheaper GM style map disk. On a side note, here is more info on the antenna issue/potential fix: www.saabcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=590274&=1

    • @WeakestofWeeks
      @WeakestofWeeks  5 лет назад +1

      It utilizes the factory onstar mic thats mounted up by the inside rear view mirror.

    Does your onstar still work?

    • @WeakestofWeeks
      @WeakestofWeeks  5 лет назад

      It does not. I believe if you run an antenna from the head unit to the roof mounted antenna instead of running antenna adapters (shown in my pt.1) you may gain onstar back. I don't use it so I'm not worried about making it work again.

    Why even take the VCIM out? Just work on your back.

    Hi! its possible BLUETOOH ? best regards!!

    • @WeakestofWeeks
      @WeakestofWeeks  5 лет назад

      Yes. You would need to switch VCIM's to part number 20829984 or 20787107 for bluetooth. You can find the bluetooth capable VCIM in all 2009 saab 9-3's and was an option on 2010 and 2011, so be sure to pay attention. All should have the J1, J2, and J3 electrical sockets and 2 falkra antenna connectors, but only the bluetooth module will have the additional small (bluetooth) antenna attached.
