void bubbles with air release vinyl . Easiest vinyl to use Cutting install time in half
Thanks for the help youtube dad !
cool man....awesome job..
I feel like this is harder than it looks
Tried wrapping my hood got half way done and the vinyl ripped guess it was a little to cold lol. I said screw it. It's not happening
How do you go about with the sun roof?
Looks simple, the problem I have is how to work around the sunroof!
Just remove the switches for the sunroof! Easy fix!
So Cal Hispanic open the sunroof and cut 1/2 inside of opening all around and tuck it in
I greatly respect the fact that u let a beginner wrap with u on the channel
Shows a lot about your personality and it does help other beginners
Damn I spent hours on the roof with vivid. The fact Avery is pressure sensitive I should have started with Avery first.
I would also advise you guys to spray just some water on the top of film once it is laid so that when you squeegee the vinyl, you know where you have done it and where you have not and it also prevents to scratch any gloss black or satin black film. I have particularly noticed these mistakes in high end shops as well
I have had 99% success doing this so would request you to try this method out
Ohh so that’s what the soapy water is for. Thank you for the tip.
Your videos are awesome dude. Never knew what car wrapping was until my cousin contacted me about a month ago asking if I want to work for him. So far has been a trial and error but you are a savior.
If anyone is watching this and thinking about using Vivvid, be warned! Vivvid will not pull tight and smooth like the Avery in this video! Get the Avery and do it stress-free the first time.
Maybe vivvid is a good product for other applications (smaller areas/less curvature), but for my roof it was a nightmare to work with!
I wrapped the roof of my 2017 Mustang earlier this week and this video really helped me a lot. You aren't lying about Avery.... I originally tried to wrap it with 3M 1080 and it had all the crappy issues you described in your video where you did the yellow on the hood of the Ferrari... second time around I used Avery 900 gloss black, not a single bubble nor wrinkle. Thanks for putting all the effort into these videos, they're really helpful!
is it gonna be doable by myself? I wanna wrap my roof and the side pillars and the side mirrors of my camry. and the only professional place in our area for this is asking 500 dollars for this. so stupid.
Yeah I just tried to wrap my targa top on my corvette and failed miserably and wasted $30 of 3m wrap
@@lsedanolg its all patience and learning... I got a stretch mark, few glue lines and actually burned a hole first time doing a hood. Spent 10 hours getting the first mirror done with its angles. Rear trim piece i did 3 times to get it right since it wanted to bubble up around center emblem area (high tension zone). After that things started getting easier learning how to make relief cuts where needed and learning the angles. Its not something you really get first time. Ive only worked with vvivid, so the easier film used starting out is best.
Learned from my mistakes.. we were pulling too much out doing the hood. Need to just lay it flat and let things fold over edges
I want to wrap my suv, is this wrap good for learning to wrap? I dont want to feel like I'm wasting $.
Bill I have a mustang as well (S550). How did you finish the wrap, along the sides of the roof? There's a small valley that runs from front to back windshield...but no opening to tuck the wrap into.
Do you have more videos vynil wrapping other parts of the Genesis coupe?
I'm sorry if I sound dumb but I'm still a tiny bit confused on bridging the gap. Do you just leave a tiny gap between the 2 parts?
What is the room temp when you're putting this down?
Love how the video is showing me (a beginner) how to vynil wrap my same exact car
Amazing job, I did blacked out my chrome trine and I have you to thank.
I love watching your videos out of order and seeing you look completely different in every one.
You guys do such an amazing job. Attention to detail is phenomenal. It's the little details that impress the hell out of me.
Thank you
Thank you for the video! I never wrapped a roof before and with your tutorial my roof turned out flawless!! I followed everything to a tee, same viynl, steps and tools and all by myself!
David Eich where did you order the vinyl from?
@@marvinramirez2366 its Vivvid vinyl
I need my roof wrapped 😢
how was the vinyl roof wrap? did it stay the 5+ years?
One thing I have noticed is that all the beginners are doing when they finish cutting a piece of vinyl is they rush with the cut at the end, like at least twice as fast as they were cutting it before reaching the end. Instead, look at CK, at the end he finish his cutting keeping the same speed.
The reason for that is that the chances of your blade to jump and cutting on the paint are very, very high. I know this from self experience and I have seen others doing the same thing 😄
So take your time and don't rush, because you can ruin your nice job, right at the end of it.
Great video! Helped me out a lot! already messed it up once today but this makes it look easy! I already bought more to redo it lol
About to go on my own wrapping adventure with my 2007 Mitsubishi Galant. These videos have given me the confidence to do it myself. Thanks for all the great tips and tricks and detailed explanations of everything. Keep up the awesome work!
How did it go ?
@@Rossvallance a few mistakes here and there but man I love it. Did it in a rock gray. Car looks great.
@alangarcia what vinyl you use?
@@sapphirekeyes2042 i used avery dennison in rock gray
Is the wrap safe going through automatic car wash brush? Will it worn out the paint wrap over time?
👍 Great video!
Nice work brother. The fact that you're filming too! I wish I had the time and patience in my life to wrap our cars. Thanks!
Dude, your such a good teacher/mentor... good job man. Hope your business is going well, really admire your work ethic.
GREAT JOB Andrew and under pressure ,,Sounds like a Very Good Teacher Also
Well Done Guys
Thanks for allowing apprentice to do this. As a novice myself this video is totally relevant to a first timer.. I just picked up Hyundai Elantra N-Line and think it will be a challenge for me with the shark antenna and sun roof.
What company do you guys think makes the best satin black?
@@maddawgnoll lol ikr
Awesome
well explained, well displayed ,well executed.
Well impressed tbf 🙌🏻
All the daft videos I watched before this one 😡😡🤣😂
Can you give me a good vinyl in matte black for a beginner? I bought VVivid XPO from Amazon, and it was extremely difficult to work with. I had all kinds of bubbles, and couldn't get rid of them. Any pointers, or ideas?
Same I bought 3m 1080 dead matte black, and the material was tough and as thin and easy as this
I need a CK Wrap certification hanging in my shop
Christian is an even better teacher in person. Worth the trip to Toronto!
I like that you rarely cut or edit videos. Gives me an idea of how long it'll take in real time
excellent video! very clear and concise. I have one question, I would like to wrap my roof, but the clear coat on my rood has began to peel, should I sand and feather out the clear before applying the wrap? thanks
I 2nd this question- hopefully someone drops an answer
I’ve been doing vinyl graphics and wraps for almost 20 years and you’re literally the first (and only) person I’ve heard say they prefer Vvivid over 3M. Not saying Vvivid is horrible, but preferred over 3M? You definitely know what you’re doing and the roof looks good, but I’m also surprised to hear you recommend Avery for first timers considering how easy it is to overstretch, not to mention how careful you have to be when using heat. With 2080, or even 1080, you can literally remove the backing, crumple it into a ball, and with a little heat bring it back to perfect. I will admit 3M’s Carbon Series, especially in matte, can get extremely brittle when handled in cooler temps.
Vvivid definitely costs less than 2080, even their Premium line is priced very well. Personally I think Vvivid is great for piece work, such as rockers and lips. Avery is ok for wraps but is the best choice for plotted work, such as signs. 3M 2080 is my favorite for complete vehicle wraps by far.
Your channel and content is great! 👍
He has company interest with vvivid that’s why.
That's what I was thinking 😂😂. 3M is a massive company, there's no way a noname like vvivid and avery would be better.
I gotta tell you man I really appreciate your videos as I'm gonna wrap my car with Avery Rising Sun next year. Great commentary while doing fantastic job at the same time. Keep it up!
I just bought some wrap from VViViD and doing my roof soon
I bought the Vvivid carbon fiber aswell, and im glad with the results its been about 1 month so far... Pretty easy to install the interior in my opinion. Im going to do the hood and front bumper aswell.
Ill post a video when im done with project
I tried this with viviv and failed really hard, will try avery next
Johan Williams - same here. Flushed $100 down the drain. It was extremely sticky and difficult to reposition.
@@daddyo824 it's learning, the Avery was a lot easier to handle thought came out really good. I like will probably attempt do the entire car when I get some time off
@@jawsilent13 I'm going to give it another shotusing the Tack Reducer. You may want to look into it, supposed to make it easier to work with. Good luck on your project
I only put the blade length on the knife as far out as it needs to be
Think I can do a gd job wrapping my vauxhall astra from white to metallic purple after watching yr vids...wheres best to order fromthats not to expensive and delivers to ire ?
This is an old video, I'm on a binge sesh so I doubt anyone is really going to see this...I'm just entertained by the size estimate of 'a quarter of an inch to half a centimeter.'
I would love to see how you do the shark fin wrap
Connor Burton true! That and door jambs
well we are requesting I would like to see spoilers and lips too
Connor Burton we have a spoiler to do on this car. We'll do a video
Did you ever get that shark fin wrap..
Connor Burton 2014 to be some maximum 22
My Audi is all aluminum body and the magnets don't work. Any suggestions as to a work around? Wrapping myself
I bought Avery Dennison off of eBay for $42 to do the roof on my Mazda it worked okay but it seemed like there were some slight imperfections and I'm wondering if people on eBay get seconds from Avery Dennison that might have had some run marks or something in it is do you know anything about that
It's most likely fake. Only seller i buy from on ebay is this place.. All authentic, used many many times..

Hi, how can i wrap a roof that doesn’t have a roof trim?
Great video I’m wrapping Friday can you give me pointers for the corners
thats clean bro...
What color was the vivid that's on the car?!? That's what I want for my car
I’ll do my roof tomorrow, can you tell me do I need to use heat gun to just make sure bubbles not show up, after is wrapped? Or what’s the temperature needs to be after wrapping?
Thanks
I did mine in the sun like an idiot but it kinda helped all I had to do was lift it if there was a bubble and then the sun would be the heat gun.
Also put the tension in the middle dont put tension where the edges are or it may peel
Yup to add what Dallas said, let the film drape over edges without pulling. Especially important with 3m from a video of their tech doing a trunk, as pulling can make glue lines too.
Always post heat at end really good. I use 500-800. The key thing is from the one car I've done so far is you won't have pull back if you're able to tuck the film under something ie: quarter inch under hood, then trim a bit. Which is important taking the car parts off like headlights.
Its looks so easy! I'm gonna to wrap my car for the very first time. Thaks for your videos. They are very helpful and clear. Greetings from Mexico!
It’s helps to have an 8’ wingspan like this guy. Using Vivvid is impossible. It sticks too quick and wrinkles like crazy. We gave up and took it off.
This guy is like 5'3" and has trouble feeding himself due to his short arms.
What is the Avery vinyl called that was used? Can't make out the product too much echo at the beginning
Could I possibly send u a few pics of a job I just paid decent money for, just to get your opinion and if u think possible any tips on how i may be able to attempt to fix it?
DO YOU KNOW HOW LICKY YOU ARE TO BE LEARNIBG HOW TO WRAP BY CK WRAPS? MAN, SAVOR THE FLAVOR!!!!
I want to do that for my toyota C-HR, but it has a antenna fin on top and a spoiler attached to the hatchback part that has a 3 arm extention,
could the triangle/squeegee not be lubricated to reduce friction and aid sliding ?
I love to work with Avery vinyl because you don't have to use heat.
You should grow your hair out like this again haha looks great @ckwraps
All your video's are GREAT ....Thank you for showing us how to do it too ....
How does Avery work with Knifless tape?
I tried wrapping my roof last week with vvivid and it was not nearly this manageable. It was super sticky and thick and was impossible to get on without a million bubbles, and I’m not new to wrapping. Ended up throwing out the whole roll, hoping I can get Avery and do it with that.
I think what I'm going to do is pull back half the backing and do center to front and then center to rear. That way I'm only dealing with positioning half the film making it manageable. Then peel back and squeegee down as i move long, basically how I just did full car length stripes. Very easy.
Trick is though to fold the backing in to make a crease fold where u cut it, so no cut fibers tear pieces into the film glue. If I was using this avery I'd just do it this way, but again I'm using vvivid cf xpo. I know exactly what u mean regards to its thickness, wrinkles and bubbles as I did a hood with it
How did it go?
is the quality like Avery Dennison or 3M , easy to use it ?
Good video....but poor guy who wants their first time to be on camera?
You can also spray the vinyl with water to help you identify where you have already squeegeed
holy fackkkkkkkkkk the heat gub burnt his eye brows lmaooooooojkjk have sense of humar guys
This is the most frustrating thing for me. Used the same wrap and all i get is wrinkles
Andrew did a great job on that.. some great tips also.. thinking about doing my mirrors and roof now..
sir i am from india our my car wrapping shop and sir i want to come to you to learn work can you help me
camna mau order ini sticker bro? ada link ke? sampai ke malaysia ke?
Great job guys! Definitely informative. For the vinyl that the first guy squeegeed down, between the front of the windshield towards the rear windshield.. Was the vinyl heat shrinked to make the edges straight after being cut?
really good video, but I wish you would have included taking off, wrapping and reinstalling the water sill trip part. Would it be reasonable to wrap all that with one sheet? I do not use the roof rack part of my car
I wouldve liked to see that as well since I'm doing my hyundai tomorrow. He did state he has videos of dismantling some bits, but it would be nice having its own dedicated channel to cross ref.
Edit I found this vid.. its particular to hyundai. But same technique where to pull up. Ck has a video on a Honda where they have a front clip near windshield only. All makes are different
ruclips.net/video/-sEtpYfziWc/видео.html
This wasnt the case when I got my vvivid nardo grey😭😭😭
good luck Andrew. You're in a great learning position!
That magnet he is using oml, he needs to be careful
From what I’ve heard vvivid is more thick and harder to work with than 3m
I tryed this with vivid carbon film and it stuck and d ripped
does this protect the paint underneath from uv damage?
meteor fell off the sky and hit him 😄
How do you take the antenna off for this I have the same model genesis
vivid is probably the worst vinyl On the market
First off thanks for your videos! Ive done some small wrap projects and Im about to tackle a roof for the first time. Im looking at my car and both the front and back windows of the 3series BMW have no rubber in-between the glass and paint. There is a somewhat large gap so I'm wondering if you have any pointers on how to finish the front and back without exposing any paint. Thanks!
What size sheet did you buy? For a Sedan…
them damn gloves always a hole on index finger 😂
Why was there no heating involved in this wrapping. It wasn't heated during or after the wrapping? Was it not needed?
The less heat the better, Rule of thumb! Less is best.
Tried with vvivd, the most difficult and unworkable vinyl wrap out there…This Avery wrap is a dream…glass dream
Here in Melbourne they quote 4k for car wrap
Boss why do you put that duck tape ? Great video by the way
Thanks 🙋♂️🙋♂️🤗🤗
My car doesn't have that drip sill, what can I put to hide the cut edge?
Use lifeless tape to make the cut straighter maybe? Other than that IDK how u would hide it
Sam Urquhart you mean knifeless? It's already applied so I can't do it now. I need some sort of plastic trim
What type of car is this?
Do you have classes or is it just RUclips
Can i do this to cheap brands of wrap?
What color is that wrap on the car?
Should I use heat if I’m using VIVVID carbon fiber vynil? Also when and where should I apply the heat?
Where can I get a triangle like that ?
It was great to see a student showing your teachings. Great content man
no heat gun? so this film is a sticker
I've seen vivvid nightmares. Especially at my wrap school. My friend had black fenders one week and the next week he took vivvid off and it was gray with glue. Still have pictures
What do you do if the car has an aerial remove the headlining?
