    Lovely Video, explained clearly. It would be nice to make a video on designing patterns. I find that I color in my dots, however, it always turns out terribly. I now math is involved and I think I get that part, my issues is drawing it on the graph paper. I'm not sure how to make it cylinder when graphing on a flat piece of paper.

    I realize that this video was done a few years ago, not sure you are still answering questions. I have a question on your pattern. You've drawn it out starting on the bottom left corner, yet when you bead, your beading clockwise,??? I know when drawing my pattern for 2 drop peyote, I started on the right corner drawing my pattern and beading clockwise. Just want to make sure I do this correctly. Thank you

      Thank you for watching. For this stitch, I wanted it to look the same as on the drawing. If your notice the peak of the beads should look the same as on the paper. The graph is counter clock wise, but I start on the right for drawing because this helps me to see how the design will look. It is a starting point. I suppose you could try on the left side too. This is how I've figured out. Thanks once again

    • @brokenarrowbeads3354

      It is very important to keep count when starting the beads. The beads are grouped in 3 so you should be adding 18 beads in the round. on the 18 bead will be the last bead. the next section is the bridge and then you start the count again for the next row. I did an earlier video of how to begin this stitch. have a look and see if the helps. thank you for watching.

      Alexi Hansen Hi. I’m so happy for you. Thank you for watching my video. I’m happy to share my work and the stuff I have learned.
      To answer your question about where I get my beads. I order Czech seed beads. Make sure it is Czech these are good quality and uniform. You may get the odd one that is funny shaped but that is normal. I also just starting buying Delica beads. These are more cylindrical and uniform. I also sell them too. I have limited supplies check on Facebook and look for Broken Arrow Beads. There are also groups on Facebook that have really good links to bead stores in Canada and the US. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching. :)

    • @brokenarrowbeads3354
      @brokenarrowbeads3354  Год назад +1

      Hi. Thank you for your question. I wrap the thread around to give me a good secure attachment when starting the lighter. This helps me to keep the Beads from slipping around when I am beginning my first rows. When I am finished, I'll go back and rethread that bit of string and weave it back through my work. I make sure that I have it long enough to do this.

    • @brokenarrowbeads3354
      @brokenarrowbeads3354  4 года назад +2

      Hi Carrie I first of all wrap the beads around a regular size bic lighter. That should be 54. Then you remove 18. Now there should be 36 left. 36 is the starting row.

I made the beaded lighter cover right along with you in the video looks nice but I don't know where I went wrong after I finished making it I removed the lighter and now I can't get the lighter back in it. bev dowdy Hi there. You have done nothing wrong. When it is beaded around the lighter it is nice and tight. But when it is removed it will take some negotiation to put it back on. I was demonstrating this to someone that I sold the lighter and case too, I was able eventually put it back on, but it was tough.

    I enjoy your video. One suggestion would be to have music playing in the background, so we don't think the sound has gone out. OH, by the way, the 'bridge' bead you refer to is commonly called the 'step up' bead because you are stepping up to the next row of the pattern.

    • @brokenarrowbeads3354
      @brokenarrowbeads3354  6 лет назад +2

      Thank you. I was never sure of what that “step up” was called. But when I figured it out my patterns went more smoothly. As for the music in the background I would like to have some but was/am worried about copyright stuff. Normally when I’m beading I do have something on in the background. Again thank you. 😀

    • @brokenarrowbeads3354
      @brokenarrowbeads3354  Год назад

      Hi there. To figure the first count, you need to string some beads, and wrap it around the lighter, make sure the number is divisible by 3. This can be done with any size beads. The smaller the beads, the larger the number.
