Very helpful video. I am looking for a 9-3 daily driver, as a companion to my '99 Viggen project car. My prior SAABs were pre-internet, and I spent way too much time haunting wrecking yards.
Thank you so much to share these information. I’m preparing to buy a nice SAAB, this video really helps me a lot to understand the cost of maintenance and parts source.
I used to shop around before eSaabparts emerge out of nowhere. Now I shop Saab OEM parts from eSaabparts exclusively, not just for its competitive pricing, but also for its support of the Saab Heritage Museum. The man who runs it also loves Saab, so I know he’s gonna do whatever he can to do the best thing for the Saab community.
For non OEM parts I usually go to rockauto, but I do shop around after taking shipping into consideration.
Hey, thanks for the superb video. Appreciate the wealth of information as someone just getting interested in looking for a Saab (9-3 convert, 2001+/-). Newbie (or soon to be) questions: Is the Haynes Manual worth buying? Other suggestions? Lastly, can you do a video on the best tools (i.e. all necessary tools) and any stuff you think a new Saab owner should have for DIY? Prudence is super cute (miss mine). Thanks dude. Best compliments to you and keeps safe.
Great site. I appreciate the information. I live in Queensland Australia and I dread anything going wrong on my 9-3. Thanks.
Genuine Saab has a stage 1 tune kit by BSR and it’s amazing!! I recommend that tune for Saab owners lmao it takes like 2 mins tops to install
I owned a SOB once.... Oops your talking about a Saab. Mine was a Chevy. Hated it. Lol
FYI, Row52 you can setup a profile, save searches, and get email / text notifications.
New sub to your saab content, thank you for taking the time to make these videos.
How do I get security access I installed the keyspan usb I'm getting error occurred thanks
Hi Gary, thanks for your Saab resources video. I have a '09 9-3 Aero convertible and live in Upper Arlington.
Hello Ed! Glad you find my videos helpful. I'm not far from Arlington. I'm in SW Columbus.
Add Pelican Parts to the list. Good for maintenance items. Expedited shipping too.👍
I just did a 500 mile radius search for a Saab 93 here in Georgia and the only car that pulled up was the one you went and picked parts off of it in Columbus. Ha ha
Oh no really? Lol. I've been lucky with the amount of Saabs being parted out in OH and forget other areas aren't always the same way.
Dude chuck and eddies in Southington Ct... there underpass auto in wallingford I always get saab stuffyhrte

What part of Ohio? I’m in central Ohio, I want to buy a Saab, but I am not sure which one yet...
I'm in Columbus!
@@WeakestofWeeks I'm in Columbus and looking to buy my first Saab. Would you be interested in getting together, I'd love to pick your brain before I purchase one.
@@tonydunham193 Yes I could probably help!
@@WeakestofWeeks that would be great! My gmail is TDgobucks
I have a question,I have a 2001 93 turbo saab it start ran good for three days I shut car off after getting back it sat four an hour I went to crank would not start then I waited til night that day it started the next day it started got it home that day turned key off it wouldn't start finally it started and I drove it to advanced to code check it no codes at all and it wants to start but then it doesn't start its Been sitting five days. I don't understand why some days it starts and when you shut off key it don't ,need help asap
Sounds like a possible crank sensor. They often won't set a code. Also, they are temperature sensitive. Often act up for example, you start it ok, drive to the store, come out and it only cranks over but won't start. Later when the car cools off, it starts.
I bought crank sensor put it on no luck
Don't know if you fixed your problem, but had the same problem. The equivalent of the neutral safety switch. Fixed.
Great video!

Yes, I agree!
Saab told me don't buy aftermarket parts they cause issues
Not true. AC Delco.
Nah I’ve installed a K&N cool air Intake, a subframe brace, and a strut bar and then tuned it with BSR stage 1. If anything these aftermarket parts made Saab even better (or at least made my Saab that much better)
It depends. Hirsch, maptun, griffin, are some companies that make aftermarket parts specifically for saab.
Where is a good place to buy a Saab, due to the salt and grit on Ohio’s roads
I've seen a lot of good (cared for) Saabs on Craigslist and small local dealers that weren't rusted out. When you get more north into Cleveland and Michigan is where you really start to see them rusted out.
Chad I have a 2008 9-3 Aero 2.8T I’m considering selling. Only has 93K, Silver in color and spent most of it’s life in AZ. Absolutely no rust and looks new inside and out. Located in Missouri.

Just dont use neo bros or autohaus lafrenz.....terrible customer service after giving them your money.
