If the Sauna is a carrier, then you’re correct
Russia our fleet is hopelessly outdated. It might as well be a hotel.
Tru dat. Big gunz jus whakas wi'out da dakkas.
@@MichaelRei99 Amongst the Russian Navy’s major fleet assets, you can only be referring to the “Admiral Kuznetsov” aircraft carrier here, plus the Slava-class cruisers, in addition to the Udaloy-class and the Sovremennyy-class destroyers -- but you would only be correct about the “Admiral Kuznetsov”. The remaining assets, including the Kirov-class battlecruisers, are all being progressively upgraded, whilst there are many other classes from frigate down (their new types of submarine notwithstanding) that the Russian Navy has recently introduced or shall continue to introduce in the coming years. Some of types have been extensively updated and are in every way the match of their Western counterparts. In key capabilities, such as their anti-air area and point defence systems as well as in terms of their electronic warfare and countermeasures suites, they even potentially excel Western capabilities, with the possible exception of the Type 45 Daring-class. Moreover, once Russian manufacturing capabilities have been restored as part of this process (they’ve had some difficulties obtaining components from Ukraine...for some reason), they will then continue with the modernisation refit programme for their older -- but still viable -- naval assets (those dating from the mid-1980s, for example) whilst simultaneously introducing new types. You hopelessly underrate the state of the Russian military these days; they are much closer to Western capabilities than you realise, and like I said, it is possible that they are superior in certain respects.
@@feliscorax in other words, Russia is updating a horribly stagnant and dilapidated fleet? It's numbers put it past most navies, but it is far outclassed by the US and even Chinese navy. It has very little capability in terms of power projection. All of that hardware is sitting there rusting near russian waters without an auxillary fleet. In that aspect even the Royal Navy outclasses it. Not only this, but the brain drain from the collapse of the soviet union has left the fleet in a bygone age. On a doctrinal level it cannot hold up to western navies, even if it does have a size advantage.

Yea but your gonna get overwhelmed by missles from air sea and underwater having many misskes is nice but if you can't target them then your kinda fucked all it takes is a super carrier and a ohio class "not a expert just going based off of common logic"
@@a1marine105 "missiles from sea and underwater" torpedoes, they're called torpedoes
@@a1marine105 that's not how it works, you can't just say it'll get overwhelmed by missiles from everywhere. Ships don't operate alone, no military force does. That's why you can't just say something is better than something else, they're all designed to work as a cohesive unit and support each other
@@a1marine105 If you're talking about a swarm of American missiles from American planes... well, something like that won't happen.
Kirov's anti-ship missiles have a range of over 1000 kilometers and fly close to hyperspeed. The US carrier strike group has an operational range of less than 1000 kilometers and can attack Kirov with either Tomahawk from ships or with Harpoon from F/A-18, and both missiles are subsonic or very, very, very ... very easy prey for Kirov's air defense. In addition, the F/A-18 must approach less than 150 kilometers from Kirov to launch Harpoon, which is well within Kirov's air defenses.
I really don't understand how you imagine Kirov coming to such a position to be attacked by a swarm of planes, in the style of the Pacific theater in the Second World War?
@@jerromedrakejr9332 cough* having range can't do anything for you if your target gets to close also both countries having Somthing up their hands is hard to debate so don't overestimate the kirov to much cause I can't easily go down like the Titanic same with american ships also both have decent missles so on the end it would be more of who can deliver the first hit also the us has the standard missle class missles meaning they can detect and shoot down incoming missles sooooo ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
