Likely Canon is using the Olympics for any last minute firmware fixes and adjustments. Moreover, they probably want to ship the first few batches of R5 MK2 cameras that will out sell the R1 before the first shipments of R1 cameras.
I think a camera being a disappointment and pre orders being high aren’t connected at all. There’s a lot of people who shoot Canon and are not going to change. Those people want it right away, no matter what. They realize this is it. Nothing better is coming for years so they just buy it. The real tell is over the next year or so. Well, very high preorders also isn't an indicator of a poorly performing camera either... Tends to indicate otherwise, but the duration of the high sales is what matters.

I think it might be to get more into the skid for maximum profit. Apple is very good at this...
@@OrdinaryFilmmaker That and looking to be more eco friendly with less packaging
I don't believe companies care about the environment. As you say... looking to be more eco friendly. It's about reducing the materials to reduce cost.
@@OrdinaryFilmmaker completely agree
Froknowsphoto got one yesterday
Yeah, he's likely got a production unit and Canon wants to ensure channels like his get plenty of units to keep the buzz going.
Happy Birthday to you.. ENJOY..
Thanks so much
Hey Simon, wasn't there some ordinary guy getting the original R5 a week before official shipment 4 years ago ??
Yes. I was lucky. I reach out to Canon Canada. They said no guarantees. There's a chance, so fingers crossed. Canon Canada has a very limited supply and there are a lot of content creators up here.
@@OrdinaryFilmmaker you were lucky gaining a single week, but this guy (4 years later with much larger social media exposure) gaining even 3 weeks is much much more extreme luck, resulting in your justified reservations.
I sense your reply refers to both past and present tense, so I'm crossing my fingers for you (and indirectly your audience) 🙏
Guys I’m not entirely sure Ryan Renolds was really there.
Why can’t we get the R1 earlier, we basically have to wait until Christmas as it it 😢
Likely Canon is using the Olympics for any last minute firmware fixes and adjustments. Moreover, they probably want to ship the first few batches of R5 MK2 cameras that will out sell the R1 before the first shipments of R1 cameras.
Simon, what happened to CLOG-1? Is it not viable anymore?
I don’t have one but the box is 100% real
That's crazy making people wait 20 days for a camera.
Do I have my R5ii? (I'll tell you on the 20th.) What happened to Mark?! He is the best in the I.F. business!
Mark is busy with other things as we get ready for school. Ryan will stand in for him.
Maybe it was the kit, not just the camera
He provided several photos with it too.
time will tell
AS IF UFO HAS BEEN SPOTTED ......😂😂😂😂 PEOPLE HAVE BECOME CRAZY FOR NOTHING .....😂😂😂😂
Did you watch the video?
This would have been a great 2 minute video. That's why I don't really watch this channel, blah, blah blah
I think a camera being a disappointment and pre orders being high aren’t connected at all. There’s a lot of people who shoot Canon and are not going to change. Those people want it right away, no matter what. They realize this is it. Nothing better is coming for years so they just buy it. The real tell is over the next year or so. Does it maintain sales and does it win over buyers? Probably not. I know people who got Nikon cameras the next day because it was so disappointing. I bought a R6 M2 the next day for the same reason.
Well, very high preorders also isn't an indicator of a poorly performing camera either... Tends to indicate otherwise, but the duration of the high sales is what matters.
A disappointment for who, those that were never going to buy it regardless of the specs. Those are mostly the folks you are talking about. They spend more time telling everyone what Brand not to buy as opposed to actually taking pictures.
@@natureredux1957the northrups said it was disappointing. And the guy who bought the Nikon bought the Z8. Last I checked the Z8 was pretty much the same price. So who’s not able to afford it…….
@@Beaver-be8vk The Northups are more of a Clown show then a Reality show. So no, I don't count them as some great source. They made a large amount of money off of talking about Camera Gear, but most folks don't really think of them as true professionals.
