The PS5 can't handle this game at 1080p either. That's why there's no performance mode. Lowering the resolution doesn't affect the game when the problem is the CPU. They realized the game would never achieve 60 FPS on the consoles and just decided to make the game look as good as it could at 30 FPS.
They could probably get 55-60fps in the open world non-city areas by turning of RT, but the city areas are CPU bound, so turning off raytracing and lowering resolution (even to 480p) wouldn't make a difference. The CPUs in the current gen consoles are only Zen 2 based, and simply don't have the power to handle the NPC AI in cities. That's why they chose to turn on RT and keep the resolution looking as crisp as possible. I could have sworn they showed the game in cutscenes running at 60FPS in Playstation trailers. What happend between then and now? Why does it run so much worse? This trailer has the cutscenes running at 60FPS: ruclips.net/video/cT0rIgaiPWA/видео.html
And that was on the playstation channel! Also the xbox series x seems sharper? All your zoom ins show the opposite at 3:01 for example. I think the interlacing might be broken on Xbox they gotta fix it.
There's no interlacing in this game. It's not 2000 anymore
Yes, PS5 looks sharper. DF and ING said about that. Checkerboard rendering is broken for now on SX.
Your right, mistake in my commentary while editing late at night. PS5 is slightly sharper.
30 fps isnt a bad thing . Guys 120 fps is always on multiplayer . But in order to have a big game with sht goin on 30 fps is gonna be the only way. 4k rt isnt what i like but its still good visually. I wish we had 60 fps minimun. These graphics arent amazing. But get a pc and i promise u are gonna have issues
60fps is must in 2024!
This isnt the ps3/ps4 era anymore
lol nah, 30 FPS isn’t the “only way” if it’s a big game. Elden Ring and Ghost of Tsushima are both big games with an open world. They both run at 60. Stop excusing bs.
@@TheAilmam bro consoles for singleplayer games are hard to develop. U wanna play 1080? Well remember this. Most xbox and ps playerd have a 60 plus inch tv itll look terrible . My opinion is give us modes. But 30fps is okay. Zelda, starfield, spiderman, god of war. So many games are 30 and they are great
@@loitersquadXThese are next gen consoles, 60fps should be the minimum for gaming, I don't care about 4k 1080p is perfectly fine unless your a graphical whore. There's games like ghost of tsushima and horizon forbidden west that are significantly better with graphics and runs at a stable 60fps.
@@TheAilmam 60 FPS was a must back in 2010 fool. Consoles were never able to maintain 60 FPS simply because they are already outdated hardware by the time they release, so two years down the line and they are entirely unable to maintain 60 FPS without severely compromising the quality. Add to that the fact the game is particularly demanding and these consoles don't have the power to brute force it to run, and you get this.
Correct me if I am wrong the Switch version of the Witcher and Doom run pretty well not the best looking games but are optimized well for that system. Then if that is the case why can't the do the same for current gen systems especially with rumors about the Ps5 pro.
Doom and witcher also look like shit and have horrible loading times on switch
Big mistake, PS5 version is sharper, look 3:09
according to digital foundry, ign, and elanalista, reconstruction pixel is bad on series + slightly better resolution+ draw distance+ shadows better on PS5
I believe he either swapped video or logos at 2:42 because there’s no way is his same video that if you zoom in, PS5 is sunddenly the shaper one (4:50 , 3:47, 3:30, 2:58)
Mistake in my commentary while even my video shows that PS5 is slightly sharper. Your right.
Why one earth would capcom not of implemented a 60fps mode with a lower resolution target !??
4k with rt looks great. Does need a quality, performance, and an rt mode tho.
Rt be the original mode, quality is 4k with not Rt, performance be a dynamics 4k with 60 fps.
An uncapped fps option should be available as well. Id take 4k30 with uncapped with no Rt and a study 40 fps.
Yeah the Ray Tracing is honestly really well implemented. So glad they went with RT Global Illumination instead of something more subtle like RT Reflections or RT Ambient Occlusion.
CPU bottleneck? still expect the PS5 Pro to run DD2 acceptable.., while the PS5 / XSX framerate are unacceptable
do u need to have vrr tv to get above 30fps
You need to have your eyes checked, ps5 looks definitively sharper here due to working checkerboard while there’s issue on the seiresX.
Aver amigo se llama optimizacion no mejor el día que utilicen las api de series x veremos
Mistake in my commentary while even my video shows that PS5 is slightly sharper. Your right.
For all with a 40 Series Card you NEED the dlss3 mod it enables frame Generation i now have consistent 60-90 fps IN City
i dont even have to turn on frame gen to get easliy over 100fps
Just lowering the resolution to 2k and enabling VRR support for the PS5 would do wonders for the performance of this game.
Lowering the res won’t do anything.
The game does support VRR on PS5
@@TheBean87Trashbox has no games 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@MichaelM28It does? I read somewhere that the xbox version looks smoother because it has vrr support system wide, while de ps5 it does not since it doenst reach 48fps
@@xDagoz that’s correct ps5 vrr starts at 48 fps rendering it useless for this game.
What TV do you have please? My PS5 runs the game so bad.....Unplayable Do I need VRR capable TV? Mine does not have it.

Fps better, but graphics and quality better on ps5.
Who cares, enjoy what you like
@@МухаммедАли-б7д Fps better in xbox séries x.
Now let see Paul Allen's PS5 PRO
heads up to ANY xbox series x owners ... delete all your other games except dragons dogma 2 . . make sure you have over 700gb of free space . . . and youll get super high frame rates compared to before . . the xbox series x uses tech called velocity architecture ... it uses free hd space as virtual ram . .thats why they gave the dev kits 80gigs of ram . . .because of the velocity architecture . . i promise you you will thank me later :)
i believe in your comparison, only... a serious work here
Exactly why I didn’t buy if I want to play 30 I’ll go back to the Batman games or bloodborne games that I know are good at 30 not this laggy frame dropping pos game
Just find another game to play 30 fps is unacceptable
I have PS5 and XSX but I think I’ll choose PS5 because the new XSX is just going to be like a “slim” edition with the same performance and Pete said they won’t be making a pro style console.
But when PS5 pro comes out it’ll probably get in to the high 40s which will activate VRR.
But I think I missed something, did you say you can’t test XSS because you only have an XSX edition?
If you buy physical you can’t just buy an X|S version?
True but the new xbox is rumored for next year and could possibly be much stronger. Lol
Idk what you're trying to say but XSS is a online console, no disk tray
@@johnjohn3668 I haven’t bought a physical copy for years but the last time I did it came with a code and the whole game downloaded even though it was physical.
You need the disk as that’s what the licence is, which the series s can’t read as it does have a disk drive.
@@autoscopy I guess anything’s possible but Phil Spencer said specifically that there will be no mid-Gen 1X style update. Just the new cylinder-shaped XSX that will use less power but have the exactly the same processing power.
If they change their mind and do a pro console I’ll buy it but they seem pretty clear on it right now.
So by this test ps5 cpu performance is better and xbox gpu is better
Xbox has better frame rate and VRR support that actually works.
Digital Foundry said the same.
What about 1440p on ps5?
This game looks great. I would love to be able to play it.
The game is great! You would love it.

This "optimization" is a joke. I am no longer consider 30 FPS game as AAA. Because its like going back 10 years.
Yeah I’m playing on ps5 and it runs pretty good. Really enjoying it
The graphics are mid and the performance is terrible for a current gen game. They should have either locked it to 30fps or dropped the resolution to dynamic 1440p to allow for 60fps.
Dropping the resolution makes no difference when the CPU can't keep up. It doesn't matter if the GPU can render lower resolutions faster, it still needs to wait for the CPU. That's why there's no performance mode, it would still run the same way. They obviously decided that if that was the best they could get they might as well make sure the resolution looks crispy and the graphics are as high as possible.
It’s because of the RT, dropping res would do nothing to help.
Still better than starflop
@@MichaelM28 you mean spiderbug 2 right?
Remember elden ring runs better with less budget for making the game
with ray tracing off the graphics are identical to 1 and it still doesnt run 60 lol
This Games is bad an all platforms.
An equal CPU to PS5 gains the same FPS or is a bit better.
The game doesn’t run like this on my ps5 and my screen doesn’t support 4K is that why it runs worse?
It's just garbage. I'm playing on a 4k and it is for me too.
30fps in next gen💩
Truly the Optimized Game of All Time 💀
I didn’t even know it went up to 40+ I thought max was 33
Who remembers in 2020 on the box 4K 120 😂😂😂
I'm playing it on my Series x and the fps really isn't that bad.
?????????????????????
no fps mode?
Nope, and no way to turn off raytracing or motion blur yet - devs said today it's coming in an update.
Even at 30 fps this game feels crazy good, just imagine if it could run 60 fps. It would be unreal.
Thats bs..
Digital foundry already stated that dragons dogma fps in better even on the Xbox series S than ps5.
Ha-ha, BS is your commentary. DF also said that PS5 is better in city when it comes to CPU, and SX is better when it comes to GPU. SS is not better than PS5.
Ps5 💩 Xbox series X 💩 same 💩
Thanks for the analysis, saw lots of DD fans defending this mess of a game but it really is terrible, may as well be running on the Switch the way it performs. 25 - 45fps unlocked on a PS5 in 2024?? 😂
Remember what was wrote on the box? 4k 120fps 🤡
LOL
CONSOLES AND PCS HANDLE CODE DIFFERENTLY. DO NOT COMPARE THEM AND SAY FIXING SOMETHING ON PC CAN FIX PS5
It has nothing to do with 2024 or 2934. There will always be 30 fps games
I would imagine this isn't even playable on Series S....just a hunch. lmao
I liked the game but I think it is not optimized enough, on ps5
So you are telling that SX looks sharper when DF, NXG from IGN and Analista said PS5 it was the one which looked sharper? Bruh just have a look at 2:57 and 3:09 🤦♂️

I think there are some rumours/leaks about that and a possible portable console too.
This game is a joke. Can't believe reviewers rated this at an average of 87 on Metacritic. Do those streamers and reviewers get paid?
What's the problem besides the bad performance?
Thanks to the fake 4k of one console and the other does not reach better fps rates, these consoles are made for 2k or 1080p but the stupidity of putting 4k on these consoles is crazy and the 30fps is not good, today I still say that there should already be consoles that run 4k and at least 40 or 50 fps, it is time that there are finally consoles with good power or at least with their Unlocked fps although Xbox series x has good power there are games that are very poorly optimized and their fps drops far below Because another thing I don't understand is why there are games that are performing better on PS5 when the Xbox is more powerful, which makes me see that the developers don't want to optimize for the XBox series X And they are taking PS5 as a base or is the graphic engine an M? Anyway, this is not good at all.
