A trick I learned growing up - any number will be divisible by 3 if the numbers in it also add up to another number that’s divisible by 3! So 54 ~ 5+4 = 9 which is 3x3! An easy trick to know you’re on the right track. Thank you for this!
This tutorial is an excellent lesson for beginners. The 3-drop stitch is clearly explained and demonstrated. As well, the teacher's voice is calm and soothing. Thank you for this!
Thank you so much. This is the best tutorial I have found on this art form. Your calm voice and close-up of what you're doing is just the explanation I needed.
My uncle taught me this but a 2 drop method he's left handed and I did it but I'm so happy to learn from somebody right handed I fought with my old teachings and am very happy I can do this type of beadwork thanks again
Excellent tutorial! One of the best I've seen out there. My mantra has always been " pick up a bead, skip over a bead, go through a bead"! LOL You demonstrate that beautifully.
I just wanted to thank you for sharing your knowledge. I didn't give up & kept trying. I pulled it out 3 times but magically it started taking shape! I've been teaching myself everything I can to reconnect and hopefully pass on to my grandchildren. Chi Miigwech your AWESOME!!!!❤😊
I really appreciate your videos. So many Thing's you can do and make with seed beads and so many beautiful patterns and so many different colors to match with different patterns as well. Thank You Broken Arrow Beads I love your Beading Work ma'am 👋🤗💖😃👍
Thank you so much for posting this video. I only knew how to 2 drop, but I've been wanting to learn 3drop for a while. All the videos on RUclips don't really show a clear way of 3drop step
Thank you so very much for doing this video. I have struggled with this stitch and with the aid of your video and your patience in explaining, I have now mastered this stitch. You are truly wonderful and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love beading. Thank you Thank you Thank you...
Really appreciate your videos. Feels like sitting down with my grandma when we used to craft when I was a kid. Thanks to your tutorials I have beaded 3 fan handles. Getting better at making patterns. Still learning in all these ways. Appreciate your care, God bless you and all you hold dear. Making a medicine container now.
Thank you for sharing!!! You use the deer skin cover which makes the lighter thicker and requires more coverage. When making this without an additional cover the bead count won't be the same as yours. Do you recommend adding extra beads to make sure it's divided by 3?
This is a great question. I am not an expert at the different stitches and there is a lot of discussions about what stitch is what. I'll try to explain from I what I know about the difference. With three drop stitch, the beads are in columns of , when you add a bead it will "drop" into the 3rd spot. With peyote stitch you go through a Bead then add a Bead. There are a lot of resources on Google that can help with answering your question and some debate regarding the terminology too. Thank you for watching.
Hi carleen. What happens when you go around the first time? The first row will actually be the third row if that makes sense. The reason for that is because, first, you must take an amount of Beads, that fit the circumference of the lighter. That amount must be able to divide by 3. Then remove the 1/3 of. Re wrap the remaining 2/3. This amount will not completely go around, this is where you will begin to add the remaining 1/3 that you saved. As you keep going around by every 3rd one it will begin to fit. If this is your first time allow yourself to practice. You'll get this. Keep practicing :
It took me a while to figure this out too. You may have missed the bridge and kept going a round. Very important to do the bridge. Also sometimes an extra Bead may have been added. Took me a few times to get it going. Thank you for watching
@@brokenarrowbeads3354 I finally figured out I need to count the beads I need for each row, and then I know where the bridge is when they're all added. Complicated.

Wow! Thank you for making this video. It's perfect for a beginner who wants to learn 3 drop peyote.

So my question..... what is the best way to make a pattern? Since the beads kind of spiral
There is 3 drop graph paper pattern paper available online. It's a little tricky learning to create and follow but just keep at it.
So how does this differ from odd count peyote stitch?
This stitch is in groupings of three. And the beads cascade along each other.
Alguien me puede explicar la regla? Tengo una circunferencia que mide 71 mostacillas
This is an excellent tutorial! A question ... Does the "bridge" happen on every row or just the first row?
Hi there. The bridge happens on every row. Thank you for the kind words.
@@brokenarrowbeads3354 Ah haaa! Now I understand why my work is slightly wonky. Thank you so much!
I'm doing something wrong here! My first row keeps coming up short.
