- How to Vinyl Wrap Your Hood With Zero Experience (3M 2080 Series Gloss Black) | Boosted John
I have never vinyl wrapped anything before today! My 2008 Honda Civic is a car that is extremely prone to clear coat failure. My hood looked like a weber grill that had been sitting outside for 10 summers lol. Today I attempted to vinyl wrap my hood having never wrapped anything before and it actually turned out so much better than expected. This video will provide massive value to you if you are trying this for the first time.
If you are one of my Brothers in Boost, thanks for watching. The Boost Bunker has been awesome so far and the next project that I'm about to take on is going to blow your minds. I can't wait.

"since slicing bread" mans got me crying rn now , i love the humbleness about you i know you going to go places we could be friends haha nice video btw now i can start wrapping my 2 doort coupe si
Always a good day with a Boosted John upload. Proud of you for stepping out and going full time, I'm hoping to do the same here soon!
This looks so good and definitely makes me want to wrap my SI. Great job!
Most people have problems because they get thick wrap and it dont work like thinner wrap so you did good there. Like others have said use some heat and it will work even better but overall looks great for your first time.
Pretty good job for yourself man! Looking forward to seeing what’s next
Awesome job brotha looks great …. Awesome vid like always

"Was that an airbubble?"
Funniest thing I heard cracked me the HELL UP
Man I'm happy to see this video. I have a few spots on my fg2 si that need work asap. The primer is fine but paint has even chipped off and a bunch of clear has came off. So I need to wrap my whole car. Think imma start with my trunk since it's the worst and keep working at it till I feel more comfortable to do hood fenders and the rest the car. Keep these video's coming bro.
Thanks man
I did the same thing on my 06 coupe with one slight difference. I used the dry carbon fiber 3m with the air release technology. It wasn't hard, but it was a PITA. Anyway. I think it was well worth the effort and money spent.
Just picked up another subscriber! Keep going. Now I want to find myself a 1995 Honda civic Hatchback to play with.
Good call on using the primer before laying down the wrap!
Thanks for the vid buddy
Thanks ... seems to like it has to be done by several people and the best thing to do is to work from the center outwards
Did this about a month ago loved the look then my car got hit while parked. Great start to down bad December for me and my civic
do the whole car!
Great job! Soapy water can help you reduce the air bubbles that are created!
Damn this looks easy though that im thinking about doing it on my mothers Kia looks nice 👍
It looks great! Nice job! LY ❤
Thanks mom! LY
Yo, you should check out Paradox the wrapper. He could give you some good tips
He also sells some really nice and crazy wraps
Looks good man keep up the great work 👍
wrapped my girlfriends hood on her 8th gen. slow and steady wins the race with that stuff. also heat gun lmao
Your problem was no heat gun for a pre- stretch. That way when you lay it down, hit it with heat, and it shrinks the wrap. Heat also brings the wrap back after it's over stretched, and locks in the edges.
great job, but heat gun is your best friend. Warm up the spots that have the creases/small bubbles and you won't have to pull it up as much as you did.
Bae!!!!❤❤❤❤
Towkey
How do you like the 8th gen? I might be trading my turbo eg for one this week to more suit my daily driver needs
8th gen is the best bang for your buck enthusiast car in my opinion.
@@boosted_john I've been nervous doing the trade. I got my eg completely stock and over 2 years did all the suspension, turboing it, interior stuff. But the 8th gen just seems like it will be the better daily lol. Thanks for the input
I dont think you heated it enough. It would have helped you get out the wrinkles in the corners. Nonetheless it looks great
Is it really a Honda if there isn't clear coat failure? Lmao
Is a coupe civic si good ?
It's the best. The 4 door 8th gen has more aftermarket body kits and such do to most liking the look more then the 2 door. But the fg2 two door I believe is lighter weight and prolly handles better. Ibhave the 2 door and absolutely love it. Has a jdm k24a swap and it's a animal on the street.
It's an extremely good car for the money.
Awesome car I love my 8th gen si
Is he a noob?
Or just a dude?
In his garage
Alcohol massage
A might stretch, no fingerprint
The result is mighty mint
😁
Epic poem haha
This was not the move imo just a cheap bandaid. you could have just sanded it properly. Then clear coated the hood yourself with clearcoat in a can.
No offensive. But automotion is
🗑️.
