I'd recommend a tether if you have an alarm one too. I'll often forget, mount the bike, the lock becomes nudged and I'll have 5 seconds to run off and find the lock's keys and race back. I never get there in time. Also, potential thieves can muffle the alarm by putting their fingers over the right spot, so there's that to know as well. But it's small and fits into your bag so I'd recommend getting one if you leave it on the roadside or parking lot anyway. Any bike can be stolen, but having a disk lock makes it that much harder for them to get away with it.
+Gaff Yeah exactly, if someone's determined enough to steal a bike, there's not much really that's going to stop them. Definitely helps as a deterrent though. Agreed on tether, a good reminder for those that need it!
Maybe I'm missing a trick here, but I bought one of these today, and you have to take it to pieces to insert the battery. Now, while you are putting it back together, it's going off continually. Finally, after nearly pulling my hair out, I thought of downloading the app. Now, when you do that, you can turn it off!!!!! No instructions in English, but using the app is the only way I found of installing the battery and keeping both my hearing and my sanity....
Good evening ⚠️ I am in the welding metallurgy and I grew up with grinders of all categories and my advice is to buy a disc lock according to the thickness of your disc, which means leaving no gap between the disc and the lock then it is best to close it in one of the deepest holes because with a grinder it is very easy to cut even stainless steel unless there is no space for the grinder disc to go between the two it will make the cut a bit difficult which means a few more minutes
Very informative vid, thanks man. Ordering one right now to go on my front brake. (have a Stockton disc alarm on the rear rotor. Decent and super sensitive but it is loud lol)
I also got one for my KTM that doesn't have a key to start it. Just jump on hit the start button and go. Kinda worry sum when you park it at the grocery store. This lock gave me a piece of mind.
I was an advocate for Xena until I just now needed a replacement key for my XX15 lock. I am down to my laste key. I lost the first one, then broke the second one trying to straigten it out after it got bent. They use a VERY BRITTLE metal for those keys. They will snap very easily. If your key is bent, leave it alone. So anyway, I reached out to them over the past few days and NEVER got a response. I reached out to them on Facebook as well. Someone responded and promised to look into it and never did. Given that I am down to one key, I am just not longer comfortable using this lock. I will get something else.
Has anyone had recent experience with a Xena disc alarm? Specifically the Bluetooth version, which doesn't seem to be available (in-store) in Australia. The competitive advantage of Bluetooth is appealing with the sensitivity, volume, alarm delay and alarm length control which would be super handy to make sure it's operating properly. Also keen to hear results on the non-bluetooth version which is available for about half the price and in multiple versions at Bikebiz in Aus.
Yeah I've had coworkers sit on mine w/ the alarm on it and set it off to be surprised and caught off guard by it, haha. I've also had coworkers sit on it and be super gently and not make it go off... so long as they're not tipping the bike over, I'm good, haha
Great video just one thing to add is with the lock open before install remove the key then you can just put it on the rotor amd push the lock closed no key required to lock it.
doing my research to see if i want to get this. I'm a bit worried about that whole going off by itself situation. Noise is a very huge thing here in Sweden - what was that thing you mentioned about sunlight triggering the alarm? If it's overly sensitive - it might be a deal breaker for me :(
you don't want to put your disk lock on your front wheel; it's too easy to take your front wheel off, and replace it with a new front wheel. And, how do you change the battery in that thing?
Would you recommend getting one without the alarm and making sure to get the cable/tether as a reminder? Or was the alarm an important feature to you? Thinking about getting one but there are so many to choose from! Appreciate the detail in the video!
+Kim Herrera (drvnkymonk) I'd recommend with an alarm, as its extra security. Thieves don't like attention on them, so if there's a 120dB alarm going off putting eyes on them, all the more reason to get the one with alarm :)
Thank you! I got it off Amazon, and the quality is ok. Fitment required a little customization as it wasn't perfectly centered, but not really noticeable.
+SpektrOhm Totally thought about doing that, would be perfect, haha! Just have to get a "deuces" logo designed for the back, I'll try to knock that out this upcoming week :)
maybe a stupid question but if it arms it self when u lock it doesn't it go off on u when you lock it to to get locking mech. closed to store while riding?
+Two Over Four Uploads are scheduled for 4, haha. Always put them up early so those that are subscribed have a video ready and waiting for when they wake up :)
I don't have That disk lock I have another When I have the lock pointing upwards, the sound from the alarm is significantly louder as opposed to it being pointed to the side.Or down
It should be placed on the rear disc. Although more difficult to get to it will be worth it. Two guys to steal your bike with locked bars and that lock on the front disc. The rear of the bike is far heavier than the front to lift off the ground. Some POS got my neighbors bike the other day and they tried mine with only my bars locked. The way I had it parked gave them no leverage thank God. I feel so violated.
Just be careful when taking off the back plate cause the sensor is really sensitive and the alarm will not stop going off till the back plate is back on.
I saw your face (okay, your eye) in the label that was peeling away. Is that your face reveal? it was ahead of the 25K sub level, too. Haha! On my way to Amazon now...
google a bit further; PLENTY of false alarms, even when not fitted on the disk/bike (!!) , up to the point where people just remove the battery... 😞 Oh yes; no use contacting Xena for warranty; they do NOT respond 😞
Oh I know I paid 400 to have the security system added before they even delivered the bike cause it wasn't standard on the bike and since then I bought the alarm that goes with the bike cover, and just ordered the xena xx15 about 30 minutes ago on amazon I want to discourage as many theives as possible, but locks only keep honest people honest
amazing if people take biggest disc lock and thinking that safetiest too 😂😂 yo can take it twice, ten.. time bigger too and same safety like XX6 while your weakest part is disc brake self, brake system be lightweight /filigree what did XX15 with 800gr disc lock helps more then xx6 400gr disc lock, the locking pin is everytime stronger then every brake disc. onyl ldiots wear more weight and bigger size (dumb 4wear) 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Killer vid Mr. Blockhead! Many thanks for the props, XX15 is a great choice for your Iron 883. Happy trails!
Thanks XENASecurity!
Can you explain the Bluetooth connectivity please? The link on your website is not working.
XenaSecurity, why don't you respond to emails about product support?
@@TheShotokan6 they don't respond to RUclips comments either😂
Rear brake -- Is there some reason you couldn't just flip the lock over, with the keyhole to the left?

Yeah we had rash of bikes stolen for a Lake in Ohio, they had van with hoist go up to the bikes and hoist them in in broad daylight and be gone.

Cut and paste much? lol. Saw same comment on another disc lock vid
I almost grabbed this model. I ended up grabbing an X2 instead.
always a good prevention to have!

Getting my first Harley tomorrow definitely getting this 😁

Agreed. They're a pain in the azz!
Lock it or lose it sir.

Ordered mine today. Thank you for the review.
Thanks for putting this together and sharing it.
I bought my disc lock alarm before I got my bike, safety measure at first but also from coworkers who doesn't ask permission to sit on my ride.
Oh hell na
Yeah I've had coworkers sit on mine w/ the alarm on it and set it off to be surprised and caught off guard by it, haha. I've also had coworkers sit on it and be super gently and not make it go off... so long as they're not tipping the bike over, I'm good, haha

How come the alarm doesn't arm in your hand?
doing my research to see if i want to get this.
I purchased the locking cable ogfered by Zena. I lock my helmet with the cable so no chance of forgetting that the lock is in place.
Do you have the opportunity to set the move sensor? Sensitivity?
How do you charge the device ? Does the alarm works well if you do not put on your disc but maybe in a booth in your bike ?
Was thinking bout getting this.
Would you recommend getting one without the alarm and making sure to get the cable/tether as a reminder? Or was the alarm an important feature to you? Thinking about getting one but there are so many to choose from! Appreciate the detail in the video!

Very nice Lock and awesome video.
Great review by the way!
+wpolkjr Thanks!
does it notify you when the alarm goes off?
What's the lock size you are using on your sportster?????
Nice bike 👍where did you get your chin spoiler and is it gd quality?
Thank you! I got it off Amazon, and the quality is ok. Fitment required a little customization as it wasn't perfectly centered, but not really noticeable.
doesnt you harley have a alarm and steering lock ?
+ALHD 48 Steering lock yes, but not built in alarm. You can have an alarm installed on it, but that's later down the road maybe
Really. My 48 has an alarm from hd. I thought it was factory
I think irons come with alarm factory 2015 and up, this is a 2013 not sure when it came with alarm stock but was after 2013
Alarm stock in a 2012 48
on the shirt design ideas.. it would be hilarious if you put "douces" on the back of all the shirts.
No, it has a sensor that knows when it's on the disc that causes it to arm.
Thanks 🙏
Target lock makes one to withc is very good its about 30$ and has never set its self off
Bought one a few days ago...havent had a false alarm yet...🙌🏽🙌🏽
what about now?
Or now? Lol.
How about now?
How about now?
maybe now..?
Why do you always upload so early in the morning? I'm pretty sure it's around 4am every upload
+Two Over Four Uploads are scheduled for 4, haha. Always put them up early so those that are subscribed have a video ready and waiting for when they wake up :)
I bought one when I Traveling i put it in my backpack the alarm goes off how do I completely turn off the alarm
I don't have That disk lock I have another When I have the lock pointing upwards, the sound from the alarm is significantly louder as opposed to it being pointed to the side.Or down
I keep hearing the Bluetooth features including alarm on this just stop working almost immediately.. Is this true?
Where can avail that kind of lock?
It should be placed on the rear disc. Although more difficult to get to it will be worth it. Two guys to steal your bike with locked bars and that lock on the front disc. The rear of the bike is far heavier than the front to lift off the ground. Some POS got my neighbors bike the other day and they tried mine with only my bars locked. How can the owner of the bike by mistake broke? coz if he sit on his own bike then Alarm activate and he knows about the lock.
So what is the benefit of the Bluetooth?
configuring sensitivity and loudness, checking battery level.
just got me one !
Nice!
What happen to lefty lossey
Just turn the lock to you on the back .... :)
What lock?
Use an Energizer Lithium battery for this alarm lock.
I wonder why it makes the sound for 10 sec only
Xeno is not enough because if thiefs has a circular saw then he can cut through so maybe extra alarm and GPS tracker
Thank you.
It's like everywhere I go.... There you are looool.
I saw your face (okay, your eye) in the label that was peeling away. Is that your face reveal? it was ahead of the 25K sub level, too. Haha! On my way to Amazon now...
my disc doesn't have holes so does it still work?
MidasZ no
Lmao. I know exactly where you filmed that at. I work there.
740 gms wish had a place on a sports bike to lock onto when carrying...with no alarm!
My bike gose in the living room since i live in a ground floor apartment
google a bit further; PLENTY of false alarms, even when not fitted on the disk/bike (!!) , up to the point where people just remove the battery... 😞
Oh yes; no use contacting Xena for warranty; they do NOT respond 😞
