Nobody talks about their benefits... thank you.
Of course! Thanks for watching 💕
They don’t.They always complaining about everything🤭
I’m going into nursing and this video was SO informative! Nobody actually goes into detail of their actual pay as a nurse.
I’m glad that it helped! Congrats on coming into the field! 💕
New
Thank you soooo much for going into depth with your actual pay AND benefits!
Of course! I’m glad you enjoyed it 💕
I'm glad u said "DONT DO IT FOR THE MONEY". Nursing is not easy and if its not your passion you will not be happy (and everyone, including your patients will sense it), and you'll burn out fast
I agree!!! So many nurses quit because they get in it for the money and not for the passion. I think it’s so important to speak on it because you don’t want to make the mistake of getting into a career and not enjoying your job. I had some people in my classes doing it because they see it as always having job security. Then you turn around and see people saying I quit nursing because I found my passion doing blah blah blah. So I hear you!
Yes it’s definitely something that happens a lot! Because nursing isn’t for everyone especially if you’re just doing it for money. Thank you so much for sharing and watching 💕
$26 base should be outlawed.. nurses need so much more!!!! my new grad base is $46/hr
thank you for this! i’m only 16 and becoming a NICU nurse is my dream job❤️
Nurses are Divine.
They are doing a job which requires skill patience and knowledge.
Nursing is not about the money.
It is about service to humanity.
Your transparency is everything 🙌🏽 As a nursing student this was very helpful
Thank you so much!! 🤍
Next fall I’ll be in nursing school and I want to be a Nicu Nurse too😃. I love babies 👶🏾
Congrats! NICU was by far my favorite unit!
This really great. Thanks so much. No one really ever wants to talk about money and benefits. Very much appreciated to get an understanding.
I love how transparent and honest she is. I appreciate the ability to be upfront, cause honestly most people, nursing students and new grads alike, just wanna get an idea about these things even though they’re not in it for the money. Gives a good framework for future planning. Thanks girl 😊🙏🏽💕
Thank you so much for breaking it down the way you did... you’re the most thorough video I’ve seen!
Thank you so much for making this video, Tatiana. That’s one thing about being a nurse you can pretty much ask for whatever amount you’d like to make. Thanks for sharing the benefits of your job as as NICU Nurse. I wish you all the best in your job as a nurse and who knows how far this will take you. I hope you go as far as YOU & God take you and I’m
sure there’s never a dull moment in your position. Lots of love, blessings, stack your cash, love (you may one day want to come to California or become a traveling nurse), Save for your dream home and car, Tati. God Bless you and take care. Very informative & motivating video. You look very happy as well💞💞
Girrrl, your transparency is great. Thanks for that
Thanks for walking through exactly what it would look like for every pay differential. It was really well explained and made it easy to follow along for someone who is not in the nursing
field.
Thank u so much for the information, very informative. Just graduated with my BSN and taking my NCLEX soon. Sending love and appreciation from Compton, CA.
Thank you so much for this video. I was planning to move to Atlanta after I graduate from nursing school here in LA. I couldn't find any accurate information about how much RNs are making in Atlanta. Your video is super helpful! Thank you again!
Love the transparency! You seem super sweet and smart for investing in your retirement. I'm an LVN and I'm in an RN program. I plan on working in the NICU or PICU and I've been wanting to find more information about working in those departments. Thank you for the detailed info.
Thank you for saying the benefits paying a percentage of tuition . I had a tear in my eye and feel more confident to join the medical field. Thank you 😊
Very informative thank you ! The benefits alone are amazing 🙌
I graduate with my BSN in the Spring and hope to work in a NICU! Thanks for your transparency!
Thanks for being transparent about your pay. I'm about to finally embark on my journey to become a nurse. Keep the videos coming and I wish you nothing but continued success.
Thank you! I wish the same for you 💕
Thank you, while it is important to know what to expect or kind of depending on where you live. The other important points on going into the nursing field for the true passion is key. Also no worries love I think you’ll have many viewers no matter the topic. Really appreciate your informative videos, and looking forward to many more😉
I agree! Thank you and thanks for watching 💕
I myself want to be a Nicu nurse and I can’t wait! I’m still taking my prerequisite class and it seems like I’m taking forever to complete them 🙄🤦🏽♀️
In school it seems like forever lol but it goes by faster than you think!
Deona Boone Are the classes hard ?
Deanna ! Some of the classes are. Chemistry is hardddd !!!
That is my goal as well working with babies maybe labor and delivery I’m still in pre reqs too😒😢
Same here, I actually wanted to do it before my son but wasn’t too sure if I was doing it for myself or others benefit. After my son was born I turned away from the field, it was hard seeing him in the NICU. It’s been a year since then and now I’m going for it, I love babies and after my son I want to do all I can to help other parents feel better that at least someone who’s been through it understands them, cares for their child’s health as well, and know I will do everything in my power to help.
I’m so happy I got recommended this video. I’m in Atlanta and was wanting to know more about what to expect the pay to be so thank you so much! So many of these videos are people in California!
I’m glad I could help! Thanks for watching 💕
I really enjoy your videos! Thank you so much for sharing! Keep posting 🤍🤍🤍🤍
Thank you so much! I definitely will 💕
Love your videos I start school in 4 weeks at WCUI I’m excited I live in Los Angeles California... my journey was not easy but I’m glad I’m here ❤️
I’m so proud of you!!! I could never do peds period! I’m a new WHNP as of May and just received my authorization to practice last week! So I’m on the hunt!
wow this video was a guide and i’ve been wanting to be a nurse because i love helping people like and i also want to move up and become a nurse practitioner! you’re absolutely right my grandma was a nurse for 30 years and when she first became a nurse she didn’t get paid a lot she started at 70k and she ended with 101k a year .. she told me the more experienced you are the better.
GOALS 😭 NP’s make great money!
Wow this video was very informative thank you so much ❤️
Great video, I’m not a nurse or going into nursing school but I love the information and general knowledge. My future job plan is to work in a clinic. I’m an Athletic training student so we do a lot of emergency and immediate care and Rehab 👍🏽.
That’s cool! Thank you so much for watching 💕
This video is so helpful! 😩
Thank you love the video I’m getting ready to take my state boards for my RN
First video I watched! New subscriber! I love that you're so humble and genuine, I'm tired of all these nurses going in solely for the money and making it seem luxurious or like cushioney career.
Thank you! I always try to be real because it is not a luxury or cushioney career at all but it is a great career choice. Thanks so much you watching 🤍
Thank you for this !!
love tour lashes, nurses are always pretty!
Just found your channel!! I can tell I’m going to love it!!! Subscribing now 💗💗
Thank you so much for this video❣️❣️
Thank you for being open about this topic. A lot of nurses or people in general don’t like to share how much they get paid.
Of course! I’m glad that I could share with you all 💕
Tell us how much you get paid
@@alextroy9202 i don’t get paid anything since I’m not working as a nurse at the moment but as an LVN I used to get paid $19/hour in California.
@@alextroy9202 On my second job as an LVN doing home care (wound care) I was making $27/hr
Thank you soooo much for telling us in detail. I hate when people don’t wanna talk about money. We’re all trying to get our lives together and get careers, we at least would know how much exactly someone in our career is making lol
Of course! I’m glad I could help! 🤍
Thanks for sharing, I do feel this is important
No problem!
I appreciate this!!!
Dang you have so many benefits. Super awesome!
Thank you for the transparency 💖
And subscribed ❤️
Amazing vid 💜💜💜
Thank you!
Great video I'm a LVN and going to make it to the RN level 👍
Great video, it was very informative.
Thank you!
I just found your channel! Thanks for this video! ’ll be graduating in May and plan to relocate to Atlanta. I’m loving your channel and sent it to a few classmates 😂❤️
OMG ☺️ great video, I love your channel. I’m currently in school now praying I get in the sonography program. I hoping my channel grow too. I been think about vlogging.
That’s cool! You definitely should
@@TatiannaJ Thank you!
Thank you for this video. I love your eyelashes.
I’m a freshman in college & I haven’t started my nursing program (obviously😂) but I’m sooo ready to start taking classes! I’ve always wanted to be a NICU Nurse! I currently go to school in Alabama, but after my undergrad I plan to move to Florida & go to Grad school.
True sis medical field is not for everyone
I work as a pharmacy tech
Not even nursing
And goooosh I stress out a lot and it’s about having a lot of patience and I’m not even making those numbers like you.
That’s why I think about continuing with medical field or pursuing nursing. It’s hard it’s not easy it’s def a job that you really need to love.
Thanks for the transparency
Thank you for all you do
Hey, could you upload a video on what a handoff report in NICU sounds like? I’m a nursing student and don’t see a lot of videos on this, it would be very helpful. 😊
That’s a really cool idea! Thanks for watching 💕
I want to become a NICU Nurse . I want to become one after experiencing 3 of my 5 kidd having to spend lengthy time there . I would be down there so many hours . Taking in everything nurses did to bring my children home . I would pay attention to everything and hurt as a mother to not be able to bring your child home right away
I can’t even imagine, your experiences will make you a great NICU nurse! Thanks for watching 💕
Great video, thanks.
Love watching your video
It’s around 5 to 6 thousand a month if you work every day for 8 hours plus weekends on a 26$ an hour pay rate. Or minus the weekends probably 4,800 to 5,200 not adding in holidays.
New subbie & I’m in Atlanta! Thanks for posting this. I started nursing school yesterday. I graduate 2022 but love watching nursing videos, especially ones about pay/residency. How long is your residency program? And how long is your contract? I’ve seen videos where people said they left residency because the hospital wanted them to commit to 2 years of service.
Congratulations Baby
sis you're the bomb!Well articulated and informative, I felt like you were selling nicu and you sold me,lol, got me thinking about going in.lol. december 20 accel bsn graduate
Hi @desmikawhite. Congrats, how so would you recommend an accel Bsn? I’m nervous.
@@vane4346 You need a support system by your side.Friends and family.Maybe someone to cook for you, babysit kids if have any,, etc because you won’t be able to work.Loans are your bestfriends.
It’s doable,I had a 3.2 gpa but I killed my interview and had a great volunteer hx along with working as a Hha.
The sky is limit.Wishing you the best of lucks.🎀
New grad RNs in CT make 34-37 starting. That’s base pay. A friend in NY (not in the city) started at 40 an hour and a year in took a job on an ICU step down and gets 46 base pay.
I’m also from CT and in nursing school now. My friend started at $40 as a new nurse with her ADN it’s a dollar more if you have your BSN.
Hey new grad NICU Nurse here! I wanted to chime in and add for your followers ! I’m starting in a residency program in Tacoma ,WA offered $32.10 base pay + $4.25 shift differential. Our weekend diff is also $4.25. Everything is unionized here and I just moved from Florida. Comparatively the pay is REALLY decent for nurses here. My husband is military so housing and allowance is paid for. Nursing for me was a love but the money also fueled my passion because now I’m making triple of what I was making as a CNA and I get to do what I love! NICU is a competitive unit for new grads so I feel blessed
That’s good money! Washington seems like its kind of expensive to live so that’s a blessing that housing and everything is taken care of. And being in a union state is awesome!! It’s cool that you transitions from a CNA that’s an amazing way to start. NICU is very competitive but I love it! Thanks for sharing 💕
Tatianna Denize thank you!! Cost of living is kinda comparative except gas ! That’s expensive! Awesome video!
When are you starting the residency? I was considering that program :)
Ashley Kapaun I started back in March , I’m almost finished with residency! I’ll be on my own in a month
@@alexiaw9419That's exciting! Was it competitive to get in? Did you have a capstone in the NICU?
I liked how you explained everything including benefits because some of the nurses I watch on RUclips never explain the benefits part of being a rn .
Thanks! 🤍
Love your transparency! Thank for this video. Can you share what helped you pass the NCLEX-RN?
Yes I’m thinking about doing a video on that!
I take mine in December graduating with my BSN/RN any study helps for the boards will be appreciated! 😊
I just took mine last week & passed in 75 questions. Uworld is awesome! That's the main resource I used. 👍
Liked and Subscribed!☺️
I'm a nursing student in the Southwestern Georgia area, and the numbers are pretty similar here for new grads .
Thanks for watching 💕
Great video! I live in Atlanta also and I am doing my prereqs now.. what school did you go to? Also what schools do you recommend for nursing programs?
I went to Ga State! I also applied to Kennesaw which is a great school. Emory has a great nursing program as well they’re just very expensive. I haven’t researched it but I think chamberlain has one as well! Thanks for watching 💕
Tatianna Denize I go to Kennesaw state and I’m a first semester student. Thank you so much for this video!
Hi great video!! I am an aspiring nurse I particularly would like to go into Labor and delivery. When you clock in, is the differential automatically applied in the system or does the supervisor have to do anything special in order for you to get your extra money?
We clock in a special way and we also have this book that you write down things you would get extra pay for outside of your regular hours like working on call or attending education classes, orienting and things like that
Something important to keep in mind is with nursing your pay is going to progressively go up for a long time. Most nurses in arkansas who are in their late 30s tend to close in on 100k+ a year if they're working overtime and some night/weekend shifts. That doesn't even begin to include certain hospitals such as the VA, I know nurses there are making 120K+ a year in their mid 30s.
Working for big hospitals you can virtually pick up as many hours as you want. Working nights plus an extra night every pay period you can make 100,000 in Oregon
I know this is beside the point of the video, but . . . You are beautiful!
i love your channel !! but Hii , i was wondering since I go to a college in Louisiana will I able to transfer to Texas ? because I really want to move to Texas right after I graduate college..
I wish it was the case for all nurses. Some hospitals are non-profit so my facility doesn’t give holiday or weekend pay 🥺
Thanks 🙏🏽
Of course!
Thank you!
Of course! Thanks for watching 💕
Would benefits change if you change department? For example if you are a NICU nurse for a certain amount of years and decide to switch to the ER or ICU still in the same hospital would you have to go through the same process again or would everything stay the same and the only thing changing would be your department and salary? sorry if it’s a dumb question!!
Thanks so much babe
Thank you for sharing ! What school did you go to for your BSN and where do you work now ? I’m also in georgia and I’m researching different options
I went to Ga State and now work at Emory!
thank you !
@@TatiannaJ Emory pays well! I’ve been applying their. I’m looking to relocate Jersey is too expensive.
I’ll be an L&D new grad nurse resident in Maryland this August. I applied to one in Virginia, and they were also offering $26.00 an hour. I think southern states have a lower cost of living. The hospital I’ll be at, just 45 minutes north pays $28 an hour, but the cost of living is increased. Especially because I’m in a slightly wealthier area of Maryland.
Oh wow that’s interesting. I thought Maryland would start out a lot higher than is but I’m glad you got higher base pay at your hospital!
juliet what part of Maryland do u live in?
I'm just lovin' Hot Cheetos I don’t live there yet but I’m moving to annapolis!
@@juliet5413 I'm in MD & new grad as well. How was your L&D residency? I haven't decided which specialty to go into & I saw one video about postpartum nursing & the incredible stress. I'm like🤔🤔
@@juliet5413 Which hospital has the best residency program & decent pay?
She is right In California NiCu nurses make a lot more but the cost of living is is higher. I make 52.44 night shift new grad.
San Francisco or Los Angeles?
So as a new grad you went into a residency into a speciality? Did you have any previous experience in any other job like CNA or etc
Hi could you make a video on how you become a nicu nurse?
Yes! Thanks for watching 🤍
How long after you graduate did you become a nicu nurse? Or how much experience do you need to become one?
Black girl magic. Yes maam
💕✨
I’m Getting ready to go school well continue my education for NICU nurse. I do have a job do think it’s going to be hard to do both work and go school ?
Im in nursing school right now and I want to be a NICU nurse.
Have you thought about being a NICU nurse practitioner? I know you just started working but just a thought
Yes it’s definitely something I’ve thought about. I’m not exactly sure what I want to do but it’s definitely an option. Good luck in school 💕 and thanks for watching!
what is the one main difference between level 3 and level 4 nicu ..in your view. Besides surgery or iller babies
How often do you have admission assignment?
Also...do doctors have assistance to put in E.T. Tube or do Rns assist with that...and do you guys cut tape for the et tubes or u have pre cut tape?...
What’s your degree? Associate in RN or BSN?
thank youuuuu
Thank you for sharing. Do you have your BSN?
Yes! Thanks for watching 🤍
What state you work in makes a huge difference! I live in Cali and the numbers are way different
It does! Cali is super expensive. Half of my family lives there and I love it but the cost of living is so high. You do get paid more so I think it pretty much evens out
I’m assuming in the South the pay for RNs is lower! I’m an nurse aide and l make 24 dollars a hour ( day shift) The nurses in New Jersey make 46 bucks per hour. I know you explained this but Wow l pray you have great aides working under your supervision. You rock Sis!
Yes nurses in the south get paid lower because the cost of living is lower compared to places like California or New York.
I'd like to see this from different states. This is good money in some areas but not others. A friend working nightshift ICU started at $44/hr but average rent is 2k in her area so cost of living (CA). Meanwhile, hospitals are paying travel nurses bonkers money per hour instead of hiring local nurses.
If you don’t mind me asking .. what hospital do you work at? I’m moving to Atlanta after I pass my nclex. If you don’t feel safe or comfortable answering that’s fine I understand just thought I would ask
Can you please please please PLEASE tell me how many days you work a week?🥺🥺🥺‼️
Is there a difference in neonatal and nicu?
Smart move invest in yourself ❤️
how long did school take you to become a neonatal nurse practitioner?
I love this video so much ! Do you have an IG by any chance so I can Direct message you there for more questions and info ??🥺❣️❣️☺️
