@@077di6 Trust me, I had one and to be honest I found it hard to play, and it didn't sound as good as much other PRS! If you want something cheaper, you can look for a PRS SE guitar. What style of music do you want to play on it?
Besides Isaiah's orgasmic performance, I think it's awsome how the backsingers seem to be having the time of their lives there. Overall I just love the chemistry on that stage :)
There is majesty in his playing. I teared up. I think it's just the fact that the world can forge a thing called life, and that humans created by it understand music. We've evolved to understand and enjoy it, and Sharkey just resonates that. All of the talent given to him by Earth, his clear disciplined work ethic, and our ability to somehow find meaning in all of the sound waves.

Isaiah is one of the best jazz players in the world. One of the reasons I want to get into jazz is to have a different take on my playing instead of playing straight blues scales. Those triads man goddamn. Isaiah is one of those players that can improvise in any key
Sharkey is probably the most under the radar soulful guitarist alive; he’s not flashy, not commercially popular by any means, but god damn can he play circles around a lot of people.
After watching this video for the umpteenth time I understand what a beautiful and powerful thing John has done with this song. Thank you so much, Isaiah you're a true inspiration
@@foxybrown2 he's definitely better in totality then John!!! He's multi dimensional.... You can come with they play different genre's etc etc but He can step in any lane and punish the top dogs in that genre contemporarily speaking.

@@fieldingmellish6856 I think many of the 'top' guitarist are extremely melodic in their playing and can play lines that fit perfectly in terms of their style of music, like John, but Isaiah is past john in technique, inventiveness and his ability to compliment as any sort of guitarist. He's an incredible rhythm guitarist and equally if not a better solo guitarist.
Amazing preformance. For you guys that love this song; check out his version of this one from Ziggo dome in 2014. Mayer does all of his solos himself there. Probably his most insane preformance.
They played this song when I saw Mayer's band in Portland, Oregon. A finer guitar solo I'm unlikely to hear in my lifetime. IMO, Isaiah Starkey is the guitarist every other guitarist should be measured against.
YOU RARLEY EVER HEAR A SQUEAKY CLEAN SOLO...I DONT KNOW THIS PLAYER BUT SUDDENLY IN MY AWESOME OPINION HE IS CERTAINLY ONE OF THE WORLDS GREAT ELECTRIC GUITARISTS.
I met him yesterday after a show with Cory Henry and the Revival. Had a small chat. He's a great dude, very modest. He's a fabulous guitarist. This clip is amazing.
Isaiah was using a helix floorboard for the longest time with John. Not sure what he’s using today in 2021 but it doesn’t matter because Isaiah always sounds like Isaiah no matter what he’s using.

Sharkey did like a 6 1/2 minute solo like this at the show in NJ a few weeks back. That was a crazy awesome show as I'm sure this one was. What was this shot on? The picture is super clear.
I think that’s the test of a true guitar player, honestly. If you can continue on one or two chords for minutes on end, without getting stuck in a box and repeating, you’ve absolutely killed the solo.
I so like performances like this concert and bluesy also. I think that JM should to be try to play and creating jazz music. However, in my opinion, sweet pop music its not Mayers way
Okay but, John, Pino, Steve, David and Isaiah! How good can a band be
Right
Let's not forget Larry Goldings on keys. A straight up beast!
Do u think they will ever tour as this group again because I want to see it so badly
seriously incredible
I watch this religiously once a week. Isaiah's solo is on another level.
What guitar model did he play?

You can tell the Dead have had such an impact on John as a musician. So glad he's matured and he's an even better player for it
When the PRS Super Eagle is brought out on stage, I know the the Jerry Garcia channeling is near.
Never cared for Garcia...don't like the Mayer Garcia I would have fallen asleep if weren't for Sharkey.
Nate Skula it is amazing!! It's just beyond words.
I never got the Dead and few have. Mayer clearly has been influenced by blues more than any other genre. He’s an amazing guitar player.
@@jasonpitts8395 but the dead are influenced by the blues too. That joy you can hear in his playing now...thats from the dead
I had the pleasure of standing directly in front of Sharkey the whole show in the first row. It was hard not to focus on him, it was amazing.
Wow!
That’s so awesome, I would’ve loved to have been there.

Are they supposed to stand there stoned face? They’re entertainers 🤡
I absolutely love John’s adoration for Sharkey at 4:40 😌

It’s def also this song in particular. The live on letterman version does it for me, but this versions is superb as well.
@dreadlockbanana Ok buddy we get it, you just did LSD for the first time
Isaiah Sharkey is somethin else man. What a gifted player.

Isaiah Sharkey is a MONSTER!! Very tasty solo indeed.
Shout to JM keeping live music alive. So few artists today have a live band to the pedigree that Mayer does.

Every good player can improvise in any key. But yeah, Isaiah is still incredible, technically and musically.
I felt every molecule in my body split during that incredible solo. I hope they come back together in Chicago or milwaukee

Wow great combo right there 👍 Isaiah showing some serious skills🤘...very cool solo man!! 🎸🎶🎶

This was one of my favorite parts of the show. And that guitar solo was so awesome.
Wow. I've watched this video many times already. Never gets old!
I wanna like this more than once. I just keep coming back to this...
When John Mayer does a stank face on somebody’s else playing you know it’s good lol
great guitarists love hearing good solid guitar work.

Thank you so much hands down my favorite moment of the show also thank you for documenting Johns funny reactions to isahahs solo!!
Isaiah Sharkey gets much credit for his nearly 5 minute long tasteful guitar solo, and John too for giving the opportunity.
This was the best song there that night. So happy to find it here!
So nice...can't wait to see John in Pittsburgh this July!!!
Thats brutal! Sweet, sexy and soulful guitar playing!!!
OMG> he did this at the concert I went to (8/23) as well... It was 15 min of pure heaven. And Sharkey was magical.

I love when they both react to the bad note by Isaiah at 5:02, hey, it happens to the best of us. Isaiah is outstanding. Fantastic solo.

John's face is a barometer for Isaiah's ridiculous ability on the guitar. Rewind 10 sec each time he makes the " O face"
Yes. I believe the medical term is "stankface" as quoted from the 1878 New England Journey of Medicine.

Omg when you realize John has d'angelo's musicians playing with him
John is a huge D’Angelo fan tbh
feeling a little Dead and Company on this one....
You know your band is good when John Mayer is the second best guitarist.
Mayer easily has him beat on pure feel and tastefulness.
How many amps do you need damn.
who's going to do the tabs for the solo then?

what is that playing @5:44-5:58 called?
I hear a lot of it in neo soul. Check out Melanie Faye

It was super impressive, but lacked melody I guess? For me anyway the solos that hit hardest are melodic, like most of John's

too many notes, not enough feels

That's kind of interesting comment because part of this song is about getting older.
