- What's coming to Valheim? In this series of Hearth & Home spotlights we'll take you through some of the new and reworked gameplay mechanics. Shields are important for vikings, and thus this video focuses on them!
The update will launch during Q3 2021.
Valheim is made by developer Iron Gate, published by Coffee Stain Publishing.

Yay for tower shield, I think it could actually use a shield bash option to apply stagger and gain distance to enemies but its still cool to get that change.
Well that's the buckler..
I'm here to second this. At the cost of some stamina I think a shield bash would be right in line with the use of a tower shield and someone who is tanking or defensive.
@@MrVerece I think you might be conflating shield bash with a shield parry. My understanding of how the buckler was historically used and how it's portrayed in many games is that it's light, doesn't slow you down, and it is particularly good at parrying strikes. Whereas, the tower shield gains its benefits from its size and weight, which would makes sense why it could handle a bash and the buckler couldn't.
We so need this bash mechanic.. when you are unarmed the mouse button 3 performs a kick that serve this purpose of gettin some space, the shields, at least the tower shield, should be able to do a similar move, even the round shield if you think about it, only havin way less impact and knockback into it than a tower shield.
Yeah, that would be really cool if the Tower Shield was a two-handed shield that had its own offensive attack which deals damage. Maybe shield bash with spike add-ons. Or something like a running charge attack.
Just keep adding things to this game, it was gold when it came out, it will be monumental in the years to come.
Finally a reason to use tower shields.
I don't see the reason... maybe if you play with a big group.
@@emodzsiraf It had nothing before, nearly the same block stats like the round shields, no parry. With the update it gets knockback and the stamina needed for a block seems to be improved compared to the live version.
A better Buckler would still be the best shield, I hope we get an Iron or Black Metal Buckler.
Look here, I am the tank now.
@@kirby9124 Look here, look, listen. Ban anybody who isn't a tank.
@@FajethGaming ehm dude , ring banded and black metal shield are these bucklers ( iron and black metal DUH ) ....
Serpent shield should block elemental damage to a certain percentage
I love the music you guys are using in these videos. They really add a lot to the mood and charm of the game.
Haven't touched this game in a few weeks but I still love it
Hell yeah! Great to see the dev team catching up and getting to do more design work! Really hoping this game can have a Minecraft like continued development to keep adding more substance into different areas of the game.
Would be nice
The development cycle is too slow to keep up. Hope it picks up though, I liked the initial version.
@@TimoRutanen Agreed, but Minecraft was also pretty slow at times.
@@RandomUser311 Minecraft was more ingenious than Valheim is. There are many games in Valheim's genre so it has to keep up or offer something unique. Minecraft had basically no competition in the genre at the time.
@@TimoRutanen it wasn't intended as some sort of defense but just an observation. If your point is the Valheim devs should pick up the pace I'd agree:).
Regarding Minecraft though, even when lots of other block based games started to show up progress was still slow (small updates) at times. It really only picked up after MS bought them.
Of course no game without something like redstone is actual completion...
Also, H&H was supposed to be released by the end of Q3 2021, is this still on track @Iron Gate?
Absolutely!
@@irongateofficial Thank Odin!
I remember IN Q3 not by the End
@@deluxe2834 what benefit does that bring to ANYONE when you say that? Saying that doesn’t help you in the slightest, and it certainly doesn’t help Irongate.
What logical sense does it make to say something that brings others down and benefits no one?
@@deluxe2834 Well you have to admit Iron Gate being a small dev team had to catch a ton of bugs to satisfy millions of players after it all exploded. It's not Bethesda we're talking about.
These videos are getting me excited!
I really hope there are more monsters or mini bosses to fight in exploration areas and more weapons/ armor variations moving forward as well. Keep up good work! Glad you added more people to your development team.
I really appreciate your new push for socialization of the hype machine. Factorio did this extremely well. and I appreciate the work you are all putting into keeping us all excited for new things to come!
Surprised at the negativity in the comments. I'm glad you're doing these little video updates. What a fun way to get little bits of info leading up to the launch of herth and home.
People pay $20 for an excellent game, hundreds of hours of game play, and then are complaining about a video giving us information on a free update?
Lol
Preach! People get to spoiled sometimes and forget what they're paying for. 20 bucks from a kind and committed development team with a game that is already fun and memorable deserves a little more patience, I just appreciate the communication alone the content videos are a plus
@@mattc407 I think part of it is many of them fail to realize or remember this games original dev team consisted of FIVE people. Shit's gonna take time, and not everything will be thought of right away. People need to chill tf out and be excited for everything they add, this game is still in development.
People are selfish and greedy.
@@Omgbbqhaxlolol I always like to imagine the game right now as Minecraft before the village update WAYY back when. It has potential and the updates do be coming. Valheim was a very popular game on release. Theres always ganna be a mix bag of people, positive and negative, with numbers that high, I'm sure when the update drops things will be good
You have to understand them - most of these people developed sooo much games by themthelves - they know exactly, what they´re talking about (ironie off)
Thank you Iron Gate for this brilliant game. Most fun I've had in a long time playing a game and will remain in my top favourites of all time. Here's my small request! You've probably heard this one before but please make base torches(not the one you equip) last forever/longer/require less materials. It's so tedious after lighting up the base to have all the torches extinguish and make it all dark and bleak. Not to mention the hundreds of resin I've gone through.
@Iron Gate would it be possible in the next spotlight to see farming updates i.e. can we plant Thistle, blueberry bushes, etc.; Stamina reduction on planting or building; Any updates to capes i.e. Waterproof on Linen perhaps; Any updates to gear adding set bonuses; Workbench upgrades; more animal taming/live stocking?
I feel that allowing us to plant bushes will generate a staying at base all the time, because i have all that i need there, so the whole map would be less important as you dont have to go to Black Forest to farm berries and so on. I like the restriction on plating some stuff because it force you to walk aroind searching for what you need, and the whole map and distances have a meaning.
@@matiaslarenassepulveda152 Couldn't agree more! ;-)
Yeah in the reddit AMA they did one of the devs said they wouldn't be making those things plantable because they wanted to ensure a balance between farmable resources in base and stuff you have to go out and get, plus because that's how real life works.
@@Temujin1206 makes since. Thanks
@@Temujin1206 Um... in real life, can't you cultivate basically any plant you want..? Adding a limitation with the intention of forcing exploration is just a meaningless restriction. It's not like running out into the same forest/swamp I've run through 100 times before is suddenly a fun gaming experience just because the devs don't want to add something that a mod added 9 months ago...
Can't wait till I get to play this tonight. I'm gonna attempt to steal some obsidian from those creatures up the mountain to get a workbench lvl 5 upgrade.
Good luck, I remember venturing into the mountains for the first time was terrifying xD at least there's no deathsquitos up there...
@@guysolomon7904 mosquitos in real life are annoying, and in Valheim they are fucking annoying
@@brunosulliotti3787 They really lived up to their name before they were nerfed :D
Reminder that this game is still in early access. They seem to be polishing the frame of the game before adding more content. Its likely a full release of this game wont be done for another 2-3 years+. I thoroughly enjoyed what is there already and can't wait for there to be more to play. However we must wait. It's a small team and these things take time.
Three years? At the pace they're going, Greenland will be glacier-free by the time this game leaves Alpha.
There's barely been a couple of working months since the early access launch (post-launch bug fixing + summer vacation would have eaten about two months worth of productivity). Going by their Twitter, new hires started arriving only weeks ago (which is about as early as they could have been expected to arrive, given the notice period in their country). They seem to be making pretty good progress to me.
Just because its an early access doesnt mean its ok for slow development
By what measure do you conclude it's slow? It launched as EA in February. They had to take time to stabilize it as they were unprepared for millions of players. That ate some time. They realized they needed more people to cope with the unexpected success, interviewing takes time (given the limited size of the team, it would be noticeable). Summer vacation equals about a month of nothing happening.
Bottom line, it does not seem all that slow to me. They obviously missed their original plans by a long shot, but they were also successful beyond their wildest dreams, which changed things. It looks like the update should be here soon, and if the cadence should turn out to be one significant update every six months for a few years until it's done, I don't find that at all unreasonable, nor even unexpected. This isn't a major studio with multiple teams working to pump out staggered updates full of new lootboxes, and I for one don't expect their development cycle to be like that either.
@@clanpsi so... four years then?
What about the sea serpantscale shield, or kiteshield?
I play with 2 other friends, in the role of tank when we're fighting stuff together...one guy has, until now (we hit silver) been our sneaky fast guy in troll hide, but no more fast armors exist, and the other tends to do 2 handed or spear. I've always used the tower sheilds since I have a fondness for them, but I'm not really sure I consider this a buff or an upgrade- Functionally, enemies get to toss me around? Like, this is good if youre getting dogpiled by a bunch of enemies by yourself, but pretty much ONLY in that situation. Once you're into the swamp and beyond, this feels unhelpful. Youll get knocked into the water in the swamp, knocked off the edge (especially this!) In the mountains, and there's a bunch of enemies in plains..
I realize the reverse could make things a bit too easy, but I seriously hope there's other upgrades to go with this. If a draugr gets you airtime I don't want to know what wolves or golems will be doing to me, not to mention the fact I just wont be able to hold enemies off anymore.
As far as i can see the increased knockback they are talking about applies to the enemies not you as a player
@@mbyszio The original article I got the link to here from said the same, yet each time I watched the actual video it seemed like it was the player getting the knockback, not the enemies, at all.
which, to be fair, that can have an advantage, it's also just equally a disadvantage in other situations.
@@elitehonor117 it seemed that with the new stagger mechanic different hits push the player back different amounts, tower shield probably less so. but the way they where describing it, it sounds like the tower shield now applies knockback to enemies who hit it
@@elitehonor117 The enemies are getting knocked back. You can see them getting pushed behind the other ones when they hit the shield.
@@ninetailedfox579121 It also pushes the player with the shield back too. Much more than before.
But can I block with a Triangle build piece?
If you are brave enough
Thanks for all the great work guys. Can't wait for H&H but am glad you're not rushing it!
no shit sherlock 5 month for baking bread nobody is rushing
Yasss sword and board bebeeee ! ❤
Question: Can it be made such that the tower shield only provides knock back if there is a button pressed at the right time? Like left click? Similar to parry but your block is already up. This would be a bit more balanced imho. Also idr if you can attack while blocking which is why I suggested left click.
You cant really parry with a large shield like that. It would not only be very slow but also would take a TON more stamina.
It isnt shown in the game but simply thinking of Dark Souls, parrying works more in a way that you have your shield up and bash the incoming attack away to the side.
They probably cant show it that well in game and so it is more a timing thing than an actual parry.
With health affecting block value, does that mean you still need to focus on health over stamina for quick moving parry builds?
this is a good way to show off the new patch, keep going guys, cant wait to get back into the game after the patch
Iron gates, please tell me why the ground level was raised higher? There are some places in the game that are aesthetically affected by this.(((Some animals got into the rocks and can't get out.
Great stuff
Was waiting for a big spider just walking far back in the background. I feel safe now.
The only thing I want added is a sort of trading system, like if I could go on a trading expedition to a faraway NPC town or port and sell my excess wares. The journey should be difficult; I should have to actually sail there or ride there or something and fight off whatever is in my way, not just a simple screen with "sell this for this". It should be a manually-driven caravan of sorts, or a small trading vessel that is more equipped for storage than warfare. I really like the look of this game, but if you were to add manual trading and a manual caravan system then it might turn into one of my favorite games of all time. Just my thoughts, thank you!
RandyKnapp's loot mod gave the tower shield some great dedicated perks that make them well worth it. Getting no move speed penalty combined with block power %, reduced block stamina usage and immovable makes for a heck a tank wall
yeah...modders doing more than the devs in terms of fixing the game while bringing new and exciting content. AND ALL FOR FREE !
@@DacianWarrior well I'm sure the Devs have been doing huge amounts of work and hammering away tirelessly behind the scenes to deliver a big content drop for us - in the end they're a small team and it's not always easy to constantly deliver content updates. Modding has definitely been a huge boost to this game though
Next week for a new hearth and home video?!? What happened to the update dropping 3rd quarter? Are you guys gonna wait til the end of September to drop it? Ugh the wait lol just frustrated love the game

Serpent scale one isnt bad you can use that for awhile
@@echo5827 Meh, even it wasn't worth it with that level of speed reduction. It's a big map. just having it on my back kills exploration. Only so much time in life, and one can't spend 8 years of it just traveling across their house armed lol.
@@Slyrouth so unequip it, run across the map, and equip it when you get to where you want to go

I love this game and I can't wait for the update so I can start playing with friends again and finally beat the 4th boss!
A shove would be nice with the Tower Shield to get space from 2 or 3 enemys. Kinda like a kick.
I know the game's not meant to be historically accurate, but I'd love if it the tower shield were changed to a kite shield as those were actually around and used at the end of the Viking Age
My thoughts exactly! The Serpent one is beautiful and stylish, some more, simpler Kite-style shields would look awesome, even as just decoration inside the house.
shield bash as a middle mouse click special attack please?!
Well. This was quick
Will the upcoming update invalidate our game saves?
Yes most likely
@@TheHarrisontemple I dont see why it should
From what I can tell, the game works similar to Terraria, in which most of it stays the same and only underneath stuff is changed and added.
Youd probably need to make a new world to get all the new stuff but the old likely still works
@@TheHarrisontemple the devs already said that u most keep unexplored the new biomes ( mistland , ashland and north ) to get updated . if u builds in these biomes most likely will stay empty when updates comes
cool I get to use my tower shield in combat instead of just using it for decoration :) can't wait for the new content hurry up please
two handed weapon buffs are what I'd like to see
finally have a reason to use the serpent shield
I'm hoping maybe the drakes could drop some sort of hide in the future to make cold resistant armor that has weaker defense than the standard silver armor, but faster speed like the troll armor set. We need more armor sets for glass cannons!
Yeah I always liked the 'light armor' feel of troll armor and was a bit sad when there was no other armor sets with the same style!
I think there should be a scalable type of tower shield for other material like using black metal instead of Iron to craft it. This will make Serpent and the harpoon more available later on since getting serpent scale is such a hard task and a great experience and I see many players missed out on the whole Serpent and Harpoon thing. It would be worth it to have a tower shield that's slightly stronger than the current age shield but in exchange require more effort to craft
will we get dual wield?
In a game where you need to survive. I like having a choice on how i do that.
If youre going to put more emphasis on food and choices there needs to be a way to farm more ingredients than just carrots and beets
rounded shields FTW
Can somebody tell me the roadmap and when is the H&H getting released??
As previously said, before Q3 is over, which is end of September, so basically within a month from now.
They realized roadmapping was a bad idea. They were probably getting advice from marketing that turned out to be bad for their situation. They're trying something different so they don't overpromise and underdeliver.
One more row in the bag would be nice
YES
Nice
It just looked like you got knocked back with the tower shield?
The Lords of Iron Gate have spoken once again!
Love your game, keep up the good work. You know what would be even better than obsessive tweaks to mechanics? Fixes for mechanics that are actually broken, like the auto-pickup feature. My inventory is full of crap, I'm in a fight for my life, I throw my spear, run to retrieve it, but NO, I can't because I just picked a fricking daisy that was laying around, and put it in the quick-access slot formerly occupied by my spear. WTF!?
I play a spear wielder (lv 95) and indeed the daisy-in-your-spear slot can be annoying. It's also just how the inventory works, they would have to make an exception especially for this situation. I can understand if they do, but also if they don't. Exceptions always brings problems in games. My advice to you is: don't let go of your spear when you are fighting for your life.. 😅
!!! Allow breeding and riding of Lox's !!!
Anyone know of a good Viking game for PC?
So this implies that there are three shield types now (if there have always been 3 shield types then I was completely unaware), tower, round and buckler. What benefits does the round shield offer then? Is it a crappier version of the tower shield that has like less of a speed debuff or something? Or is it gonna be a buffed version of the buckler but with less parrying power maybe? I can see the reason for tower shields and bucklers but idk what benefit the round shield is going to offer. Either way I'm excited for what this update will offer.
These 3 types of shields already exist, just not on every crafting tier. I think the round shield is (and has always been) intended to be the jack of all trades kind of shield. The buckler is bad at blocking, the tower shield can't parry, and the round shield is decent at blocking while still providing you the ability to parry.
@@hmthisisit Ya that's what I was thinking. It's just hard to compare stats unless a version of it exists in every tier.
you can still parry with the round shield, right?
I was confused about that as well since they said bucklers allow you to parry. I hope the round shield can still parry because that would be super lame for parrying to be it’s own playstyle rather than just a core mechanic. Right now I’m fine with round shields parrying and tower shields doing absolutely jack shi- I mean being more block focus without the ability to parry.
Doesn't look like it.
@@clanpsi watch the video again , still can parry the draugr
I hope these buffs extend to the weapon parry as well. The Atgeir falls off in the swamp area. Even a Black Metal Atgeir can't parry anything stronger than a skeleton. I don't expect to parry as well as a shield, but you should be able to defend yourself to some degree.
okay, that's a good ballance. Buckler makes it easier to parry, tower enables you to tank.
being pushed back dont sounds to tanky to me , you need to be stay in the position , not get kicked all the time but with less damage
the change most be in the other side : monsters most be pusshed away but not stagged in each hit
Oh I love the upcoming changes ^-^
Also, Iron Gate, dont let the nay sayers discourage you in developing your game at your own pace. Plenty of us here still supporting you. Keep up the good work!
You have until October 1st
That's not how quarters work. Q4 doesn't start until October 1st.
Hurry up already
Blue men in tights until silver armor yet again
Come back next week for a look at how we slightly changed the hue of the skybox.
Meanwhile modders have populated the empty biomes, created class systems, added weapons armor and cool mechanics, fixed most of the broken stuff etc etc. Iron gate: new roof tiles and a couple recipes and it only took 6 months.
This is really looking like the Darksouls of Minecraft XD
So... where is the new content?
ARRRRRRRRRRRRR these are too short
10 centuries later..
What does "balanced" mean regarding the round shield? Does that mean we'll still be able to parry with round shields, or do only bucklers get that capability? If not, what's the virtue of a round shield vs a tower shield? If so, what's the virtue of a buckler vs a round shield?
Currently in the game, bucklers have a higher parry bonus than round shields while round shields have higher block power. This means that while bucklers suck as blocking, they make up for it by being able to parry more easily. Sadly, the game only has 1 buckler and it's only bronze so you replace it with higher tier round shields eventually anyways. xD
@@Reapeth except the bucklers don't suck at blocking at present
@@moz7526 True. Just kinda makes me wish they had more shields. More bucklers mostly that maybe have a much higher parry bonus but much less block power.
@@moz7526 TBH, I do find it weird that they mention bucklers when there's only one in the entire game. xD Maybe this means that they will add more bucklers. :O
Huh, nvm then! Video actually does show an iron buckler!
PLEASE DROP THE NEW UPDATE ALREADY I AM DYYYYING TO PLAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
Need to buff tower shield more. Even with this change, mathematically without the parry mod, wont be able to really block anything with stars late game. Kinda sadge tbh. Need to either remove the parry mod, or tower shields need a bit more to even be considered. That's before even talking about the 20% move penalty.
Hype has entered the chat.
Nice! I hope we will see more shield types in every tier. :)
Also, take your time and don't listen to the idiots who want new biomes right now. Yeah, mods have them but nearly all new monsters etc. are just retextured old ones... Software development shouldn't be rushed :)
Great work!
Out of cyriosity: has modders actually made new biomes? Which ones?
@@MC-sl4et AFAIK they only finished the unfinished ones - Ashlands, Deep North and Mistlands. Some parts of Ashlands decorations were already in the code but disabled which made it easier to do. Most monsters are just retexture of old ones but there are some new ones like spiders :) There are some really great mods out there even though they only finished the unfinished parts :)
I have nothing against talented modders but there is a big difference between modding and proper game development :)
I want some kind of editor for my weapon and armor modeling in the game. I would make myself a black heavy armor, a helmet or hood, a black scythe or a two-handed sword, and collect the souls of enemies.
I dunno. It looks like the enemies are the ones doing most of the knock back. Want that immovable object fantasy with a giant shield.

Valheim is the best game of 2021. I do hope that you guys will add a "Hardcore" mode and a creative mode. One for a more gruuling experience for those who want it and a chill mode to build.
Agreed. Multiple difficulty settings would be a big improvement.
You can enable devcommands and then debugmode . You have to enable devcommands in your steam launcher going to Properties -> Launch Options and putting in -console into the text box.
I had an idea for the update, since it's based on hearth and home, how does a telescope sound? A new base object, the higher you build it, the better it works - allowing you to scout the surrounding area fast for hunting or resources. You could use a greydwarf eyes and some core wood/ancient wood as mats. Also maybe a similar function for portals, that a portal has a limited range it can send you. The higher up, the further that range is. It'd be a good nerf for portals, and I just feel like we could use some elevation build difference. Maybe another home object that improves with depth in which it's built. Like a special dwarf effigy item that causes ore to grow around it, the deeper it is surrounded on all sides by land, the faster and more ore it spawns, so you can farm ore anywhere. Idk, just some ideas to make terrain play a bigger part in choosing a base location.
Please port to consoles so we can all play!
Getting blue balls with these teasers
Hope parrying gets nerfed or no amount of buffs will make the tower shields viable, some attacks should not be parriable, like projectiles, 2 handed heavy slams from big creatures, etc. Would also make more sense If bucklers and medium shields didn't have 100% damage reduction on normal blocks, anyways Just my opinion, thanks for the hard work
ya, as cool of an idea it is to have a viable tank block, that parry is just so strong I'd take it everytime.
Agree
@@blahbar8567 You say that, but it really depends on the player. I primarily go for parry cause I like to play skillful in general. I explained it to my friend and he said "Yea but I dont care". He did use a shield but barely parried if at all. Died a bunch because of it but he had his fun lol
Hello. Will there be a division of armor into shoulder pads, boots and gloves in the future?
- I want to be able to customize the armor, several of its appearance options.
- I want a convenient panel for personal items. Increase the number of inventory cells. I need the ability to remove an item from the inventory so that it does not interfere.
- Please allow wood of different qualities to be burned in a fire and processed into coal.
- Please add in the construction mode a wooden wall in two cells only vertical (there is the same in the game but only horizontal) and a round plug for the roof, I really need it for my 8 coal and 16 coal houses, and I also need a hatch door to open from the bottom up as a door.
- I really like to play in the game and beat everyone with a fist, empty-handed - but because of the blows they are thrown so far away that the second blow always misses, I want more damage from the hand.
- I urgently need a weapon in the form of brass knuckles for hands or claws, like wolverine, I also need a weapon that would consume a stone-like a slingshot something. I'm sorry to throw it away.
- Add the opportunity to smear the tree with something so that it does not spoil from the rain - for example, with resin, there is so much of it in the game, I want several more types of shades for wooden and other buildings.
- Also add some alternative types of attacks to some weapons. Reduce the epicness of blows from two-handed hammers and axes - it seems to me that this does not look quite right.
You have such a wonderful game, I've already played 850 hours, I really like it, when I play , I'm already shaking with joy, there's so much more to come up with in it. Thank you very much that there are no tasks and quests in the game - I can't stand them! ^.^))

Ok.. so. Towers got a buff, good. New shield type buckler, fine. BUT the bonus of a buckler is that it can parry? Then does that mean the round shield, the middle ground, CANT parry anymore? I hope this isn't a nerf to force 99% of shield users make a new tower or buckler because rounds are now useless...
My thoughts exactly. A buff for tower shields is nice, even though on the surface this doesn't look like much of one, but it doesn't tackle the main issue that regular parry shields are vastly more powerful, a slight nerf to them would make tower shields more viable, as scoring a parry in the first place is both easy and rewards you with MORE block power than a tower shield of the same material, as well as a significant DPS increase.
Everyone in the comments complaining about how long this update is taking is ridiculous. The game is in early access, this game isnt even technically fully released yet, calm yourselves down.
the game solds 6 million of copies , so that cant boost the dev work /team ? no sense to me
Y'all should be figuring out how to reduce the severe FPS drops after building, instead of adding largely irrelevant mechanics/nerfs/decoration items.
That is the single biggest problem with the game because it severely reduces your ability to be creative and build to your fullest potential.
Get a better PC
@@Cigybutt Has nothing to do with that...my rig is more than capable. It's game limitations on how it renders placed and buildable objects in-game. If you knew anything about the game and how it worked, you'd know that. Honestly if you played the game for any meaningful amount of time, you'd know that.
But by all means...please continue to show everybody what a moronic know-it-all you are.
@@Cigybutt Has nothing to do with the rig.
@@falco5150 750 hours in game, with a village built on completely reclaimed land.
No issues
@@Cigybutt Then your "village" isn't shit lol.
Guy...go watch any large scale build video or showcase where it's massive, with tons of detail, and lots of placed items....and you will see the shit framerate.
It has nothing to do with build specs. Buddy just built a brand new rig and he experiences the same shit.
It has nothing to do with PC performance. It's a flaw in the game.
cant parry with normal schield anymore? what kind of pepega goblin had that idea
where u get that idea ? , didnt u saw in the video that u still can parry ?
So what's the point of the normal shields now? Less defense, and no parry?
Love the game. Why not give us the stats so we can understand the changes? So you keep using that word "Tank" in these updates. Does that mean we will have to play multiplayer RPG style, just to beat the game now? I hope not because I like single-player games and that was what attracted me to this game in the first place.
I take it to mean you get more meaningful options when it comes to choosing your style of play. I haven't seen any indication in what little information has been released, that you can't realistically play single player using any of those shield options.
@@mascot4950 True, but the last few updates they keep saying "If you want to play as a tank" That would imply that one would need more than one class playstyle. I could be reading in something that is not implied to be fair.
Your guess is as good as mine. I just took it as "if you want to play in a more tanky style, slower and able to take more hits, you now can," without reading into it that that meant I couldn't also finish the fights on my own. Either way, odds are they'll tweak it further in the future as well.
@@mascot4950 You are probably right. IronGate does a lot of balancing tweaks.

fixed it for you :)
@@TheHarrisontemple Yall need to temper your expectations, on god. They expected maybe 500-1000 players to find and play the game. Not 10-20k+ players. Yall expect machines to work on the game, not people.
Let us play an alpha version of H&H please!
When will valheim android release?? 🥺
Hmmm...I am kind of disappointed....several months of "work" and this is the result? Basically 3rd video about nothing...
